Park Hoon, can't you just realize how great Soo Hyun is and stop obsessing over Jae Hee!!??
I'm a Chang Yi fan, but Soo Hyun is winning me over. Really anyone other than Jae Hee would be great at this point (only on episode 10). Chang Yi and Soo Hyun are both amazing. I usually have one clear favorite in this kind of "harem" situation, but both women are very strong, relatable, and likable. Hard to pick a favorite between the two, and both make Jae Hee look like a crap choice.
Jang Hyuk is a worst actor. Every drama he screams. I just wonder why anyone with common sense like this guy acting.…
Well, alexk345, according to your list (link: http://mydramalist.com/dramalist/alexk345 ) you have only completed two dramas, and neither of them are "Fated to Love You" or "Tree With Deep Roots"! HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT!?
For serious: a lot of male leads in dramas scream a lot. Korean men seem to have to scream to show they're serious.
Joo Sang Wook LOVED to scream the last word of every line in "Good Doctor". Lee Jong Suk is screaming all over the place in "Doctor Stranger". Both of those guys are well regarded kdrama stars.
Seems to me like "screaming" isn't really a valid criterion by which to criticize an actor.
This drama is like a SUPREME DRAMA, having every thing could ever happen: the arrogant super-handsome actually…
LOL, well said. I loved it despite all that. Or maybe BECAUSE of all that? I think the character of Lee Gun was incredibly interesting; the dichotomy of all his various disparate personality characteristics made him seem really real and believable, despite the unbelievable situations in the plot. And Kim Mi Young was the sweetest, most likable person I have ever seen in anything. Those two make it all work.
I'm surprised there aren't a lot more comments here. This isn't my personal favorite drama (it's my second-favorite) but I think, objectively, it's probably the best one. The cinematography, scripts, and acting were all of a higher standard than every other drama I have watched. But strangely, it doesn't seem like too many of you Kdrama Addicts have seen it. Or, at least, seen it and feel the need to express yourselves about it.
I see a few people saying that they preferred the Taiwanese version of this. Well, I did some research and you know who else preferred the Taiwanese version? Hitler. You don't want to be like Hitler, do you? Be smart and stick with this version.
from the first ep, it started out really angsty and the motive for ddol bok's revenge or rather the king he targeted…
It gets WAY better. Those first few episodes were really rough and my wife almost quit the show. But the bloodshed and torture almost completely disappear as you go (and then come back briefly in smaller amounts toward the end). It's kind of an important part of the storytelling, though.
Call me shallow, but whom she ends up with is just so wrong, he's as ugly as they come, I don't think I've seen…
I'm a straight male and even I think you're wrong. The guy's funny looking, but he's very confident and charming in a lot of scenes (like the one in the bathroom where he keeps trying to distract the other guy from looking at Go Mi Nam by singing). That kind of stuff makes a guy attractive, not his silly hair or mostly-terrible clothes.
Jang Hyuk is a worst actor. Every drama he screams. I just wonder why anyone with common sense like this guy acting.…
Just to clarify, you had some spelling errors and omissions there: you meant "best" before "actor", "would not" after "sense", and you spelled "super amazing" wrong in the last word of your post.
I find I cannot possibly bring myself to watch this drama. I've tried twice with this version, and once with the…
You know, this being my favorite-ever kdrama, I want to disagree with you highly. But I remember being oddly..... put-off by the first episode. I didn't really get what it was trying to do. Obviously I overcame that and my life is better because of it. You should do the same. This is one of the sweetest shows I have ever seen. I am amazed that they made 20 episodes of two people being selfless and kind toward one another work so well. Sure, a lot of the conflict is contrived and even frustrating at times, but it just makes the satisfying moments that much better.
The way the protagonists treat each other, and the performances by Jang Hyuk and Jang Na Ra, should really convert any fan of kdrama to this show.
I must say this drama still lingers in my mind after many months and many kdramas I have watched after. For those…
My first kdrama was "You're Beautiful", which i really liked. My second was "Angel Eyes", which I mostly enjoyed but got really annoyed with by the time it was all said and done.
"Fated To Love You" was my 3rd. And just a few episodes in I was like "this is one of the best shows I have ever seen." So, you're pretty much spot on with this comment. I don't think I disliked a single moment of this show. I didn't even know it was considered "cliché" until I came here and saw some reviews/comments. For me, the entire experience was nothing but unbridled joy.
This was my 3rd-ever kdrama and my sentimental favorite so far. Lee Gun and Kim Mi Young were just to darn lovable for me to care that the plot is a giant cheese-fest. I loved it. Every blasted moment of it. And I love cheese. Give me more. Om nom nom nom. 10/10 would watch again.

No need to thank me.
