Twenty steps away from the toilet and just around the corner from the stairs.
Again, it lives up to be the parallel of Secret Garden. Main ideas are the same down to the memory lost 2 eps prior to the ending! Therefore, something like a human's strong will being able to cancel out God's order of things (like how that man who needed the toilet badly and able to enter the Grim Reaper's domain to get to a toilet) would probably explain the happy ending of how both couples will end up together. I am kind of disappointed because I can see how the writer is running out of new ideas and started to recycle old ideas but in a different form. Doesn't escape the discerning eyes of experienced viewers though!

I love the old wuxia series feel I get from this adaptation. Brilliant touch for the instrumental opening using the infamous OST from the HK 1983 version. I love that they are not using famous pretty idol faces for this drama. The costumes are not overly done either - more realistic. I also like that the CGI is kept to the minimum and we get to see more real wuxia fighting. I hope they will stick closely to the novel. Please don't change any characters or storyline. If they stick close to the novel; this may yet be the best and most accurate version since the 1983 version! Please let this be a labour of passion for the novel and respect for the author and not another commercial exercise! Crossing my fingers!

I'm really disappointed in the series. :( I don't feel they developed the characters enough, let alone…
Maybe he's into BDSM. He likes being tortured and found the perfect dominant partner; hence he fell for her immediately! ;)

Not many things have bugged me so far about Goblin (biased or not lol) but a particular scene in ep. 11 made no…
I think it's the writer's style. She's well known for creating excellent first impressions/openings but as the drama progresses, she's got to create some nonsensical situation in order to end the drama happily; which explains her dramas always have very high ratings at the beginning but slowly fall and plateau in ratings towards the end. That said, she does have a big group of fans and her style appeals to many ppl. I think it's a case of either you like her dramas or you don't.

Ep 4, did Pingting poison herself? Why did she do that?
You are most welcome, Xiaoshu! :)

Ep 4, did Pingting poison herself? Why did she do that?
It looks as if she wants to escape the wedding but she has a greater motive than that; otherwise, with her level of knowledge about poisons, she & Chu Bei Jie would be goners. The poisoning is to attract attention to her 'dodgy' status so that ppl from the palace will act. Bai Ping Ting is a strategist and her motives are not always as straightforward. In a nutshell, she's trying to use Chu Bei Jie's connections against him and to force his hand into agreeing to a truce so that war can be prevented. Stopping the wedding is just a side-benefit. Her main aim is to prevent war and buy time for He Xia to re-group his army forces. Watch on. Things will get interesting. She's quite smart, that girl. :)

Lots of differences in the beginning parts from the novel but there are similarity parts as well. We shall see how the drama turns out.

I bet this will be a tragedy-.- I'm still reeling over SHR:/ I'll try to endure this drama,it does look…
Yes, the novel is better. Just thought I'll give those who dislike reading wordy novels an option with the manhua. But you are right, the novel is much better.

And to those of you who prefers reading manga to novel, Mangafox has the English translated manga for this novel; though not complete yet. Enjoy! http://mangafox.me/manga/gu_fang_bu_zi_shang/

The ending in the novel is a good happy ending. They even have a child together. This is one rare Chinese novel that actually ends with a complete and happy ending. He becomes the king and she becomes his queen. But before that happy ending, lots of challenges and tragedy, of course. So, I hope the drama follows the novel closely. :)

I have a feeling that Deok Hwa is 'God' or the higher deity...Goblin and grim couldn''t find…
My thoughts exactly! That also explains why Deok Hwa always talked down to Goblin and never changed his habit even though he knew his 'uncle' is a goblin. Would be interesting to see if the writer leans this way or keeps Deok Hwa human.

Haven't seen Wilbur Pan in a drama for a while now. Not sure if I should take this on. 44 eps. Hmm...
Yeah, I'm aware of that being an 'old ginger' in CDramas, but I am trying to decide if I should watch this as it airs or binge on it later, since I can only accommodate one CDrama (due to time constraints) and I am kind of leaning towards General & I. Those of you who are watching this as it airs, do keep the rest of us up to date. Thanks.

I selected to follow Goblin over this drama, but I can see now that it was a wrong decision! I'm still following Goblin, but not religiously now. There're too much fluff and repetitions in that drama while the storyline is pretty straight forward. So, two days ago, while on holiday and feeling bored, I finally relented and started Legend of the Blue Sea. The reason why I dismissed this drama to the 'To Watch List' instead of watching it as it aired was because of Lee Min Ho. I called him Marble or Statue Prince for a good reason:- he has only a few facial expression and he can't act; relying only on his idol status and good looks. So, I wasn't too excited for this drama. Imagine my surprise when I find out that this drama actually has a much better storyline than Goblin! Definitely a few things happening and a few side storylines which makes this story more worthwhile over Goblin's straightforward storyline. On top of that, Lee Min Ho's acting is not too bad in this drama. He has improved. Imagine my surprise! Ok... maybe his little sojourn in China while he pursued movie collabs there helped, but he has improved in his acting in this drama. But seriously, as of Ep 13, this drama had not disappointed me. In two days, I marathon-ed and caught up to the current episode. Now, I am putting Goblin on hold "To Watch Later List" and taking this drama up as it airs! Me thinks Goblin is over-rated - thanks to the two yummy looking male leads in that drama. Story wise, Legend of the Blue Sea is much more engaging! Pace-wise, better too! Just my humble opinion.

Honestly I don't even care if Angelababy's acting isn't that great, but I just want GOOD CHEMISTRY…
There can only be 3 reasons for her mediocre acting: 1) She's really not a gifted actress but because of her connections, she gets all the attention and offers; 2) She can't generate any real chemistry with her male leads for fear of displeasing her hubby, Huang Xiao Ming for he is the reason for her celebrity status; 3) Too much plastic surgery, botox and makeup...hard to even crack a real smile without losing the 'beauty' factor, hence poor acting. She sacrificed 'real' for the sake of keeping a standard poster-worthy face all the time. But despite all these, I like the character she portrays - active, happy-go-lucky, 'innocent' etc. Such character sells.
