What we got from 3 volume manga, Shin and Akira definitely like each other. Akira is a rational character he won't date a minor and he needs to tidy up his lingering feeling for his teacher. Akira somehow can empathize with Shin because he experienced the same thing (liking older men when he was a minor) he wants young Shin to experience various encounters with people first and not just look at Akira.
