I absolutely adore JCW here!! He plays the role of the Emperor really well with just the right mix of being serious and handsome and cute as hell. :-)
It was the first time for me to watch such a long drama and I don't regret it.The storyline was great (no comment on the ending, though)!!
However, I really started to dislike Lady Ki around the 30th episode... and that dislike stayed until the end. I just couldn't do with her spite, hidden cruelty and somehow-obsession with the throne... and for me she started to be no better than all those who wronged the Emperor or her. I can't really explain it... I sometimes caught myself scowling when I saw her. :-P
I was no reason for me to stop watching, however and I can recommend this drama for anyone who has loooots of time to spare and is interested in historical dramas with the traditional elements of tagic love, action, treason, bribery and cruelty they always come with it. :-P :-)
Well... the drama is eye candy for sure and Kame is playing the role of a dancer who has nearly lost all hope really well... the way he manages to convey thorugh his eyes what Kei Teira feels is great!! And the camera work (especially during the dancing) is excellent! :-)
The concept of the story is great too and has much potential. I get the impression that the rushed way into a sex-based relationship to seek comfort is just the beginning.
However, as of yet, it is by no means an 'adult love story'... with Fukada-san acting her role as if she is as old as the disrespectful students she's teaching!
You get the impression that Kei (Kame) is the older one and not Yui (Fukada) with her constant 'deer-caught-in-the-headlights-look' and overly shy behaviour. :-/
Still, I will continue to watch Second Love - maybe it'll get better, the 3rd episode looked like it would lead to more interesting and serious themes.
Aaand I need my dosage of Kame's great acting! :-P (^_^)

First test the waters and see how the audience reacts to the pairing of Kame and Fukada-san in 'Joker Game' and then follow up with an adult love story between those two. :-D I can't wait!
