The synopsis is very misleading. This is not some older lady lusting after a younger guy, it's so much more than that. I went in with low expectations and my goodness I loved every minute that I ended up binging it in a couple hours. We have two characters here going through some major issues in their lives and end up being each others support. The portrayal is as realistic as it can get, even the ending made sense (even though I wanted there to be more). I highly recommend this one if you watched My Mister and enjoyed the friendship the leads ended up having because it's the same premise here. (kissasian)
I am a HUGE sucker for a revenge story so when I heard about this I got excited. This didn't disappoint at all. I gotta say Fujioka- amazeballs. Anytime he was on screen I couldn't look away. There were some obvious changes from the book and even the Hollywood movie but it still played out wonderfully. I highly recommend this one to any and everyone. (kissasian)
Pretty much binged this in a couple hours cause I couldn't stop watching but in the end nothing was really resolved. The first couple of episodes were so promising but then it just fell flat 1/3 of the way through and never recovered. I love complex and disturbed characters and watching their journey to becoming a better person (or becoming worse, I can go either way) but the characters in this drama literally went nowhere. I mean I guess that was the purpose of this drama, to show how people don't really become better even though they may want to... I couldn't recommend this drama as it really is a waste of time but if you're a semi-masochist (like me) then go for it lol (kissasian)
If you like a big Hollywood-type/ really unrealistic movie then watch the Korean remake. If indie movies are more your style with movies that come off as realistic then this might be your jam. Both movies are good but I'm leaning more towards the Korean version as it was just more funny and ridiculous. This version though, the acting was just so damn good- I recommend watching both because they are both enjoyable. (dvd)
This was really good for the most part. The twists were nice and I didn't see them coming. Only issue was the ending, like it seemed incomplete and left open... possible sequel? I don't really see the need for a sequel anyway but whatever the case it didn't sit well with me. Fujiwara tends to overact in his roles but he was perfect in this. I haven't seen the original Korean version but I will just to see the difference. I recommend this if you have some time to kill. (dvd)
This was a cross between The Sixth Sense and Groundhog's Day lol Both of those movies were good- this was not. I give Thai horror movies chance after chance but they always end up disappointing me (Pee Mak being the only exception). I pretty much fell asleep- that's how boring this was and jump scares are no longer scary when thats all this movie provided. Waste of time in the end. (drama2s)
Short films don't really stand out to me because not enough time is really given to really care about anything but this one changed that. I felt for Inn when he was talking to his bf Max about his mom doesn't accept him but then he decided to step up to her and show her his true self (not once but twice). It had some comedic relief with the make out session and the sister capturing it on video (lol) but in the end it left the viewer with a great mgs. (youtube)
I enjoyed it. I went in thinking someone would die (lol). The twist that happened was unexpected and made me want to just binge it in one day. This kind of story-writing is really enjoyable because as the watcher you don't know how things will end up, and those are the best kinds of dramas. I would def recommend this but be warned this isn't some light and cute drama (just cause Yamada is in it) (dramacool)
As short as this already was, they could have shortened it even more. The whole montage of moping around while an entire song played out not once but twice was more than enough. In the end it was alright for what it was- got a happy ending at least- but it was boring and pretty predicable. (youtube)
This was such a great series. I really went in with low expectations was nicely surprised at how enjoyable this was. Old dramas seem to just keep their charm and are more entertaining to watch unlike newer ones. Not many people will appreciate this gem but those are people who are so use to the glossy fake dramas these days- it's really their loss. I totally recommend this (gooddrama)
side note- my opinion of Jung Eum has completely changed, think I'll give her another chance
