I just finished watching this and really liked it. It was fun, funny, entertaining & impressive. Was it perfect? No! But it definitely was not as disappointing as some people claim. I think they did great considering all the challenges faced during production and delays.
I particularly liked the main leads' chemistry. Cheng Lei really pulled off the 'I'm so head over heels in love with her' look - his expressions showed love, respect & trust.
FL was also good, i think she did great in the fight scenes (regardless of stunt doubles). I liked the part where they role-played in Jinyang, with "fujuin"😄ðŸ¤. She's really pretty, & kinda looks like the FL in TLOZH & BIA. The CG effects in the final battle was rather too obvious, it almost felt like a video game.
The soundtracks & bgms were sooo nice, I'm going to look for them. Overall, a very solid effort! 8.5/10
I don’t know how the novel was so without comparing, I feel like the drama was actually really good. There’s…
So aptly put! We can't expect everything to be perfect because, after all, its make-believe. But this was very entertaining, and the 'flaws' certainly did not detract from the quality of the show
idk if you already started watching, but it's like a wuxia with fantasy elements, nothing with gods and stuff…
I haven't started yet, so thanks. Gods, powers, flying & other such make-believe stuff are just not my thing. I'll try watching the first 2 episodes to see whether or not I'll like it.
Is the supernatural element of this drama very prominent? Does it count as wuxia or xianxia? I'm not a fan of xianxia, so I'm undecided, but I likes me a good martial arts wuxia drama with realistic fight scenes. Should I watch it??🤔
I just finished watching this drama. I liked it, but there are several things I'd have liked done differently, like show the leads' wedding, the punishments of Qi Mu & Ouyang Xu, redress for FL's father, Chen Lian & Zhaodi's relationship, comeuppance of Sunniang's ex-husband, etc.
ML got injured & comatose way too many times for someone who's supposed to be an expert fighter with a fearsome reputation. He kinda reminds me of Korean actor Joo Jin-Mo😊
I particularly loved ALL the scenes with Chi Pan😆, he made the entire drama fun & interesting with his antics. The calm, mature love of the leads was also really nice to see. I liked how they talked things out & respected each other's views.
The emperor was way too soft. Monarchs are known to be ruthless & self-centered. While i like the idea of a considerate monarch, it totally didn't make sense that he had never punished any official with death & always took advice & obliged his empress even at the cost of disunity in his court. And that stupid law when Pan'er went to sue Ouyang Xu was absolutely preposterous! 🙄
The most annoying character to me was yinzhang, so hopelessly stupid & dumb, I ended up disliking her so much that i didn't like seeing her face and skipped most of her scenes/dialogues after she fumbled the 2nd time.
Overall, it was an enjoyable show that I'd rate 8.5/10. If you think any of my comments count as spoilers, please say something so I can tag it.
This is an excellent drama! I initially hesitated thrice, but as soon as I settled down to watch it, I couldn't stop. The exchanges between Suo & Ming, Kangxi's brilliance, Chen Hwang's passion, Jin Fu's dedication, there was just so much to feast on. All actors did really well. I will definitely be rewatching it soon. Anyone got recommendations on good Qing dynasty shows?
Looking forward to this🤞🤞🤞
