Feom what I heard the reason for it is Chinese law. Tje series cant have more than 40 episodes
Reason is because many times a drama extends the plot unnecessarily, which results in super draggy shows. Of course, some shows do require a lot of episodes to properly flesh out the world building and plot, but many others are really filled with useless fillers to steal paycheck lol, hence the new law.
I’ve only reached episode 37 but I wanted to share that besides Niao Niao, Consort Yue is one of my favorite…
My favourite side characters were Emperor, Consort Yue and Empress Xuan.
The Emperor is my favourite goof ball in the whole show XD And is not like he's dumb as well, as can be seen from the way he could immediately give the most appropriate decision in each scenario. Such a goofy Emperor is really a breathe of fresh air in these period dramas hahaha.
Empress Xuan is such a benevolent character, and its so difficult to see such character with this personality in this position of power. I was half expecting her to show a darker side as the story progresses, but it just kept showing her to be super kind and generous, even knowing that she is unable to compete with Consort Yue for the Emperor's true love and thus not even bothering to do that but instead trusts Consort Yue 100%.
Lastly, Consort Yue really flipped me over, on a good way. Usually, we will see a cunning, jealous consort always scheming behind the scenes, but Consort Yue was really just "dont bother me with all these bs" vibes XD Despite people trying to manipulate her, she doesnt give a shit and put full trust in the Emperor and Empress Xuan. I really like how shes the only one who could playfully "bully" the Emperor, which goes to show the deep and water-tight their love is. I also love her attitude with regards to ML's mother. They hate each other and regularly fuck each other up, but when someone else wants to fuck with ML's mom, shes like "no bitch, only i can fuck her up, whoever else wants to fuck her up fucks with me instead". Really loved these dynamics between the top 3 royalties <3
Jung So min is really good actress but whenever I think about Naksu, my mind just imagines Go Yoon Jung as the…
I agree Go Yoonjung really does look like an assasin character, but imo, she has to work on her form for the action scenes. Her scenes just feels kinda weak, in the sense that her stances were lacking strength and firmness. It was nearly enough for me to almost drop the drama in the first few episodes. I was skeptical if Jung Somin could do better when she regain Naksu's power, and she delivered it pretty well in the last episode! Her form looks really good on-screen, so i hope Jung Somin comes back for season 2 :(
I believe dubbing is quite common in C-dramas. One of the biggest reason is that the actors' accent may be difficult to understand for the general public (China has many, many dialects depending on the various geographical locations and tribes). Another reason that i can take a guess at is that the sound recording may not be as good, so they will dub over the actors' voices.
the C stands for carry and it’s basically meaning that tong yao and lu sicheng are the 2 carries and carry the…
^yes, and to add on, the mid laner and the attack damage carry (ADC) are usually the main roles who are the carries in a game like this, so that's why they call them "double C" a.k.a "double carry"
Watched this more than 10 years ago when I was still a kid, till now I can remember many parts of the story and the biggest memory is that it is a SUPERB show! Many wuxia shows these days have poor martial arts choreography and form, but the older shows have many good choreography with many actors really learning martial arts to complement their acting, and this was one of the best from a relatively long time ago. The acting was really great, at least from my memory. The fact that it was imprinted in me for such a long time can hopefully show that this was a really awesome show! :)
