OK I JUST WATCHED THE FIRST PART OF THE NEXT EPISODE. So he does remember his past, at least as Bo Xuan. Also, he knows its Wu Huan. (Correct me if I am wrong).
So I was watching ep 39. I didn't understand much, but there was one part near the end that I REALLY want to get. It's the conversation between Gu Jun and Bai Jue. I vaguely got that Gu Jun was telling Bai Jue how he basically raised Hou Chi and asked if he remembered it. Then I got "it doesn't matter if she hates me as long as she's happy". Gu Jun basically saying how much he cared for Hou Chi or something along that lines. And finally Bai Jue asking why did u leave her for 100 years in imprisonment. So I am guessing that Bai Jue does remember the past and is lying about it. These might be wrong, and there was a lot more that was said, but I didn't really get it. Can someone please explain to me what else I missed in their conversation. Cause, you know, it seemed kinda important.
Wow this drama is so good, I'm watching it without English subtitles.... XD But do I understand anything? Probably around 30% and based on context clues can make up around 50%. I haven't attempted smthing like this in ages because there were no dramas worth it, but this one really is so good.
OK I'm a little confused. FL parents are Gu Jun and Wu Huan? But Wu Huan is married to the king. Also I'm sensing some animosity between Gu Jun and Wu Huan when he came to Wu Huan and king wedding. How was the egg created? I have so many questions. XD
Wu Huan.... Anyone know if she gets redemption/confesses? She's one of the main characters, so she's obviously gonna be in the scene for much longer. Does she become "evil" because that's what I'm seeing so far. I also saw the foreshadowing when she first appeared.

I'm glad I took this recommendation and decided to watch it. You were right, the first three episodes were quite a drag, but I forced myself to get through them and I was hooked. As for the comedy, there were times I found it misplaced, but it is not as over the top/cringey compared to some Chinese dramas I have watched and was bearable. The strongest aspect of this story was definitely the revenge plot. The limited romance highlighted this. Now that I have finished it and reflect, I completely understand the mixed sentiments about this drama. Thanks!
