Stupid question, but are the VNs on the wall real ones, or just fake ones for the show? (on the first episode so might get answered, but asking before I forget)
I disagree. ITSAY and GSP are the way to do slow burn romances. I love slow-burn romances. This is a no-burn romance.…
ITSAY is I Told Sunset About You. The other one idk (GSP might be ''Like in the Movies'' or ''Gaya Sa La Pellicula or somthing...? accordingly to google)
I'm on episode 3, and I'm interested in the main couple, and I like the two female friends. But other than that,…
Honestly that's what I did too lol I would say skipping is definitely a necessity if you value your time, most of the drama and other characters are very boring (doctor and student storyline is eeeh, not it) xd
"Toxic" relationships make for great drama. I do not watch BL for moral teachings on how to live my life. It's…
Yeah, not gonna disagree there. Just wasn't my kind of passionate, whatever that means. so prob why it didn't move me that much. Still way better than most BL for sure.

Ok yeah, update on this one, rewatched and it's not the worse thing ever. Just bland and forgettable in quality. I don't get the amount of outrage (for the story, not the rest) about it as much. It's not particularly glorified indeed.
I had mixed this show with parts of a way worse and cringey af one with similar looking actors (that was very glorified and fanfictiony in quality). Hope I never find the name of that other one back... *shivers*
We definitely need to see more between Pei Shou Yi and Yu Zhen Xuan. This special episode left me unsatisfied.…
Eh. Considering one is aspergers and the other as an unspecified affective disorder relating to not being emotionally moved much, I think a bunch of skinship and kissing doesn't really feel needed or natural to add much of for those two. IMO adding those would be pretty out of character and detract from their relationship dynamic.
Both are neuroatypical, so seems good as it is on that front (physical affection displays), even if they do need more scenes together in general to flesh out the odd affectionate sides they both have...

Yeah, that's good. Some people really can't see any difference at all smh.
Perhaps it was the poor writing, directing, acting or cinematography that made me feel that way about the show, cuz I don't recall that much of it except I found it pretty bad in portrayal quality and ''vibe'', whatever that means. Just vague scenes come to mind. (Watched it twice, 5yrs, and a year respectively, so bit hazy)
The throat grabbing scene should have had a moment like you're proposing, that would have been a more interesting turn of events for sure. Wasted.
But yeah, the notes I took were about it seeming kind glorified, it not a good decadent ''romance'' and all though, and I don't tend to change my mind that much, but it happened with the Dark Blue one, so who knows.
I'll have re-rewatch it and pick out key moments that seemed that way specifically, to answer you better and in a none scatterbrain manner, sorry xd
The screenwriter writes alright things, so it would be odd for this one to be that much of a nail that sticks out, so yeah, third time's the charm maybe.
(Edit: To be fair my cinema standards are rather high, so that def plays a role in me not liking the show)

Agreed, but there's still a difference between ''good'' bad relationship that are shown as not good and ''bad'' bad relationship glorified and shown as ''cute, forbidden and hot''.
Dark Blue Moonlight, from here, for example, is very toxic, but it doesn't feel glorified and fetishized, it just feels like a realistic drama, on purpose. Or Hannibal, the series, that one def is that too.

I usually hate fluff and the way everyone overreact in japanese (bl) shows, but for some reason this one doesn't annoy me at all and I love it
(GSP might be ''Like in the Movies'' or ''Gaya Sa La Pellicula or somthing...? accordingly to google)

And kudos to you for using brain cells lol
