I truly hope so because she tends to take a break around this time of the year for a month or so when she finishes a drama so what do they mean that she is supposed to start shooting this random drama in a few days (September).
I dont understand some people who have a problem with Xu Kai's acting career but insist on criticizing said acting career every single time. I am not saying dont criticize it but it comes to a point especially if it becomes redundant. There are so many outstanding actors in the C industry so I dont understand why some people cant just go and support x or y instead of always being bothered with how HE chooses to handle his career. It is always the same comments by the same x or y users that I see.
My main complaint with him is that I hope that he finds a better agency but it seems like he renewed recently? So I guess we have to deal with Yu Zheng for a while.
I really love his acting. There are some of his roles that I prefer and some dramas of his that I skip but it has nothing to do with him but mostly the script that I do not care for. This goes with other actors I am a fan of. There are projects in their filmography that I dont care for. Other people love these types of scripts and enjoy these projects. I am saying this to say that if it is not to my liking for example, it doesnt mean that he doesnt know how to choose scripts for example because other people love it.
From what I know of him (interviews and what not) , he strikes me as someone who likes to challenge himself in acting or take on some projects because he found something interesting about a script. I think that it has to be respected even if some fans may not always like it.
For example, I am really looking forward to fire investigator (different genre for him) and Bai mi (the name is too long)... and BCE and MR are really not my cup of tea. I am saying this to say that this notion that he always picks bad scripts isnt true IMO. I am rambling but we are not (at least I dont) always going to like what our faves release but to act like he is a flop or his dramas dont perform well is not remotely true. BCE, ABAY did really well last year and won a couple of awards and prior to that it was WOL.
Also if a drama is not a huge hit, it is not the end of the world. Other popular actors have 2 or 3 dramas in their filmography that did not necessarily perform according to expectations . There is always the next one.

It is male oriented and this male lead isnt prominent enough in the industry or a top senior so why take this? His name is 1st on the billing here as you can see. Even if it is same billing, reading the plot it seems mostly male oriented. Like I could understand if it was with someone like wallace chung , hu ge, feng shao...(top older actors in their 40s) but this ML? Nope. Let this stay a rumour please.

Exactly. See how his name is 1st on the billing list credit here . I cant recall the last time I saw this with a 7 drama . He is not prominent enough compared to her to warrant this imo. No offense and I dont care how good of an actor he may be. I would understand if it is a very popular traffic actor or an actor who is not necessarily popular but highly respected for his acting in the industry but this isnt the case so I dont understand why she would take this. I also dont know why I see some of her fans hype this on X; or maybe they are just desperate for her to take on a project. The last time a male actor was 1st on the billing list with her was Wallace Chung if I am not mistaken and this is understandable as he is a highly respected senior in the industry. He did wonders at LOEWE as the creative director there and with his own brand JA so I am intrigued to see what he will do at Dior. I do think that Dior will have better clothes now. He is a very good designer and highly respected in the fashion industry.

Anyways, I just dont like the premise of it and I do not care for the ML attached to it as well. It is no different from My destiny and like I said these type of themes are so common in the projects she chooses. I am hoping for something completely different. Like why do we need to see another similar drama like My destiny once we finish watching it?

Can we have a thriller? Suspense? or heck even another xianxia (she doesnt do a lot of these )? Or even a Republican drama?
How is this new rumour really different from My Destiny? There is not much of a difference there (here it seems like they would emphasize BOTH of their struggles and in my destiny hers mostly but again more of the same theme). I feel like she had quite a few dramas with these kind of themes already.......:/

A few weeks ago ,it was Abay 1st anniversary since it aired. This drama is so special to me πππ. Truly one of the best dramas I have ever watched with one of the very best chemistry. Seven and XK had one of the best chemistry I've ever seen in a drama . Truly one of my fave Cp π«Άπ«Ά.
