The prequel began with just the right amount of intrigue and soon transitions into the current timeline of the story.Our main characters YJZ & YQ are introduced, their relationship and the world that they currently live in. The playful banter between them was so cute and yet interesting to watch. I was laughing all the way.Also, one of the secondary characters was introduced rather well, and seamlessly woven in with the MCs.In short, a beautifully executed episode.

This episode was so heart-pounding and such a nerve -racking one.I was screaming for Wei Ruolai to run to safety. He's brilliant but also young and very naive in the ways of the world. It's a relief that I'm bingeing on the show or else I'd have gone crazy with the anticipation.Wang Yibo makes me feel Wei's naivety, vulnerability, sorrow, turbulence and the conflict between helping his brother or serving the nation. He's that great an actor. 👌💖

One of my favorites episodes. The graph of this episode added so much depth to the Main characters. It's their second date and seems like their last meeting too. The emotional exchange is so relatable and effortless. Xu Kai and Jing Tian nailed it with their immaculate performances.This is also the time when Cui Lin talks about why a country should have a worthy Emperor. But Li Ni is still living in the past, unable to get rid of his unhappy childhood. The contrast between the POVs of both the characters is shown so beautifully.
