I like the main lead but vango gao is hot I would love for him to be with her
To me it seems that WJ even though he likes her he also uses her in his schemes ,on the other hand I think Zhan Bei Ye cares for her.
What I don't like is seeing her character being "weak" once more like in TMOPB,even though in the first episodes we see her beat the son of the leader in the mountain with ease.

For some reason I wish in this one for Yang Mi character to end up with Gao Vengo's ones I like them more as a couple than the main character.

That's because you are comparing it to the original instead of trying to enjoy it from a different cultural perspective.…
I will answer fast i didn't compare cultures ,I took 2 dramas with the same scenario and I found out that the main actor in k-version is a better actor (or he pulled the role better)from the j-version,all the rest of the actors in j-version did a good job(that's the third time I say this) ,It's as simple as that I didn't put culture or yelling or cursing or or or in the equation, that's what ceki did.
My first post was clear of any bias, the same way I loved the Japanese version of Jin over the Korean one, the lead actor was for me far better than the Korean one.

I said I wouldn't reply but your post was a good one,
for the first part, you don't have to compare French with American ,even American vs American actor will give a different "note" to a movie.
I agree about budget and ep. count and thats one more thing that will make me not like the Japanese version 10 ep of 45 mins can't and probably won't give time to the audience to bond with the story unless there is season 2.
As for the last part ,me too I don't like the over the top ways(yelling, swearing, cursing etc.) in kdramas and pisses me off in many of them(the same way the over the top the submissive ways in Japanese dramas do), I never said I prefer kdramas vs jdramas ,please read my original post.
Btw have you watched Jin and the remake of it?

I would say I agree with most of your post,BUT putting a difference of how the people behave in two countries as what this makes the drama a none copy-paste....
And of course the story takes a different well not so different turn but the Korean took a real serial killer case and put it into the drama it seems the Japanese didn't have one and so they created one for the drama, thats not taking a different path, they just changed the serial killer case.
When I say is copy -paste I mean the scenario not how the actor is moving his hands or if he yells or swears and certainly not the angle of the camera if that is what makes this drama different then ... it makes you wonder.
As for the lead actor he sucks (thats my opinion) he didn't make me believe in him ,for me he was emotionless, flat well bad acting or overacting one might say, watch the other actors and then watch him and I mean the Japanese actors.
If it is hard for you to compare a English actor with an American or Italian or French then thats you ,I can compare and say this actor is good etc. the same goes here ,because they have different culture doesn't mean that you can't see if one actor is good or not.
Yes the S.Korean dramas have yelling, cursing and over the top emotions in many of them if not the most of them, but I am not a kdrama junkie I'm not saying kdramas are good and the other are not , I have watched and loved hundreds of jdramas and some 20-30 cdramas.
PS.I don't expect them to behave like in the drama ,thats your own hypothesis.
Anyway I am not going to respond after this one because well each has his own opinion and that I respect(you didn't see me posting in any post that said they like the drama etc.), so respect mine as well, you love the drama I well say its a meeh one, if you want to watch a good drama watch the original if you want to see how the Japanese version looks etc. by all means do it and I hope you enjoy it.

Different cultural perspective?Where is that?in what part was it evident? It's a copy-paste so far.
I said that the main lead is badly cast and he is ruin the drama, while the rest are doing a great job, mind me the other 5 in the list are some of my favourite actors.
Not a loss when something you don't like.
Wow 8.8 score?
After watching the first 2 episodes and having previously watched the Korean twice I must say that this version is a poor relative...
What kept me going and made me love this drama (the original) besides the good acting was how they used real cases, things that really happened in Korea (like the serial killing in 1988).
In this version compared with the Korean the leading actor is a mere shadow, while the rest of the cast is doing a great job he is ruin it, the tension that I felt in the original I am not feeling it here.
For me the main is badly cast.
