Really really disappointed in this one. Took me weeks to get to episode 3 or something. Skipped through the last couple of episodes. One of those last episodes watched like three minutes of it skipped to the next one, felt like I didn't miss a thing, still skipped through the next one. This drama was just dead for me. For a crime thriller it had no thrill at all. And that overdramatic dull acting of some...oh gosh shoot me now. Really expected more based on the high rating on Viki and MDL but yah noh it didn't do it for me.
Prince Jing's wife...was she not planted by Prince Yu and Xia Jiang? And when they were uprooting all the Xia Jiang…
Ohhh so it was the wife's nanny not the wife. I missed it there and confused the two for the other, thought the wife was the plant.
There was a scene when they informed Xia Jiang that they chose her and he was impressed and said he Knew she would do well and be chosen. All this time I thought they were referring to Prince Jing's wife. I completely missed it.
Thank you so much MusicalVeggies for your response and clearing this out for me. Completely completely missed it, now I want to rewatch it.
Truly an amazing drama. I did struggle a bit for the first 15/16 some episodes, felt like a mountain climb. Literally…
Prince Jing's wife...was she not planted by Prince Yu and Xia Jiang? And when they were uprooting all the Xia Jiang and Qin Banruo people, she was not one of them. So...does that mean they missed one person and Xia Jiang still has someone planted in the palace who might one day possibly avenge... Or did I miss something
Truly an amazing drama. I did struggle a bit for the first 15/16 some episodes, felt like a mountain climb. Literally every 3/4 episodes I had to come to MDL and allow myself to be encourage by all the positive reviews and comments from fellow MDLers who actually finished the drama. Then from episode...not sure if it was the late teen or early twenties...I was hooked.
Loved the brotherly love. Loved and appreciated the intelligence of both the protagonist as well as the antagonists. Loved the loyalty of the ML's people. Beautiful beautiful closing OST.
No plot holes. Every beginning had an end, every chapter had a closing/conclusion, everything made sense. Really really this is a masterpiece. Didn't think I would love it this much since there isn't that much romance--which I'm a sucker for. But it was really a good drama.
I do have one question that I feel like it wasn't concluded or closed in the drama, am not sure if I missed it. But I will ask that as a spoiler question. Please help with that.
hmm, i wud say ashes of love is sort-off like this, good first half, not so good second half, it's better than…
I will definitely try it Hope, thanks for the recommendation. Definitely sounds like you enjoyed it, lol especially that scene. Now in my head when I'm watching it I'll be wondering the whole time hmmm I wonder which scene was Hope talking about...lol... thanks
Is the female lead the same as from the first season? I'm so confused, there are times where it looks like it's a different actress. Please tell me it's my eyes because I really like the original actress, and I see there on the cast it says it's the actress from the first season.
That preview really really looks beautiful though...can't wait
That one was actually my first Asian drama, that drama is the drama that introduced me to the world of Asian dramas, and I enjoyed it, it sparked my interest in Asian dramas. Then TMOPB was my second watch and it completely made me fall in love with specifically Chinese historical dramas. Thank you Palak.
I'd recommend Ashes of Love if you want to watch exceptional chemistry between the OTP :)
Ok, thank you. I will watch that after watching a modern light drama first. Don't like watching one chinese historical drama after another. Chinese historical dramas are quite heavy.
Still quite new as an asian drama watcher. First time posting comment. I fairly enjoyed the drama, even though there were some draggy parts, some over dramatic acting, plot holes, and also felt like the trailer mislead my expectations of what the drama is mainly about, (some scenes on the trailer are not what they seem to be in the trailer in the actual drama--hope that grammatically makes sense) but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. Loved the OTP. Eish the way Wu Ji looked at Fu Yao ohh mann...
Thought the chemistry was good. I saw quite a few comments on the "not feeling their chemistry", please may I ask for recommendation of chinese dramas with lit chemistry between the OTP (I'm a sucker for romance dramas--current favourite is TMOPB), because for me if the chemistry between the Legend of Fu Yao OTP was not good ( it wasn't lit but it was good still) I'd like to see what is...so recommendations please
