I would add Hua Bu Qi from "I will never let you go" she is my current favourite.
She doesn't have fighting strength but she's got a whole lot more strength than just physical. I liked her wittiness, intelligence, smart business woman, loyalty, plus more.

Title I Will Never Let You Go Spoiler
Despite a disappointing ending, with all the killings and a nonsensical, confusing final scene, I still think this was a good drama, and I honestly still enjoyed it.

Dong Fang Shi honestly there were moments I liked him, I was touched by him or felt bad for him but that still doesn't take away the fact that I see him as a murderous, selfish, self-centered psychotic obsessed human being.
I don't call or see his feelings toward Hua Bu Qi as love, at all. Despite his protection over her, though he probably was genuine in that but for me it was like he is protecting his possession.
How can you kidnap someone you love? Keep them in ropes and chains? Force them to marry you when they don't want to? Hurt and reap her heart out through deceiving her. Stand next to her while you are wearing a smile but she is crying, trying to cheer her up with things that mean nothing to her at that moment.
That's not love, that's self love. That's some twisted self-centered kind of love. He didn't care about her heart, he didn't care about her feelings. He only cared about his own feelings.
If he truly cared about her feelings, even with the marriage deal that was made,  he would've let he go and allowed her to be happy with someone else than her be miserable and unhappy with him. But all that mattered was his own happiness and not hers...uhggg. He is no different from Mo Ruo Fei's father who raped Hua Bu Qi's mother just because he was "IN LOVE" with her. He (DFS) also tried to force himself into HBQ's heart despite being rejected and told no and knowing very well that she has someone else in her heart.
I don't hate Dong Fang Shi's character but at the same time I do.

I personally think Dong Fang Shi and his grandfather and Chen Yu's father are the cause of all these deaths not Chen Yu and Hua Bu Qi.

Chen Yu despite some stupid and bad decisions he made and him being potrayed as weak toward the end, I still found him to be a noble character. He cares for human life, he gets concerned for people even in the midst of disappointment. He truly loved her (HBQ), he would allow her to make decisions and step back and protect from a distance, giving her the freedom to live out her choice/s, while still protecting her.
I really loved their love for each other.

Hua Bu Qi, what an amazing character.
Ariel Lin, what an amazing actress ♡.

Title Hot Road Spoiler
I have no idea what is happening in this movie...ok a bit of an exaggerate...but seriously though the storyline/plot is just weak, if there is any.
The movie for me just lacks substance, in all aspects.
There is no character development, I couldn't connect with the characters at all. Couldn't connect with their emotions.
Weak storyline or none existent.
I'm a sucker for romance but I love my romance progressive. Which makes them have root, substance and a foundation.
These two, I have no idea where this live for you die for you love came from...The whole time they expressed their undying love for each other in some kind of way, I was like "where? When? How?"
It's a Meh movie, empty. Half way through, I kept on looking at how many minutes left for it to finish.
Had high expectations of this one, really disappointed.

I'm sorry did they say she was 14??? The heck??? I really thought that was a mistranslation.

Just finished and damn... that last episode was some massacre...
Sounds like it was a messy (a lot of deaths) ending, from what I've read, and a convenient ending for the main leads. Do they at least explain (through CY explaining to HBQ) how he managed to survive and DFS's grandfather didn't?

Episode 28
I really think it's a great drama. Maybe you can try push through up to that episode, and if it still hasn't won you by then, then let it go. Then maybe it's really not your cup of tea drama.

Title I Will Never Let You Go Spoiler
Episode 28
When does the romance start??? Hmmm...it's really hard to tell with the storyline of this drama in the episodes before their first kiss...
I would say between episode 14 - 17 is when the romance kind of started but at the same time didn't (I'm not even sure if I can call it romance).
You will have to watch the drama to understand what I mean, you will see for yourself.
But their chemistry, no matter what was happening between them was just beautiful. And their love and care for each other no matter the obstacle standing between them, is very much evident in those episodes.
You will just have to watch to understand

I need to know does the 2 main leads end up together or nottt??? Sigh
Lol I saw a 51 episode review, quickly scrolled down to the comments hoping to see a spoiler comment on the ending...lol nothing.
Unfortunately only 45 episodes have been subbed. And I want to binge the rest of the six, with the knowledge of a good ending also.

What episode are you on? The answer to this question will really spoil a whole lot for you
Oh then if you are on episode 34 then we prabably have the same knowledge where Dong Fang Shi is concerned, I'm on 39.
But I will share what I understand then maybe someone can add more if they have more understanding.

Hua Bu Qi is the granddaughter of the master of the Zhu household. Long before Hua Bu Qi was born the Zhu household got into a hectic debt. A stranger offered to help them pay it by cutting a deal with them. And both parties signed that deal in agreement. He will help them pay that debt and if they don't manage to pay him back then the master of the Zhu household who is Hua Bu Qi's grandfather, the father of Hua Bu Qi's mother and uncle, when he has a daughter he should give her to him (the stranger) for marriage. When they had the daughter they hid her from him but the stranger found out about her and demanded that they give her to him. She managed to run away and be in hiding.
She was raped by the master of the Mo household and had a daughter--Hua Bu Qi. And was eventually discovered by people who want to use her (Hua Bu Qi) exposing her existance to this man --the stranger.

Dong Fang Shi is the grandson of that stranger.
And that stranger is also the master of the.....uhhhh...huu I forgot the name of that household but the household of Liu Qing Yan's--the evil assassin who wants Chen Yu. I also think his power extends further than just that household.
Since the stranger--the man that made the deal to help the Zhu household with their debt didn't marry the Zhu daughter, and since the Zhu family is bound by the agreement then the Zhu granddaughter Hua Bu Qi is now forced to marry the stranger's grandson who is Dong Fang Shi.

Why Dong Fang Shi wants to marry her. I'm guessing for power.
The female lineage of the Zhu family apparently has the power to unlock the power of the Biliution (I definitely know I spelt that wrong), but basically when you have that power you will be the one to rule the world.
So the grandfather--the stranger-- wanted to marry into that family to use the daughter to get that power. So now I'm guessing he is using the grandson. I'm not sure if Dong Fang Shi is fully aware and is also in on it but actually really falls in love with her ( Hua Bu Qi) or he is not.

So basically this whole helping with the debt and making that marriage agreement thing has to do with the Biliution (I have no idea how you spell this word, but if you're on episode 34 then you know what I'm talking about) thing, getting the Zhu female descendant to unlock the power to rule the world.
This is what I've gathered, and this is my understanding.

Sorry for the essay *hides face* :)

Episode 39 I died! Lol that gambling scene with butler Zhu with the dice after HBQ and CY arrived was hilarious lol.

This episode once again reinstates how amazing this FL is. She's remarkable. Mann she's sharp, intelligent, smart. I love her feistiness.
And those adorable moments between our OTP, just beautiful.

So, it turns out that Mo Ruofei IS a cross-dressing girl, not an actress playing a male character. The question…
Really!? Lol oh my gosh oh ok. I saw that clip but haven't seen that episode and I actually thought he is just pretending to be a girl on that clip. I had actually given up on the thought that he was a crossing dressing girl.

Oh my god I saw... from what I managed to piece together, the Emperor sends CY to the front lines to die where…
Can he not only have a happy ending! Can they also not make his character seem like less of a hero next to the second ML, who is really not even that likeable.

Seeing those clips made me not want to finish the drama also, it really dampened my spirits. But I'm pushing through because of some of their sweet moments I've been seeing on some clips.
I'm probably going to pause when maybe I have six or eight episodes left and wait for a spoiler. Because honestly my heart can't handle an unhappy ending for our main couple.

Sorry to dampen your heart toward this drama, but I really hope these comments don't put you off the drama completely. It really is a great drama, I'm enjoying it. I'm saddened about the possibility of what the end will be like but I think it's still a great drama. And those "not so looking forward to" episodes I think are the last couple of episodes.
And also remember these are just speculations and assumptions, I haven't seen those episodes. So these aren't facts of what will really happen.

Oh my god I saw... from what I managed to piece together, the Emperor sends CY to the front lines to die where…
*heart sinks*
So he gives up on fighting for her? :(
I've seen those clips but I'm still not sure what is happening there. And the part where Chen Yu was telling HBQ to forget about him. I guess that's him stopping to fight with DFS for the girl. That's really heart breaking.

The clip I was referring to is when Xiao Xia got hurt (not going to say specifically how just incase you haven't seen that clip, don't wanna spoil it for you), I think she got hurt by the emperor or something.
Not sure what the conversation was between HBQ, CY and DFS because it wasn't subbed but HBQ seemed disappointed, angry and hurt toward CY.
At the scene where Xiao Xia got hurt CY looked like he just stood by passively and didn't do anything to help and DFS looked like the hero, he helped her, he tried to do something or stood up to the emperor or something.
Not sure what is happening there, these are just my speculations but it just didn't look good for CY.

From the clips that I've seen on Youtube, I really am not hopeful about a good ending for our OTP.
I need to prepare my heart. Can this drama just end so I can be spoilt please.
Like already I'm watching episode 36 with a heavy heart because of that clip that I saw :( .

Oh mann...
from the clips that I'm seeing on Youtube why does it look like on the last episodes Chen Yu is going to do something disappointing and that might hurt Hua Bu Qi emotionally??? Uhggg why do they have to make his character do that...Now I don't know if I want to watch the rest of this drama.
Still on episode 35.
Will our main couple have a happy ending?
I wouldn't be able to deal if they don't

I so hundred and one percent agree with you. She's amazing. She's smart, she's witty, she's a go getter/a hard…
I mean that is skills, intelligence and strength right there @ "and she is very strategic about how she can mitigate that with her other skills."...for those of us that don't have martial arts skills, I'll take that strategic mind any day lol.

I don't get why anyone hates the female lead. She is intelligent and loyal. For the conditions, she was born in,…
I guess some people also view her as weak, making her unlikable for those drawn to only female leads who have martial arts skills. meaning that for some people:
strong is = to having martial art skills.
Which I don't get. I mean there is more to strength then having martial art skills. Yes it would be great if she had martial art skills but her not having them doesn't take away the fact that she is admirable and amazing, in my books.
There is character strength-- she's intelligent, she's witty, she's loyal, she's sharp, she's daring, she's kind to the poor.
There is mental strength-- she's business minded, wants to advance the poor, kept a secret to protect the one she cared about, ate stuff normal people wouldn't eat, was bullied and witnessed her uncle being bullied but still came out strong, is leading a whole household and took on a burden that she had nothing to do with.
And she's even got a bit of physical strength from her hard life, I mean pushing that trolley filled with wine jars through that forest...I mean...

But just because she has no martial arts skills she is weak.

And then also her childlishness and goofiness at the beginning might have put people off.
