I just finished episode 1 and watching the closing credits I wish they didn’t change the fl from the first episode, not sure what the context is and why her face changed but I’m liking her initial face and this specific actress. So we’ll see how it pans out

Is there arguing that happens? Or at least is it healthy and respectful. Because sometimes people on the comments can be a bit too sensitive and defensive when people post comments that are different from their views and thoughts about the drama and/or character

I’m sorry but no, not because there aren’t any but because I’m more into the historical genre. I do watch modern as well but I can’t think of any right now that are that level of a mature couple. Hopefully someone can respond as I would also like to know.

Absolutely, I’d highly recommend them. Both couples in the two dramas have rough starts, as usual, which is what always makes it beautiful, we love that.

With “Prisoner of Beauty,” it’s the maturity of the FL for me. She definitely had her issues at the beginning, but the ML was smart enough to see through her and call those things out. He had his issues too, and the FL dealt with him as well. They had their ups and downs, but as they slowly learned to communicate with each other, it resolved so much and made their relationship really strong. Their growth didn’t come from dramatic misunderstandings being dragged out for 10 episodes; it came from learning how to speak honestly with each other. For me, this was honestly one of the best couples I’ve seen in a C-drama, and it was because of communication.

“Fated Hearts” also had a rough start, classic enemies to lovers. What I loved about this couple was not only their loyalty to each other, but how balanced their love was. It wasn’t one person loving more than the other; it was reciprocated from both sides. On top of that, they were a team as a couple. They strategized together, trusted each other, and told each other the truth even when it would hurt the other, instead of hiding things under the excuse of “protecting” the other. Their strength as both a couple and a team came from communication as well.

For me, the strength of a drama stems from the strength of the couple’s relationship, not just having a relationship, but the type of relationship. One-sided love (or not balanced), deception, and lack of communication weakens that relationship for me. These two dramas did relationship really well. These are the kinds of relationships I would call romantic. They mature and strong. For me my weakness in what I would call romantic is honest communication, I don’t know what it does to me, when I see a couple demonstrating that in a drama, that’s when I melt.

I’m on ep 2 and this mother is something else. Why is she letting the little brother get away with things and disciplining the fl instead of him, she is annoying. And I read a comment saying they annoyed with the mom on ep 7, so this behaviour is going to continue. I’ll stick it through for Chen Zhe Yuan

Not a big fan of Allen Ren, I like him but at the same time I don’t feel him, he’s such a stiff actor I’m sorry. I know someone’s going to be touched but you’ll be strong.

Fl was frustrating for me in regards to the deception up until episode 26, and even when the ml figures out the truth there’s still something else that frustrated me about her. But I’m still on ep 26 , so hopefully my opinion about her changes.

I’m still on episode 26 so not done yet but I really feel like the fl doesn’t deserve the ml, like besides the fact that she had been deceiving him, she was so nonchalant about her deceiving him after he found out the truth about her. Like no remorse, no apology, no explanation. He’s practically begging her, like he’s the one that did wrong, has to pull out answers out of her, all swoony towards her while she’s still a bit pushing him away, he has to fake being in pain to get affection from her uhg this fl iyoh is frustrating, doesn’t deserve him. I know some people will justify her but girl got too much pride and she’s very self-centred. But yeah still on ep 26, let’s see how she is in the remaining episodes

When are couples in dramas going to learn communication and honesty is key (I know it’s a drama but geez, it’s frustrating). Yes, telling the truth can be painful for you and hurt the other but them finding out for themselves hurts more. It’s really refreshing to watch a couple who is honest and communicates with each other, like “Prisoner of Beauty” and “Fated Hearts”. This fl frustrated me…let me vent a bit in spoiler

Lol how indeed. Unpopular comment but I don’t get the hype of this drama, I honestly just push through because of the hype. You know when you keep on giving it a try until you find yourself on episode 26 lol.

I don’t want to put you off continuing because I haven’t completed it myself. It’s not a bad drama at all, my frustration is the fl. Don’t want to say much to spoil it for you but yeah push through lol, according to the ratings and comments it seems worth it.

Nah it is a bit immature (childish) if you can’t harness your fear, humiliation and anger and direct it at the right thing or person instead of taking it out on someone who is innocent. That doesn’t make sense to me I don’t care how justifiable your emotions are because of what almost happened to you. Why you taking it out on someone innocent who actually just saved you. That’s just disrespectful and childish I’m sorry.

Thank you for trying to bring a different perspective and understanding of where she is coming from but for me it still doesn’t justify the slap. None of anything you have said was his fault. She’s a grown adult who made a choice to go where she was not supposed to go and had no capacity to handle whatever would’ve happened if she was caught, she would’ve had to rely on him again.

No that slap for me doesn’t show growth, just disrespect and childishness. There’s other ways she could’ve shown that growth.
I like and appreciate your reasoning of how you saw her in that moment but as for me that slap offended me (even though it was weak). Maybe I’m overreacting and not appreciating the “growth” that you are seeing but for me she could’ve handled that a bit better.
