After much initial hesitation, I opened my heart and watch this for Gawin. But I'm realizing that this is gonna be one of my favorite BL of the year! Each EP brings such surprises and delight and I'm so glad I have this one to hold onto when there were so many disappointing BL flops this year, some of them from the same company. Another BL that I'm looking forward to every time I finished it. My fingers are crossing hard now and I'm just hoping this ends up nicely too! Krist is such a good actor and Gawin is a revelation. Keep it up! There's hope in GMMTV!
Silly stale plot lines and bad cringy acting skills. Every time I see them put on the foggy bike helmets I wanna choke. This is worst than any film school projects. This is like when your high school friend first bought a digital camera and he forces your other friends in school to film something over a weekend. Low quality Post-production (sound and editing are bad) how is this passable for broadcast? Streaming platforms have no standards anymore? Should have lower ratings here tbh. La Pluie, House of Stars and this are up for my worst BL of the year. I'm officially dropping this.
What a relief this is over! I can't believe this show have such a high rating here. Also I have wasted time on this. Where is my refund for the 12 eps?
First of all, Phat and Saengtai is the main CP here but the first act was on the secondary CP. I actually cared more for Lomfon and Saengthian CP. Suar and Copter deserves their own show. They literally stole this show! They should be the main CP then. Make them the main CP then.
Why suddenly introduce a forced GL couple at the last episode? What's the point of it? Why do you want to make us care?
Whose show is this ? Confusing editing and pacing. The acting for the rest, I don't even want to say anymore. Perhaps this show is a training show for these newbies.
17 min 20 seconds in, we finally get Saengtai. One of the two main leads. Choices were made. So where the hell was Phat?
At 21 min 57 secs we finally got a glimpse of Phat via an old flashback to their argument. Where is the other lead? Was he too busy to film his scenes? What happened? Not enough scenes filmed?
Title looks pretty casual and chill when reminiscing his romance. Dude wake up! Did you forget to work on your facial expressions? Emote actor! Emote! You are missing the love of your life and you just give us a blank face?
NokAir very kind of you to sponsor this show. You deserved a better quality show really.
26 mins we finally got a scene of Phat. Almost halfway to the end of this finale! And its a flashback scene. So where is Phat?
Looking over my watch, I'm thinking should I rewatch laws of attraction again.
Ok now this Ep is suddenly a travelogue of Chiang Mai. Nice scenery but hey they should really cut scenes of Phat and Saengtai missing out on each other in Chiang Mai. Then at least made us care a little bit more right? They are the main CP here, right?
I wanted them to cut back to Lomfon and Saengthian now.
38 mins in, still no sign of Phat. Oh dear, did they forget to schedule him in for the finale shoot?
Then an introduction of a straight couple. One with a blind GF. Aw so touching! Now I wanna watch your show! I don't care if it's not BL anymore! You two need your own show! I almost cried! Hello handsome ChiangMai guy, you stole my heart already!
43 mins 25 mins, Saengtai said he misses Phat. Yes we heard you girl! HONEY, we missed him! This EP is almost over and he is still missing! Does he really hate you so much? Is he ever gonna show up? He is the lead here after-all right?
More scenes of ChiangMai again. Youtube travel vlog style. So many food stalls and markets. Hungry. I wanna go visit there now and maybe find myself a cute ChiangMai BF too like the one you met?
45 mins and 56 seconds, we FINALLY SAW PHAT!!! HUHUHU! We made it! They remembered to ask you to show up! 10 mins of the show left for the main CP of this show. YAY they remembered to bring the other lead back!
50 mins 11 seconds, Phat finally speaks and expresses his love back to Saengtai, left 6 mins of the show. Wow! Talk about Character development!
Then montages of the other casts lives. Yawn. ZZzzz
Then back to domestic holiday life of the main CP. Everything just resolved quickly.
'Is this real love' as the song sings. Nope. This is a joke and waste of my time.
And suddenly Saengthian hears from his soulmate? who is it? WTF? I hope you get your own show then!
Or special EP coming soon? You must be kidding that you deserve another one to waste my time!
Rating: 2/10 (Can everyone adjust your rating for this show too?).
WOW! I'm watching 'live' with the cast online on their network YT, I'm so impressed by their acting and even without English subs, I could understand the plot. So glad to see FilmJam together! I miss them SO much! Great pace, touching scenes and quality professional acting for a BL series! Finally! And the ending of Ep1? OMG is Charn gonna 'TharnType' the hell out of Tinn? Not with the R theme again? This is not a MAME production please! Well at least we know Charn is pervy and flirty! And he is a sexy hot mess! Come flirt all you want with MOI, Film!!!! Ep 2 come quickly please?!
Ep 1 was lame. Bu Xia is such a childish person and Jiang Chi is the silent stoic type. I almost wanted to give up was bored by the kiddish acting and and luckily I pressed on and continued to Ep2. Supernatural theme. Now I'm intrigued! TW BL was kinda weird last year and I'm glad this is a normal boy meets boy with a supernatural theme. none of that incest theme phew. Looking forward to the story now. Hopefully the acting improves!
Oh yeah do you notice that the ending on the bed was a bit uneven? In terms of their intensity? It feels like they filmed it earlier but Man said that they filmed the car scene in Ep10 first and THAT was lots of passion for me. I'm always wary about the finale endings of any dramas because that could be filmed earlier than the other scenes. Example 2gether S1 where they got a hug. LMAO. I hope future BL productions take note of it because it does comes across on screen when we watched it. Oh well.
They are still coy despite expressing their feelings for each other. Realistically a gay couple would had already moved in earlier but I guess this is exploring their beginnings. I was hoping for more passion here but one can only do much with coy feelings and looks. A little more chemistry here would be nice. I'm here for the visuals and chill feelings then. But my patience is wearing thin.
Divorce affects the children deeply and I'm glad this theme was explored here so thats a positive thing I like about this. Believe me, I know friends who are adults now, still lamenting about their parents' divorces and really messed up their lives emotionally. Remind me of Pat from Step By Step too carrying the traumas of divorce. The romance, I'm sorry but it kind of fizzles off. Which is a pity. I want romantic scenes this is a BL afterall. We already made it to this far so hopefully there's a nice proper ending.
The photo of the SA scene was used as the thumbnail for one of the episode on youtube, so this is really troubling. I'm only interested in Pepper's acting because thats what attracted me but the production value was below average. I'm staying for Pepper's acting thou. I hope it gets easier or else I'll will consider dropping this soon.
For a first episode this was horrid and this is coming from GMMTV. Nothing refreshing about the storyline. I was hoping for a more mature performance from the two leads but its just another gig kind of role for them huh? They really have no chemistry here. They should just do straight roles instead. Joong was really good for that gangster role b4? Dunk was a struggle to see him emote. This is not his first tv series anyway so no excuses here. I'm was trying to see if I could finish this episode sooner while looking at my socials. I expected more from GMMTV but this was really bad start. Think I will drop this show for now.
Ben actually covered this song on youtube but i can't link it here. for some reason. You can search "Ben Bunyapol [COVER] | Uppoompat - แค่มองขึ้นฟ้า (Just Looking Up) " on youtube! Full circle moment!
I love slow burns so this drama suits me totally. Pat is a young man trying to navigate and adapt into the working world. He is so inexperienced in the workplace, naive, sensitive and emotional due to his parent's divorce. With his parents dropping by when they could from overseas, I can imagine the loneliness he feels inside all these years, maybe thats why maybe the plushie helps him to deal with it. I do know that some adults who loves plushies so that was a very true portrayal of Pat being lonely and even cries when he couldn't deal with the stresses of life. Pat hiding in the toilet and crying is very relatable to a lot of young working adults having to deal with the crap of working life.
In fact, I read the English translation of the novel and Pat is such a character. Crying most of the time. Emotional, immature and sensitive at times. Ben did exactly as the character. So I don't get the hate he is getting? At least he emotes exactly like the character I imagined from the novel!
So did our Man. He really brought Jeng back to screen from the novel! Jeng comes from a structured disciplined rich powerful family and being the eldest son, he definitely had to set an example for his family. The burdens that he carry, I can't even imagine. When he met Pat, who is frank with his opinions especially when he was drunk most of the time and is emotional (just like in the novel!), that made me realised that he probably found someone who is not afraid to speak up and talk to him directly. Someone who can be real with their emotions. I mean it's refreshing as compared to being feared by his subordinates due to his status. For successful people like Jeng, it's very difficult to meet new friends like Pat who took the initiative to treat him coffee afterwards as a way of apology for spilling the tea.
As the series progresses, we get to experience their working and personal relationship mixing. This makes the show very relatable and refreshing from the other BL. At least this is a BL for the older viewers like us. Working adults. I don't understand why Ben's portrayal of Pat gets a bad rap here. Maybe because Pat is still an immature sensitive emotional guy who was afraid of believing and accepting a friendship from a kind open-hearted guy mature guy like Jeng?! Maybe he think he is not worthy enough and was trying to understand Jeng.
People don't really change after 2 years. Some remain the same even after 20 years. The hurts and family traumas follows no matter who old they are. The child always remembers the hurt and it's really difficult to change their minds. With an awesome guy like Jeng coming into his life, Pat will of course brushed off being his friend after discovering that Jeng is his boss. The barriers come up and thus the struggle to navigate that relationship in a professional setting like work.
The 2 year break was what we needed to set everything back to zero after the dramatic cursed BL EP 11. In fact, I felt so emotional when Pat saw Jeng walked up to the same pitch meeting at Forge. The looks they gave each other just speaks volumes of the yearnings they had for each other. They probably drown themselves in work and until they met again, the feelings that they could not resolved properly and repressed, came back like a flooded dam. The novel did not exactly have a break up and I guess the director added that for the dramatics.
The sweetness they shared on the bed was so relatable to real life too. Being able to accept and enjoy each other's company with confidence that they will have to hug tighter when trouble comes again. I think it's very sweet!
I hope we get a mini season 2 of maybe 5 eps? To tie in the loose ends from the other characters since they had been introduced in this series without much closure. Like Jaab and Jen/Jane? Jeng's parents accepting Pat and also hopefully a wedding for them. Would love a mini story arc for Chot and his partner too! I would love them exploring the stories beyond Ep12. There were many romantic scenes after that and I do wonder why we only got some of it from Ep10.
I do hope to see Man and Ben together in another project again because I think they do have chemistry especially the way they interact in real life on socials and events.
But I'm realizing that this is gonna be one of my favorite BL of the year!
