Why isn’t anyone talking about the face Oh was making in Teh’s IG photo at the end? Why wasn’t he smiling? Seriously my least favorite part.
Was IPYTM as good as ITSAY? No. But nothing could top that in my mind. ITSAY was a masterpiece. Otherwise I enjoyed this one. Their acting is tops (not an ad for Jeff and Gameplay). And not one trip and kiss or farting on the toilet scene. I’m happy. Can’t wait to see what they’ll do next.
Actually it was basically what was in the manga (it's only 5,5 chapters): - lost - and then on the string - wedding…
Hi - can you please answer a few questions regarding how things played out in the manga?
Was Yuki in Alaska the entire 4 years they were separated (32-36)?
Did Akira try contacting Yuki’s mother to find him (and she didn’t tell him because Yuki told her not to)?
Did it say how Akira died? I’m sad Akira died so young and Yuki lived on so long after. Usually with couples like this the survivor dies within a year after their partner (out of sadness mostly because they can’t live without the other).
Just caught up on latest 3 eps. Some preachy, repetitive dialogue. Simon was pretty harsh and seems to think you…
100% agree. This whole thing is David discovering his true self and realizing he’s gay. Simon is David talking to himself.
Also if you read the series description above here on MDL it says when David is rescued by his friend Simon is nowhere to be found - so he probably thinks he leaves him behind but in reality he’s taking him (his gay self) with him. IMHO
Hi Cherry Magic peeps. Big fan of the show. It’s my 2nd favorite BL of all time. I’ve watched it all the way through 4 times so far. Can’t get enough of it. I love them. But I have a question which may have already come up below but there’s just too much to scroll through.
What day was their date in the last episode? All along we are led to believe it’s Christmas Eve 12/24 but it seems like it ended up being Christmas Day 12/25. When did it change?
A&K’s conversations and the date on A’s calendar all clearly point to Christmas Eve 12/24. But suddenly in the last episode when R talks to F about her Christmas plans and he says the fireworks were cancelled on Christmas and when A wakes up in the morning he says he took the day of the date off as PTO and kept it off after the break up anyway then T shows up at A’s apartment he says “Merry Christmas” and there’s a Christmas special meal on the menu at the diner. This all seems to indicate that it’s now Christmas Day, the 25th. But then to confuse things more on the morning after the date K says “Merry Christmas” to A when they wake up.
Would help to know if Christmas Day is a work holiday in Japan. Seems like it’s not.
Well it was more than just a BL. It was a beautiful coming of age drama. It’s been said many times below (and I’m sure will be said many times above) this was a masterpiece. I’ve watched a lot of BLs and this exceeds them all by leaps and bounds.
The script, the direction, the cast, the cinematography, the music and the brilliant use of red and blue color combined to make this a magnificent experience. I cried at least twice during each episode. I’m certain nothing will ever come close to matching this splendor again. I have high hopes for part 2 in March.
Thanks ITSAY for taking me on this wonderful journey.
Whenever I want to smile for 25 minutes straight I always know where to go. Especially after ITSAY.
By the way, anyone else out there think that the blonde dancer behind Rokkaku in the picture he shows Adachi of his dance club days is Tsuge’s delivery boy? He says 1 of the guys is still dancing - could it be?
I hope this doesn't happen but kind of fits that the audition scene could be a year later and Teh trying to get…
I’m of the belief that the opening audition scene was the beginning. Once the audition is over Teh is on the phone with his mom saying he feels confident he beat out the BKK kids and then he sees Oh Aew across the lobby walking out with his dad. So that’s the beginning when they’re both auditioning for early entry. I know it seems like it may be from the future and the show is a memory but I don’t believe that’s the case. Oh Aew has always been Teh’s inspiration and makes him want to succeed (win and beat him, if you will). During the audition Teh is sad he let his old friendship slip away because of his jealousy.
As for unrequited love - I don’t think that’s the case at all. I think Oh Aew is just as in love with Teh. So they will end up together at the end - but won’t be going to college together because Teh will give up his place to him. But to me I think that’s a beautiful ending. They are together- just separated for a short while until they meet again (ha - but in a good way). Teh is smart. He’ll get in after taking the exam next year or may even be able to go for the early admission again too. I have faith - to me that’s a happy ending. I mean they were apart for 5 years - what’s 1 more year? And they can meet up on holidays and school breaks.
I have fallen in love with this show. It makes me smile from start to finish. I cant wait to see each next episode. My 1 issue/question is - won’t he lose this power by losing his virginity? So we all want Adachi to end up with Kurosawa but once they “do it” won’t that be the end of the premise? Obviously I haven’t read the manga but wonder if there’s a finality to it after 1 season. There’s always chastity before marriage I suppose. Anyway - anxiously awaiting episode 5.
The way I see it going down is that Oh Aew won’t pass the test and Teh will give up his spot for him (we know Oh Aew is first on the wait list if any of the 10 who got early admission drop out). Teh will defer his admission for a year. So they will be apart in college - for a year but we can assume they can still see each other and be together during this time. It’s the ultimate sacrifice Teh can make for his love of Oh Aew. IMHO
This is slowly becoming one of my favorite BLs ever.
You would think because i watched MODC i would be okay with open/sad endings right? WRONG. So yesterday a bl update…

I know it’s silly but it’s just bugging me.
Ok - let’s hear all the theories...
And that my friends is how you make a BL!

And now I can finally exhale. Breathe!
