Wait back up a second you think Mac’s character has psychopathic vibes 😧 I just see him as a spoiled boy…
I just haven't seen any empathy coming from him at any moment during the series so far, especially after he witnessed Pai argue with Grandpa. Since none of it was his problem, he just didn't care to reach out, support or comfort his cousin in such a difficult moment. North and Pai have a strained relationship and yet you can still see they care for each other. I'm not saying Da Zhan will try to kill any of them, just going off his cold, antisocial behavior and seemingly zero emotional attachment to either of his cousins.
Man, I really feel for Pai. He's been feeling the pressure from all sides. He has a Grandfather who only cares about the family business, an aunt cheering for his downfall, along with her son, who, to me, has psychopathic vibes, all of that while also having to look after North. His only escape in life is Tim, who has been by his side through thick and thin for a year, standing up for him and supporting his decisions. So, once everything is revealed, he won't have anything to keep him grounded, that will culminate into an emotional turmoil, and the shame he'll feel will be astronomical given how he treated Yu when he himself was being fooled for so long.
After reading some of the comments, I'm surprised at how diverging the opinions on OhmPoon are. I admit at this point I'm watching the series more for them than JuniorMark. I think they have great chemistry, and while in a realistic setting I believe neither Tim or Yu deserve any forgiveness, this is fiction, it's supposed to be out of the norm for it to work and be entertaining. YuNorth still have a chance if both decide to start over from the ground up without emotional baggage. Yu has to be completely honest about everything, his lifestyle, the money his mom stole, how his priorities changed after meeting North. North said Yu is a scammer but I wouldn't even call him that, because North was the one who brought this stranger as his husband into his billionaire life. Yu is more like a 250 million baht escort than a scammer if anything. But we know deep down Yu wants to treat North right even if trust is not there for the time being. They at least have a chance to reconcile, which is more than I can say about TimPai.
Tim's plan is extremely flawed now that we know why he's doing all this. The moment Pai told him he's willing to give it all up, is when Tim should have come clean. I bet Pai eventually would've helped with the family debt, even though I doubt Tim's parents are ever coming back. I don't think they care about Tim at all. Time is running out and he's losing his chance to be truthful. By the succession of events, I assume the reveal will come on episode 7 and something tells me Kuea is the one who's gonna uncover Tim's true identity by gathering his sugar mamas on the wedding day. After that it's anyone's guess how Tim will try to make it right.
Done with episode 4. I'm in tears (literally) damn i love Pai soo much. He deserves someone who actually loves…
I think the reason why Yu stayed is because of what happened in episode 2. The dolls are metaphors for his relationships. The one with his mom is fake, a knock off, has very little value and he got it when his mom walked out of his life. The one he was gifted by North is real, authentic, very valuable, and he got it right after North walked into his life. So I believe that was the moment Yu fell for North. The best way to describe YuNorth is dumb luck. Yu is more of a gold digger than a scammer, he just tried to get married to someone who's rich. What he didn't expect was that person being an airhead who proposed to him right after that night in the woods. North was also lucky because Yu is extremely redeemable and not a serial killer or an actual scammer. I do agree on what you said, they throw the L word around too much, when there is mostly physical attraction and they still have to get to know each other. There are plenty of things that can go wrong though, like North's ex, Yu's real mother and the fact that Yu knew Tim was scamming Pai and didn't say anything.
Pai is in a much worse situation because up to this point I cannot defend Tim's actions in anyway. We know from the trailer that the big reveal happens during the wedding, so any chance of Tim owning up to it before that happens is off the table. I hope the truth comes out soon, because we can't have Pai forgiving Tim quickly, there has to be at least 3 episodes for Pai to get his head wrapped around the idea that Tim actually loves him in the end. But we'll see. We're 1/3 into the series still.
