Lacking in so many ways unfortunately
Great lead actors and we were all excited since the princess royal but this wasn’t the best next script for them. I understand the director would have wanted the storyline told in a slow way though it lacked depth, emotions, direction and a hook to keep audiences interested. The story itself was extremely weak, some dramas may drag a little but at least the characters lines give us some insight or emotion to make it feel like the viewers didn’t waste their time. This drama gave nothing. Which also baffles me. There could have been many ways to project the importance of a relationship or friendships overtime without soooo many scenes dragging endlessly without meaning to them. It took me several months to finally push through this drama and I ended up forwarding so much just to get it off my list. Huge disappointment. Goes to the bottom of my list. I hope these two actors get to work together with a better script in the future. Was this review helpful to you?
Started off good
Had a good strong storyline at the beginning and it's fascinating, but it becomes too complicated and overloaded with many unnecessary scenes and information that did not add to the storyline. Actors did very well especially the scenes in the first number of episodes however it gets draining halfway. I didn't bother to watch the last ten episodes fully - saved myself some 10 hours. It would be interesting to see a similar plot with a stronger tight-knit storyline. Was this review helpful to you?
You won't regret clicking play
It's not just another enemy to lovers story. It's gripping, filled with lots of tension, amusement and keeps you hanging on a thread. You can't stop watching once you start! The FL is not a damsel in distress quite the contrary she’s strategic, clever and very thoughtful. But decides to not to show all her cards fully. Which makes the duo super fascinating to watch and wonder what their next steps are going to be as they fight through their relationship challenges.Watched this because of Liu Yuning and he goes even beyond what you expect to see from him. Superb performance from him. He absolutely does an amazing job in all his roles!
What makes this drama different is the tension and internal battles from the main characters. You get to see them question themselves, their beliefs, apologies and make small efforts to build their relationship and all the mishaps along the way. It's beautifully acted, projected and written. No extra unnecessary scenes, a great balance between the main storyline and the side characters - they all feed into the main plot and build the storyline forward. Great script and lines for the characters and direction. Something other dramas could pick out from.
I’ve rewatched it a few times now, and gone on to watch the female actor in her previous roles as this is my first time watching her, though she shines more here.

My favourite drama!
My most favourite drama of all time! Living out hidden identities waiting for them to each find out who they truly are, this dramas main characters sweep you in! If you’re looking for mysterious, captivating, warrior, battle it out no matter what and heartwarming love story that touches your core with between two leads - this is it.Lead Characters:
I’ve seen the FL in a few dramas before and it was really refreshing to see her in this mature and stronger warrior role. She nailed it! I loved every part of her role, from her attitude, character, costume and lines.
The chemistry between the two main leads is beautifully built up and unfolds wonderfully. Unlike other dramas where it’s so abrupt when did they start liking each other and suddenly the feud ends. Here the storyline and characters relationship blooms so naturally that’s what makes it special to keep watching. It’s so nice to see this healthy loving relationship projected where they stand by each other for who they are. It’s enjoyable because they are constantly against each other and weary of each other’s intentions at first. Both with hidden identities, you cannot but love them!
Battles:
The fight and battle scenes are super incredible and on a grand scale. Superbly directed, delivered and projected. I loved seeing the FL hold and lead them. She’s so spontaneous and direct whereas the ML is strategic and the planner. There’s great built up suspense around who the mastermind behind the wars and chaos and to the degree to what lengths each character will go to rule the world.
Heart touching moments:
There were so many heart touching moments that stood out throughout the drama especially between the main leads. Their acting was top notch! Great delivery. You could see it in their eyes, tears and expressions that make you love them even more. Both of their crying scenes are wow - you will be moved.
Great storytelling:
What I love the most is each character is easily defined and portrayed without having to go into heavy lengths of background scenes to explain why they are as they as. This shows a great director and it’s storytelling.
Not only are the main leads easy for the audience to connect with but we also gain depths to the supporting characters without taking away much screen time from the main leads.
Though I would’ve liked to see the FL identity be revealed better as there was so much build up.
I’ve watched this a number of times now and it only gets sweeter watching these two strong lead characters. Superb performance and drama I’m so glad to have it on Netflix.

Slow but sweet
I came back to this after a year, I watched a good number of episodes but the pace was too slow. I forgot about it till recently. I'm glad I did rewatch and finish it this time. The pace is slow and some parts of the story takes time to get moving but once it does it’s nicely projected and acted. There are a number of great scenes acted out well. You’ll find them in pockets throughout the drama, I think these type of cdramas should try for 20-28 episodes so it remains memorable and engaging. There is a bit more focus in this drama type on the characters own beliefs and standpoints, a sweet development of their relationship as well as for the supporting roles - to be honest they were just as engaging to watch and I loved their scenes equally.
The office colleague scenes are great fun to watch too.
Not something I would go back and watch but the characters are definitely memorable and lovely.

Nice but that's it
Promising but didn't live up. I end up watching it on a faster speed just to get through it. There seemed a good strong storyline but I think the core focus ended up jumping around between the FL’s money struggles, the prophecies and the love triangle. It was a bit over the place with the core focus that all the additional elements fizzled out the strong hold on the story and any reason to keep engaged.Surprisingly it was the FL who needed the cheering up as the story unfolded towards the last 2 episodes. Though, I found the FL acting a bit over the top and unnatural. She does great in showing different emotions but the overjoyed or casual self of the character seemed too much. The character could have had more scenes of why she holds herself in such a boosted way that would have rounded the character much better.
There was a good balance between the characters that's one thing they did achieve.
Good concept, maybe room for another drama, I would love to see another that uses the cheer up theme and cheerleading squad to navigate through life’s hardships it would need to be much more heartfelt and have a stronger script.

Ooo it's so good
You think you know what the story is going to be - but it's the complete opposite! From episode 1 it has you on the edge of your seat. Damn annoying when you have to wait a week to find out what's going to happen. If you want a seriously good heightened suspense, thrill, mystery, between a husband and wife this is one to watch. It definitely deserves the hype it got. The delivery, script and acting are great. The team really rode the suspense and mystery thread and got the audience rooting for the couple, which really helped keep everyone captivated week after week. Want to learn how to captive an audience this is one drama to learn from.
You won't be skipping any scenes. However for me the last two episodes could have been written differently, after all that adrenaline and heightened suspense it felt it dropped a bit. They managed to tie the ending together in a manageable way, it was lovely and sweet though I was looking for a more high peak at this point especially from what this drama had delivered and managed to produce so far. I did feel the last episode dragged only compared to the rest of the series for the sake of completing 12 episodes. I think if they cut an episode that would of be fine as long as the story held strongly. The rewatch rating could be higher. But this is small compared to what the drama delivered and is without a doubt worth watching. Congrats to the story writers and directors for creating this.

Light and sweet
The storyline is good with many added funny elements however I felt so bad for Gok Doo for not being the main male lead. What I loved the most is that they really emphasised the strength of the female lead and the consequences and funny incidents it leads to. The female actor is great and super cute. Her acting is perfect for the role. The cuteness of her lines or movements don't come across as over the top but natural. Her strength also is projected and directed well to be believable. This drama is a mixture of romance, thriller and suspense. I did find the episodes start to drag with the workplace scenes. The concept and story is great I think if they removed the extra scenes and held onto the kidnapping thread that would of been better. It seemed they tried to add quite a bit in. It was balanced, though this balance also takes away the attention and focus of the drama. Hence the main storyline started to feel fizzled out and delayed. That's the only downside.
Loved the female character and the funniest ending.

A great revenge
Definitely worth watching! I don't usually watch trailers instead go off reviews or YouTube shorts. Initially, you think it's the female lead getting back with her husband but that's not the case. It's even better! The story is different to the usual as she seeks revenge not only on her husband but those close around her. The ending was perfect!Beautiful chemistry between the both leads you can sense it from the start even with little interaction in the first episode - you know that male character is meant to be in the story somewhere.
Really easy to watch and has a good pace to easily binge-watch. I loved it.

The unexpectedly great drama
Hats off to the scriptwriter and director for this amazing drama! The lead female actor did incredibly well pulling off two roles with great distinctions. Such a beautiful drama series. This drama is going to make you reflect at your life, your limiting thoughts and emotional blocks in such an unexpected yet relatable way.
Nothing felt forced or overdone which makes the scenes and the feelings projected feel like they are conveying the audiences own life experiences. Many scenes were heart-touching and well-performed.
I loved it, more dramas like this!

So funny and too good!
The first few minutes were confusing and I thought this is going to be a long complicated drama trying to figure out all the character names, but as I got watching it turned out to be seriously good! And incredibly funny - there were loads of moments where I couldn’t stop laughing! I didn’t expect it to be this good! The leads actors not only did their roles justice but I feel went up and beyond. They were perfect for the roles and made the drama enjoyable and entertaining to watch.
Great unique storyline and execution! It’s one of my top favourite Cdramas.

If you got to re-live your life what would you do?
Loved this drama! Had the suspense, sweet moments and a great cast. I loved the storyline of their adult selves being in their younger bodies knowing what the future holds - and the excitement starts as to who’s going to change it first and in whose favour. You don’t know who the true villain is either and it keeps you guessing each character. The main leads did a great job as a married couple always as odds with each other but deep down they truly wanted their marriage to work.
Well worth the watch and I’ve rewatched it three times!

A must watch - absolutely captivating!
Brilliantly executed and delivered by the director, editing, storytelling, script and actors. Every aspect of this drama was top notch! It will get you thinking how good can a Cdrama get. Congrats to the team.If you want a thrilling, suspense, mysterious love story that has you binge watching nonstop then this is it. The episodes go by so fast - that’s how great the storytelling is. What also gave this drama an edge was the direction of the camera shots for the main leads, it brought the scene more to life, made it intimate and brought the audience in. The lead actors did an amazing job. I have to give it to the director and the vision for capturing subtle moments from costumes movements to glances that adds to the scenes depth without having to explain through extra lines. Simply captivating.
I’ve watched this drama four times now. It’s one of my favourites. Sure enough it will be on your fav list too, you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing storytelling on such a subject
It's more than a love story. Intertwined is the lead female's wounds around finding and holding onto love. I honestly cannot believe how the writer and director managed to portray this in such a beautiful, extraordinary and simplistic way. It's funny, quirky, lovable and insightful. A must-watch!I feel everybody should watch this drama just for the story on facing your wounds and how they can show up - but to know it doesn't define you, nor your chances at being loved.
I love the concept of the translator and how that fitted in with the storytelling as a whole. This drama has been a great joy to watch.
I was not expecting this when I started watching this drama. I love how healing, wounds, thought patterns are cropping up more in dramas, taking us on a deeper connection with the characters and life situations, and portrayed in simple ways! For any audience member to resonate with, it’s allowing us to walk away with a more deeper understanding for our own situations.
