the first half of this drama is actually pretty funny. I'd say a unique spin on a classic story. The second half felt a bit rused, not sure if they had episodes cut? But it was still a good time. some special and cute moments. The beginning episodes really made me laugh so hard during their bickering moments.

lmaooo, all good. if i look back to my beginning times of cdrama, there are a lot of actions i thought was beyond the realm of human possibility too haha. we all get a bit numb to these things as well and begin to think them normal. i think if i saw that with fresh eyes, id be seroiusly confused as well. haha

noo, this drama ended. im going to miss the main characters so much. i loved their playful relationship. completely comfortable with each other. as the fl said when he got shot by the arrow, "I got used to being with you all the time". she was infatuated by the 2nd lead, but was never really herself around him. it was all a girlish fantasy because he was a handsome painter, a bit like an idol, but the ml was always there for her, either to laugh at her when she failed, or pick her up when it was more serious. they could always go back to their stone bench in the forest and laugh about it. ahhhh, this type of dynamic is rare in cdramas, i kind of liked that the ml wasn't too jealous until later in the story. i really feel like he was a great friend to her for most of the show. plus he was under an unusual situation where he wants to break the engagement to help the fl, but knows it isn't his place, but then she is angry at him for not breaking it off, but then he also doesn't want to break it off because even if hes the fake fiance, it gives him a connection to her, but he also cant really confess because hes a fake also hes a prince so cant be with a commoner anyway, plus shes technically engaged to the real fiance so it would be immoral, plus he cant break character cause he's still investigating for the crownprince who's on deaths door. he's honestly in a really tricky situation for most of the drama, hence why it's dragged out for so long imo. he's kind of stuck in limbo but i think he really tries his best not to mess with everyone's lives and hurt anyone.
oh well, at the end they were so cute when he picks her up and runs into the academy. and its reopened! i wish their friends were still students, but at least they can live happily together in the academy. I wanna see more of their lives TTTTTTTTTT

I've never liked the dynamic of one person being so much superior to the other. they both bicker because they're both stubborn and childish. of course, that's also why they get along well when they're not fighting. they like doing silly things together and messing around. it actually gives them similar interests compared to other dramas where i have no idea why the stone faced ml likes the eccentric playful fl. when they have nothing in common. here you can see they like spending time together, getting up to mischief. they are happy to just sit together and talk because they both find each other entertaining. this is what real friendship is like. finding comfort in each other's company. i liked in this drama that even after they got together, they can still be playful with each other like good friends, yes they are more than that now, but their connection always started as friends.

i'd almost categorize this as a bit of slice of life. for those who like dramas focusing on daily life, this drama is perfect, but if that's not your style, then maybe this dramas formatting might feel like its dragging. personally i love slice of life stories like this

yeah! the ml actually has a personality and isn't stoic blank faced lol. he's funny and has big reactions to things. I really feel bad for him sometimes when his plans always fail hahahah, knowing his real identity too makes it funnier and sadder at the same time lol

her dad is literally about to be beheaded in like two hours and the girl she's begging to has evidence to save him???? would you not also lose your mind knowing your dad is going to die in an hour and the person in front of you literally wont save him???? i think id do some crazy stuff too, even in modern times

while it's a common trope in ancient dramas, you've also got to remember the extremely desperate situation she's in. spoiler below

right! i find sometimes the dramas with lesser known actors and less budget end up being a lot better than the current famous ones. i really enjoyed this show. it feels like it has a lot of heart, which i find is common in smaller productions

she's just desperate, but later realises she's being too harsh. if i actually think about it from her perspective, a sudden arranged marriage is kind of scary. she's someone who values her freedom.

some people like me like slow burn like this where they are friends for most of the show, maybe some people find this development too slow. i actually prefer dramas like this where the relationship is formed slowly.

omg this actor. I've seen the actor as second leads in other dramas before and always liked his acting and facial expressions, him in a main lead did not disappoint. so glad get got a really good storyline. he's so funny, he met his match with the actress in this one lollllllllllllllllll iykyk

why is this rated so low!??? this was a great drama! I loved all the characters and the main couple were peak bickering couple hahah. The acting felt unique and fresh and the storyline was pretty unique too. everything was so cute and the girl really valued herself and being independent.

yeah i agree. the first 30 eps or so were so addicting, by the time the end came around, i wasn't excited anymore, just wanted it to be over. i finished the drama with a bit of an empty feeling. then I rewatched some scenes from early on in the show, i almost forgot hte initial exciting feeling of those episodes. there was almost an urgency in the plot to get her revenge and with the chemistry, it was still mysterious and very push and pull. i feel that feeling started to fizzle after they held hands in the carriage??? it was the last scene i was really excited about if i remember correctly. i dunno why they dragged this drama out to 40 eps. makes me upset because of what couldve been.
