I am about halfway through this right now and I'm just not feeling it. the only reason for me to finish it at…
Oooh ghorl... the Gameboys Apologists will be coming for your neck hehehe...
But I totally agree with you, the movie is a mess, its not entertaining enough as a whole (the scenes w/ terrence & wesley are the good ones) That "homophobic" relative is so not necessary, her being there is just so the movie will have some "meaty plot" to it coz otherwise... its so boring...
The ONLY good scene of Cairo & Gavreel is the wholesome "flip fuck" and thats it hahahaha
I dont about this delusional GB fans saying its the "best" but actually the series is FAR more better than tge movie... and that says a lot because the series is a big MEH to me
I appreciate your review... however, seeing your LISTS and the WAY you rate shows (GSP 10 and GB 1, Quaranthings…
Thats okay, my review of the movie doesn't change because you "attack" me, anyone or any BL. Im just being honest about what I saw, and I stand by it. It really is better if the story of the movie is included in the Season 2 of GB and not a separate movie. It should've been Season 2 then the movie. The movie honestly cannot stand on its own, it needed the 2nd season.
Oh also, you attacking me, proves that GB fans cannot take criticisms of the series/movie and just blindly watch it even if its not good... and most GB fans just like getting on the "band wagon" not knowing that its not really great, not at all :)
The movie was ok. It has lots of clichés and recycled "troupes" from the series, like the "closeted bf" arc... in the series it's Cairo... in the movie it's Gavreel having problems with admitting his sexuality with a relative. Then there's the "I'm leaving somewhere far" arc... in the series it's Cairo's moving to the province... in the movie it's Gavreel's move to America became a problem.
Good thing there's Terrence and Wes. They saved the movie for me.
I think the material they used here is for the season 2 of Gameboys but they opted for a movie... it should've been a series... it makes more sense as a series, not a movie.
The camera has vertigo hehehe, it bothered me a lot while watching because it moves a lot... it doesn't stay hahaha. I think they wanted to have that "indie movie" vibe but they there are scenes with "zoom calls" and "social media screen shots" that the vibe they wanted to achieve is not so successfully done.
Then there's a "My Sassy Girl" moment there where they buried a "time capsule"... kinda corny tbh
I really love this drama, EXCEPT that fact that Sung Deok Sun and Choik Taek ended up together. I think the writers really intended for Kim Jung Hwan to be the husband of Sung Deok Sun bu unfornately, Park Bo Gum is really "popular" and they succumb to the fan pressure of making Choik Taek the husband. That is gotta be the BIGGEST mistake the writters made, but fortunately, the drama is NOT really centered around the romance of its main characters BUT the story of their "families". But it would've been great if Sung Deok Sun ended-up with the 'right' man, Kim Jung Hwan.
Omg! Some 'Gameboys' stans are bashing 'Hello Stranger' on their YT live! Saw some tweets calling them out. These GB stans are calling 'Hello Stranger' QUEER BAITING. Isn't that funny, because ALL BLs are queer baiting, honestly hehe
I guess the People "complaining" about the ending wanted a "kiss"... duh... if you want some cheap thrill go watch some other BL series with "plastic kiss" hahahaha
"Like in The Movies" is the BEST Filipino BL so far... PERIOD
Karl's Dance in Ep 6 is so LIBERATING!!! I wanna dance with him and be FREE!!! The BEST Filipino BL Series... PERIOD! Or should I say.. The BEST BL Series of 2020!!!
I would disagree that "no other Filipino BL series did that." There is. Still, GSP is a pretty darn good series.…
What I mean in... "no other Filipino BL series did that" is that no other Filipino BL series tackled Social issues the way GSP did. Of course there ARE other Filipino BL series that tackled societal issues but not as good as GSP.
No overly dramatic situations just to prove its point. Actors are amazing without overdoing it. The writing in GSP is GREAT. The poignancy is on another level.
Why people keep comparing this series with gameboys, hello stranger and etc. Every series have their own target…
GSP is definitely WAY better than GB, My Day & In Between. And also, is better than Hello Stranger in terms of production (bcoz HS was filmed during stricter quarantine in the PHL). For me, GSP is the No.1 Filipino BL Series right now
GAYA SA PELIKULA (Like in The Movies), after Ep5... is the BEST FILIPINO BL SERIES so far... No other Pinoy BL Series can touch this Masterpiece (Either Completed or Currently Airing). The maturity, the social critiques, the messages the Series are trying to convey... no other Filipino BL Series did that.
And, hopefully, upcoming Filipino BL Series will be as good, or even surpass GSP.

Sorry :)
My rating? well, we all have our own taste & opinions, so, what can I say... not everybody's delulu over Gameboys :)
