I know your game, and it's pretty obvious you are trying so hard to press home how heinous a female view can be and how poor men can't do that. You need to get over it as this fake equality thing is just a tool.

Many females can now see past that. I know you can't because of your gender. I know it's hard to stomach a bit of change but you need to accept this change. Right now, the market says that's what women want and I'm not bothered by it since around the world, it is men that use violence against women, so in dramas, women need an escape from the real world.

You can try hard to use words like grotesque as I know women don't use those words. Those are reserved for small minded insecure men. Enjoy watching a fair few women be happy in a place that is away from a world of their own. Why be so resentful of that? Pure virgin? Oh please...you sound really annoyed.

I cannot respond to your comments there as I confess to not be watching this drama. I was having a look at the picture gallery to see what this was all about and then scanned some comments and yours interested me as you can see yours stood out. You are in the minority...

Female audiences want their escapism, because in reality it's just not like that. In the drama, all the narrative will be catered for the female audience (perfect ML with dashing youthful looks with devotion and no history of any relationship. Uncontrollable love towards the FL). FL can have flaws that are un-offensive, like driven working obsessively, past failed relationships, alcohol problems leading to sleeping around. Being lazy or misunderstood by their colleagues/boss or parents. But the ML will nurse all that up.

Someone told me in the East Asian areas, men like to play computer games and read comics (Manga) and magazines where as women read web novels and watch dramas. Could this be what is causing some issue with what you see? When you say go in circles, are you saying you have encountered others denying that? I can't speak for them, but I suspect they are OK with that. It's just a process of the early stage liberation of women.

You are repeating what you said from the beginning and I feel you are missing the point. This is not a piece of art. These dramas China churns out are just money spinners and they will pick IPs that are often women writers catered for the women. Even BL by women authors for women consumers.

If that formula even how unrealistic it might look to you works, they will keep on doing that. As a consumer, the ones with the least represented will suffer, which is you.

Believe it or not, at this moment in time, China's churning these types of stories out because there's an audience that seems to like it. I'm sure in time, they will move onto another type of story line. BTW, these dramas are not meant to be realistic. They are a form of escapism. The people here are not after gritty realism. They want to fantasise with their man and see above average partners doing unrealistic things.

Don't put words in my mouth. It's called redressing the balance. I have said that already. Also the dramas follow the market, and sadly for you, your minority view will not be represented. Probably why you are all bent out of shape. That's capitalism for you. Simple.

You are one of those sad liberals that have been used by men to be the tool to think that "equality" equals fairness on both sexes. Sorry, not a chance. One day (when you wake up) you will find out what that really means.

Enjoy your fake equality angle. The same equality that says women have choice to strip off and sell magazines when all that money goes back to men at the top of the pyramid. It's about time to normalise an idealised male in drama land...

I'm not here to prove that? I made clear this is address the balance of pre 2000s when dramas were there where a handful of women are chasing after one ML. I'm not complaining and also enjoying this whilst it last. Often, it's men that use the equality angle to influence women into going with their grievances.

BTW, in case you haven't noticed, the dramas in China are catering to the mass audience and that's to females whether you like that or not. Whatever sells, it's not deep. It's just business...

If you haven't watch The Last Goodbye to Mama, I recommend it...you will see this type of story line played out. To see these types of story lines most will need to step out of idol style type of dramas. But be ready with a box of tissues if you watch this, as it's not for everyone.

That's because you are watching too many idol dramas. I point you to "The Last Goodbye to Mama" where Wang Churan was the main catch, but the ML had a SFL who in the end he went for.

BTW, it's called redressing the balance. Pre 2000s, dramas were mainly the other way round. Females were all chasing one ML, but that's changed to what you see the last 10 years. I won't complain, because in the 'name of equality' has been used by the mainly male-led industry to push back against what women had to put up with from way back.

Sad about SY but glad she took her husband out.LC is crazy and not a very bright scholar. She's not that into…
Well I really hope the princess' character will not be a two dimensional one, as I came here for Zhang Ya Qin. She's a good actor and hopefully deserves more than what I have seen so far. In fact, I hate these types of characters written for women. It's as if they can only be there (as classic prop) to be jealous and nothing else.

These characters are the new style reverse harem. In The Double, they also had a similar scenario in the FL's…
I think she meant mature thinking viewers. 😉

From Ep 1 to 29 it was 10/10 for me, everything was spot on! ep 30-35 could've been only 2 or 3 episodes, they…
Totally disagree with your summary. Episode 30-35 were some of the best and most memorable. You might be in the camp of just enjoying basic vampy style love, but believe it or not there are others that do not think that way.

These episodes you claim to be "boring" show cased other side characters' stories which are critical in tying together the whole drama. BTW, the drama is not about 2 characters and their love story. Without the side characters, this drama would end in 12 episodes, and I think it would be banished into thin air as just another long line of has-been fanservice romance dramas. It's these "boring" scenes that makes the drama elevated, and not just the sexy basic swooning you crave for.

Agreed. I actually skip through ep 30-35. I wasn’t as invested in pearl and zhao Ming arc.
You weren't invested because you are shoe-horning your own likes into this drama. That arc was important to showcase their different type of love where FL character was all over the ML but in a more caring, mature & doting way, whilst ML was gallant and had duties. They also wanted to show in graphic detail how fate will always be the same despite the many attempts to change it. This is the long running theme in this drama. It's not there as filler, or to just please some basic viewers that are only into "visuals" or fan service of vampy love style scenes.

For me second lead syndrome has never been my thing. I reasonate with a character and not an actor and I think…
Miles Wei is not a bratty character to me. He's just an alcoholic living in a time where you can easily have your head chopped off for making the wrong choice. He's imprisoned within his own so-called lavish life. That's a grey character. He's weak because he's afraid of death. Who isn't afraid of death? Because of that, it can make you do some quite heinous things, like turning a blind eye to his parents trying to off his ex wife.

Just for fun, imagine if a less handsome actor were cast as Tian Ming. The hate he’s been getting would multiply…
"...I know most of that audience will now be out for my blood too—just because I dared to present a logical point."

No need to act like some victim about going after your blood. Yes, looks and physique are priority. Especially idol dramas. Secondly, in fantasy land I'd say a fair few will be able to differentiate between real life and fiction. Just as crime dramas are addictive and popular, it doesn't mean all watchers will fall into a life of crime.

He's still attracting fans rn. In fact these people are not following the drama they just like him. Most of his scolding is coming from the MLS fans who feel he has too much of a story. They talk about table turning when there is no table to turn in the first place🌚.

Maybe you're stuck in the MLS circle. He is popular with passrbys. Many are not attached to the CP like you are, they knock everyone for a laugh. Most just like his clips as the visuals look more exciting.

Don't "everyone" us. I and others here love his character, he adds interest to the scenes, otherwise it would be very boring. He's also popular in cn too lol.
