Hey! Hope this answers your questions. 😊1. Way too many to count! 😂 I absolutely love Republican-era mini…
I think the difference is that this is a full-length drama, so expectations are naturally much higher with so many people watching, you're always going to see more praise and criticism than you would with most Republican-era mini dramas. Zhang Linghe also attracts a considerable amount of attention, whether it's positive or negative, which naturally brings even more discussion. Mini dramas simply don't receive the same level of exposure or attract the same audience as full-length dramas starring well-known actors
4. After hearing people say it reminded them of mini and vertical dramas, I wanted to form my own opinion. I also have different expectations depending on the format. With mini and vertical dramas, I usually lower my expectations a bit and just enjoy the vibes, chemistry, and entertainment. With full-length dramas, my expectations are definitely higher.
5, 6 & 7. Honestly, all of the above! But romance, chemistry, and tension are what I enjoy the most. I'm really just there for the vibes. 😂
8. I've watched quite a few. Some I've absolutely loved, while others weren't really for me.
9 & 10. I love Republican era dramas because they're so different from Xianxia and Wuxia. I also like that they often touch on real historical events. As someone who loves history, I always end up looking into the historical background after watching. That said, I enjoy modern and historical dramas equally I don't really have a preference between the two.
It's hard to understand the hype 10 years later but it seemed THAT Good back in 2016. I also never could rewatch…
please dont take this as hate because this isnt intended as hate. but I watched a drama that was filmed in 2012 in 2023 or 2024. I rated it a 10. so It really depends. I bet in 10 years what we think is a masterpiece they will look at us like. tf. they throught this was good.

2. I mostly watch for the leads first, then I see where the story goes (since I do mostly watch verticals and minis)
