Up to episode 4. This is a pretty interesting show with a great concept, but the character Cheng Xiao Shi is really…
Xiaoshi is kinda like this in donghua too, he is ultra empathetic and comes across impulsive when wanting to do goodwill. He’s going to change the past despite LG's warnings about the consequences of this alteration. He's going to interfere more in the future but gonna learn it the hard way why he shouldn't do that at some point. Although I don't know if we'll get there fast to his growth. You're probably going to keep dislike it but be patient for the ride lol.
Jiang Long isn't that famous or that handsome yet he somehow lands on main leads roles in bromance genera? Why…
I agree with you, he’s not CX the way i imagined him from watching the donghua. They probably cast him because he had to convince to play the fun, childlike, shortsighted and reckless side of Xiaoshi character. CX is supposed to be the main character, even in the story no wonder he’s the main and not BWJ. Also BWJ actually fits a bit more LG from apparence and personality depict. I couldn’t see him playing CX. He’s supposed to be smart, calm, collected and you can definitely find okay. About JL, i remember this actor in tiger and crane trying so hard to be funny and playful when he wasn’t and he’s doing the same here trying again. Not much about his acting change from what i saw. Honestly, i dropped tiger and crane after finding everyone plain boring too.
It doesn't stay true enough to donghua or at least to my expectations. Unfortunately, it's not as compelling and amazing as donghua lol. Too bad i don’t think they’ll do every donghua story cases. So far we’re getting another setting and modern life situation after watching the firsts episodes. Maybe because the timeline in the donghua and the drama are not the same. They already know each other when it starts in the donghua while here, they just started learning to know each other and work together. It's still watchable and decent to watch as something new.
The last episodes was less stupefying for me with some underwhelming moments. This drama wanted to have plot to have plot although what made me addicted was prolly exaggeration and amplifying thrill. They just couldn’t even stop the plotting until the very end to give better ending too tbh. Anyway, i enjoyed spending my time on this suspending any belief. It was like eavesdropping on a family and love drama every time from the front row while being excited for what happens next without getting caught haha. Kudos to the actors that. Overall, it was super entertaining and engaging to watch. I could definitely watch again skipping just to see Duke Su waving his fan, my, my, gonna miss it. He is the moment.
I didn't understand what the point mentioning them going out. If it was to show his communication difficulties, he does a very good job of showing it without it. If it was a plot device to make them solo for, it was pretty useless to mention too.
U can watch 2017 version, it has detailed story and much more better in almost all things than this one imo
It surprises me, despite the number of episodes, they did not manage to tell the story in better non-underwhelming way. I don’t think the screenplay and execution is the only problem. I didn't vibe the actors in their unexciting characters either looking i didn’t connect to any. Pretty much every character up to ep. 8 made me though i don’t care about you next lmao. Otherwise, maybe i gonna follow your advice when I have time I will try the 2017 version that everyone is talking about.
Bruh the scenes where the mother, the son and the father drama happened. maybe it was supposed to make me feel or i missed something this didn’t get me in their storyline at all. i find it ludicrous when watching lol. Thus it was not the only scene too.
I tried to watch the first episodes, but I was bored idk. Yet i usually love watching wuxia. It was seriously cringe the way they suddenly in love , and even some scenes how the story taking place 🤐 Anyway, I'm going to put it on hold for now to see later if I dropped.
