From the first episode, we see that it won't be a full story, it's ongoing. He told this story when he was at 6th tier core level and lived 200 years. That's still bottom stages of cultivation. Nascent soul stage and higher is middle stages. Seems very far away. We haven't even heard anybody achieving higher than nascent soul stage yet.

They dont need food or feel cold/hot because of their powers and longevity. That's why I'm guessing they'd rather be outside most times. The mortal's scenes are always indoors though.
