A bit overrated

The show was hyped up so I thought it would be better. Plus, I like MewGulf, but I don't particularly like TharnType. Type is a terrible boyfriend and is so rude to Tharn. I don't like his character. Like at sometimes they're cute, but then other times it's like really? Like that one time where he punched Tharn, even though he clearly saw Sarn kiss Tharn? Like what was that about? Type has some issues, and their relationship overall was toxic. Also, I don't really like that they tried to justify Lhong's actions at the end, because what he did to Tar was terrible. Maybe that's not what the director and writer meant at all, but that's how I felt. Anyways, I don't completely hate the show, but it's not all it's hyped up to be. I liked the new Techno and the other side characters. i also like Tharn, except the fact that he was a pushover. I also loved the OST, I still listen to it. TBH, I feel like the toxicness and the issues kind of got overshadowed by the sex/kiss scenes and the handsome actors.

Never. Been. So. Disappointed

The show was pretty good, but the ending ruined everything. There was so much wrong with it I'm just in so much disbelief of how GMMTv could really fuck up a show like that.

The writers or whoever really tried to make us feel like this was another praise worthy dad who learned to accept his son. The thing is, the father didn't accept shit. He got his way and that's why he was happy in the end.
I know a lot of gay couples do surrogate, it's not uncommon. But the reason they ended up with this option just doesn't sit right with me. Ton's dad literally decided how, who and when they were gonna have a baby. It honestly feels like Ton and Chon were forced to have a child. And I thought I liked Chon's mom too, but she let us down. Like why is it that instead of putting the dad in his place, and letting him know it ain't his life, everyone's tryna please him? Ton and Chon weren't involve in any of the planning and it doesn't even seem like something they even wanted. At least not that early in their life. Seriously, Ton is still in school 3 years later.
And though I still like Miriam, it felt like she was forced to be the surrogate mom. In the scene that we saw, she didn't even say yes, she was just like "YOU WANT ME TO BE THE SURROGATE?", and then "No I don't have a problem with it?" ANd what the fuck if she did have a problem with it sir? I mean she hasn't even had sex yet and already thinking of having someone else's baby? Plus, she was given like a mil for doing it, and a mil is a lot of money, so it feel like she was backed into a wall.
I honestly should've known that they were gonna do some stupid shit like this because they made it very clear that "the dad isn't homophobic, he just wants grand kids." If GMMTV don't fuck outta here with tha bs, he's homophobic and he probably would've disowned Ton, if he hadn't said yes to having kids.
Anyways there was so much wrong with this show but this was the worst for me. I don't recommend it.

Conpletely Different from Start to Finish

This show was a rollercoaster to say the least! I will try to condense my thoughts by the 3 parts of the show.

Beginning:
Absolutely loved the beginning. They start off as college students at the age of 20 and their romance initially starts. The show begins really lighthearted and fun and I ship the couple the most at this point. I was upset when FL breaks ML heart because I felt like he didn’t deserve that.
Once we get brought back to the present we find out she broke up with him, not because of the falling out but because her brother has an accident that leaves him disabled for the rest of his life.

In this new chapter of their life where they’re 27 and doing well in their successful careers they find their way back to each other. Although I like their college romance the best, this part is pretty good too. It’s filled with so much fluff so I can’t complain, but then the problems start to arise…

Middle:
Once the 2nd ML is introduced the show starts losing it for me. One, I’m already not a fan of love triangles. Love triangles usually consist of some rando trying to get between a relationship, I don’t find that romantic, I find it disrespectful. And that’s what happens in this case. Korea is so obsessed with characters staying “true to themselves” and sayibg their feelings, but in the States, a guy going after another guy’s girl is just disrescpectful and would’ve been nipped in the bud. My issues with the FL starts here. She knew her boyfriend was getting jealous and that the 2ML liked her but she insisted on some weird friendship instead of shutting him down completely. It just pisses me off!

The FL ends up breaking up with the ML for the 2nd time, and I never really understood why. I wasn’t under the impression that she started developing feelings for the 2ML, but she said she felt bad or sorry to the ML, which I’m not sure why she would feel sorry unless her feelings changed.
Anyways, they breakup. This leads the ML to quitting his job and moving to Portugal where he goes to culinary school tk ultimately become a chef. I will like to say from the earlier parts to when they were in a relationship, the ML held too much importance to their relationship. Like he really let it dictate every other aspect of his life and I didn’t find it cute how when he got jealous, instead of talking it out with the FL he would ignore her for days. That is NOT what you do in a relationship?!

Anyways, I liked the storyline of him in Portugal, I just think it was a bit dragged out at times. But in this section of the story is where the 2FL, who was introduced earlier, really comes into play and she confesses her feelings to ML and starts a relationship with him. I actually rather like the 2FL. Unlike a lot of people, I’m never really swayed by 2nd leads, I usually stand in full support for the main couple. But seeing as how the FL broke the ML heart 2x, I liked that the 2FL actually appreciated the ML, and I thought that she was pretty cute.

End:
The third section was a lot! I really struggled to fjnish the show at this point. The show started off so light hearted and comical and changed into 4-5 episodes kf pure depression. Between the revelation of what happened to yhe FL in the 5 years that they were split to the best friend of the FLgetting cancer, I felt so emotionally drained! I DO NOT like the fact that the FL broke the ML heart, but also that she git married to the 2ML! Nit only did they get married, but theh also had a kid together. At this point I nk linger shil the main characters. I feel like she chose her happy ending and it did not contain the ML, the onky reason they’re able to find their way back tk each other is because of the unfortunate events that leads tk the FL’s daughter dying. If it wasn’t for that tragic event, she would’ve been living happily with the 2ML and I feel kike that thought just completely ruins the romance. Not to mention, I actually like the ML with the 2FL, and they’re planning to get married, I had no hopes for the main characters getting back together, but atlas they do… well kinda

I felt like the writes were so lazy in end. I didn’t see any new romance that would have changed the ML’s feelings if he genuinely had loved the 2FL. Which makes me irritated that he would even consider marrying her when he never even loved her. Mind you, he was with her for 4 years and had only been with the FL cummulatively for 4 months?!! Anyways, he just felt pity and care for the FL, which is okay and totally reasonable given the circumstances, but I’f he wasn’t gonna get back together with the FL, why woukd he break up with the 2FL? It really was unfair to the 2FL. I felt like the writers really sucked for making the 2FL back down and basically mutually end things with the ML. It was so unrealistic and anyone could tell she wanted to marry him, but they let him off easy, where any real person would have been livid! Especially her parents! I would’ve have to get him for breaking my daughter’s heart!

Just to note briefly, the side couples were alrigtht. I felt really bad for the friend because she wouldn’t be able to have kids snd that’s all she wanted, bht I liked her relationship with the FL’s brother. And the ML’s sister with the ML’S best friend really pissed me off ngl. I know they were supposed to be comedic relief, which Sang Yi was, but the sister pissed me off from the start of the show to the end!

In the end, I give the show a 7/10. It started off strong, funny and romantic, but just went downhill after a while. The middle section with the ML in Portugal was a bit boring, but it was different so I didn’t mind it too much. For a while, I liked not knowing whether the main charactes would end up together or not, but then I actually hoped that they wouldn’t. In the end, I wasn’t happy with their vague ending because I felt like the FL coontinued to shake up the ML’s life and just her kept influencing him to make some pretty big lif choices but he never had that affect on her. Which reminds me how at the very start of the show he said, she was a woman he should have never met again. I just feel like if he was gonna end things with the 2FL, he could’ve at least gotten back together with the FL. Instea dwe get this vague ending where they really don’t seem to end up together, yet they’re friendly and on good terms, but I doubt that’s the case with the second leads. And it was also sad seeing the FL become a shell of herself because of her loss. I wouldn’t rewatch the show, not unless it was just the first few episodes.

I CRIED EVERY EPISODE

This was such a wonderful drama. Much like life it had its wonderful moments and it had its sad ones.
I watched this show for Park Bo-young, who plays the protagonist Jung Daeun, but stayed for the stories and characters
Dr. Dong was a complete goofball and I’m glad they made him a love interest. I hate when great characters like him are only utilized for comedic relief, it pisses me off. So much so, when it was revealed that Daeun’s best friend, Yuchan, also has feelings for her I was displeased. For one, I’m not the biggest fan of love triangles and I think they’re just filler content used to complicate the plot and make the story so dramatic. I literally swore that no matter how much I enjoyed the show, if Daeun ended up with Yuchan the show would lose a whole star on Mydramalist. But thankfully she ended up with Dr. Dong and I could rate the show a full 10 stars.
Besides the romances I really like the patients stories. If you’ve watched the show Tomorrow and enjoyed it, you would like this show too. I really liked how they dived into the patients backstories and showed what led up to their mental health issues, while also explaining what their sicknesses are and how it affects them in their everyday lives. It also talked about prejudice and stigma that lies around mental health issues which I think will really help change people’s minds. I didn’t even think I had any stigma or prejudice until I watched the show. So not only was it entertaining, but also informative.
I cried so much too. I couldn’t help it. The characters were portrayed so well and it just kept making me sad thinking that a lot of people go through things like what appeared in the show and are affected mentally. The show just helped show how ordinary people going through things many people can relate to can get sick. And I liked how there were always connections between the patients and nurses to show that we’re all similar, just some aren’t strong enough mentally to get through it by themselves. Like the working mother case. I didn’t even know pseudo amnesia was a thing! But when the doctor made her write about some important events in her life and how she felt during those times and then highlight all her negative emotions that made me cry. You could really see how she realized what her life has been for a while. She noticed that she’s felt a lot of negative emotions and a lot of it was from balancing being a mother and having a job. After that she saw the similarities in Nurse Song and gave her advice. And it was really nice seeing although she was the patient, she was giving insight into Nurse Song’s life so that she did that end up like her. I think the reasons I cried so much in this show was because it was hard to see ordinary people change so much mentally because of the world around them.
Lastly I want to talk about Kim Seo Hwan. OH HOW I CRIED!! I actually loved this patient so much! I just knew his story would be a big deal seeing as he was Daeun’s favorite patient, I was just dreading it. Thinking back on it I think it only made sense that his character died. Not just because it helped move along the plot and further played into Daeun's plot line, but because it was important. I think it was important to show how not everyone wins the battle. Seo Hwan’s story was a story that I’ve heard/seen in so many South Korean dramas and true stories. I think the feeling this character felt is something a lot of people can relate to, and seeing his death might help someone out there like him. I really liked how they focused on how much his death affected others. It might help someone who’s considering the same path that he did to not make that choice because the people around them might be just as sad. I’m not that good with my words but I think overall this was an amazing show that dealt with some real world topics and can help a lot of people become more familiar with mental illness and those that suffer from it.
