I totally get you. The ML in this story is the kind of silent protector, a mouse barely hears him… it’s disappointing. The women basically do all the fighting and scheming. The 2nd ML is the only exception. He has been the strongest pillar of FL‘s revenge from the get go. But ofc he will never amount to the love the FL has for the ML.

I enjoy the show so far. The plot is the type of narrative that I think is exciting but is also very simple. Each character is plagued by their shape of misery. The FL is extremely pretty and clever. So far, the ML is terribly underwhelming in my eyes. He is too passive for my taste. He seems always late to the party and rather says a few warnings and that’s it. He is the CEO but he seems to know little about the bullying among his employees. He is also very blind if it’s about his ex gf. He has no idea how dirty her schemes are. He only seems to see the FL‘s schemes… But I still have hope? I guess? As soon as he knows about who the FL is, I hope he joins her revenge. (Also, all these men‘s wigs 😂)

Hours have passed since my first watch of the 5 released episodes and I am already thinking about a rewatch. For the record: this has never happened before. I am still thinking about that scene on the battle field when He Simu performed a song for the general. It felt intense and magical.

Hm, it depends. Generally I don’t like anything that makes my heart bleed. I start watching shows and often never finish them bc cdramas tend to squeeze the most tragic scenes in the latter half of the show. For now Dilraba‘s character set up as a very powerful individual gives me great confidence that she will be almost untouchable (for now). So I am really enjoying it rn. + I get your feelings about worrying you might miss out on certain details. But I guess I am simple in that way: I cannot miss smth I don’t know exists. And I like being kept curious about something. That’s how the effect of a mysterious character stays fresh.

You‘re quite quick! I also need the assurance that it’s a happy ending, to prepare myself for an eventual heartbreak. But we never know what’s going to happen in this adaptation. These 5 episodes were just an appetizer and I bit right through it.

I like it when a tv show changes details as such to make thinks more sensibel. It hasn’t been long since you‘ve read this novel to rmb these details as it seems.

Thank you so much for your elaborate answer. I also quite enjoy the visuals and almost always read the novel a tv show is adapted from to quench my desire for spoilers; especially if it’s that exciting. But since I don’t have to wait for another week for new episodes, this will not be necessary.

How close does the tv show seem to go along with the plot of the novel? I am thinking about picking up reading the novel as well
