When Type was sleeping on Tharn's bed, drunk and vulnerable, I badly wished for Tharn to be a gentleman and not use this oppprtunity to assault Type, he was supposed to be the good guy, the victim of Type's homophobia, yet he ended up just being a horny predator, using sexual assault as a way to "teach" Ttpe a lesson...
Same here, I didn't watch many BLs but so far Jack and Shorty are my favourite ones, there was something very pure and sweet in their relationship and the actors did a great job portraying it.
The plot lacked depth, especially when dealing with sensitive subjects like sexul assault and pedophilia, also Tharn's character was badly written, he was supposed to be a character that proves that prejudices against gay pepole are wrong, but his behavious at the beginning of the drama was contradictory and controversial...
There are so many things i didn't like about this drama: the step brothers romance was awful, Li Cheng was to pushy and too impatient toward Muren. I liked Muren's character a lot though, he nailed his performance and he's gorgeous ! Not my favourite one from the HIStory series.
The drama was good over all, I Enjoyed it, but i felt it was lacking something, maybe more push and pull moments between the leads, more sexual tension, more danger, giving the fact it's a love story between a cop and a gangster. Chris Wu fitted perfectly the character, he had the gangster boss aura, and his fashion was wow ! but he lacked a little bit with the emitional scenes Jake was also perfect for the impulsive childish stuborn and passionate cop. I started watching the drama for the main couple but ended rooting for the second couple, they were very cute and unproblematic, i wished for more scenes with them or maybe their own drama as leads in the future
Near the end of the drama there was a report of cats being poisoned by food, i think it was Jong Woo's doing, since he was the one buying them cat food.
Why do I feel that she had more chemistry with her fiancé, and his character was original, he was an artist, not the usual cliché stoic expressionless general/prince. I wished for them to be a couple and her developping feelings for him.
The first half of the drama was very funny and entertaining, they didn't need to stretch it to 30 episodes and add all those unnecessary political stuff, cdrama rom coms drag a lot they don't need more than 20 episodes at most, unlike serious political dramas that can go to 50 episodes without dragging.
