This drama is short but amazing, wish it were longer. It has some similarities to Word of Honor (WOH) but with much less heavy drama. One thing I especially loved is that even after the big reveal, the MLs never had any real or prolonged conflict between them. Their relationship felt refreshing and steady.
The action scenes were amazing, smooth, well-executed, and never out of place. There were no unnecessary dragged-out fights where villains escape repeatedly just to reappear later. I’m honestly so tired of leads refusing to go for the final blow, so this was a big breath of fresh air for me XD. However, for the final scene, it would have been better if they showed a more extended fight, especially for such a powerful leader to just die without a real battle. It was a bit disappointing. Also, Ayu/Ye Yu not having a real fight scene towards the end felt like a missed opportunity (although I understand his circumstances, but still).
I didn’t like how tragic the ML’s life seemed to be. It felt like everyone he calls family just dies. It was constant hardship, and while I understand it’s part of his character arc, it was sad.
The story is very straightforward, which I love, but because of that, it ended up being quite short. Still, the visuals were beautiful, from their ethereal looks to the costumes, music, scenery, atmosphere, and overall ambiance. If I could change one thing, it would be the flute-playing scenes—I wish the actual flute sound had been the main focus over the background music.
The acting was great and never felt awkward. My only real complaint is that it was too short, and the ending was sad. I’m still hoping we’ll get news about a secret ending, fingers crossed!
Would rewatch again and again, well some parts would definitely be skip.
