You are right! This drama is the turning point for both actors back in 2020. Allen Ren continue to have another 4 hit dramas after that with Autumn Cicada follows closely in the later half of 2020. And Seven Tan was in many memorable productions as well.

And yes on their chemistry! It was effortlessly sizzling.

Same! I had hope until the last sec of the drama and then it ended and I knew they wont even give me that. 😭 Then I sobbed real hard after that. But it makes sense, since it was an explosive building. He nor other people got magic power to fly through that.

Both, the face card and acting skills. All the 3 main actors have both (and known for it in the industry) and since this is an emotionally heavy charged drama with multi layers conflicts, they need someone who can deliver in both aspects.

Actually, the reviews are more positive than negative. This drama is a huge blockbuster hit in China way back in 2020. Its one of those drama that was released without any expectation or marketing but become so popular due to good words of mouth. Now it recorded more than 100M/ep (something that not many dramas managed to do) and still being aired a lot of times at cable TV. The casts definitely made the drama worth a watch.

This drama didnt really focus on the romance but more on plot and investigations. I would say the romance is only a subplot but the leads' chemistry is definitely amazing. They are effortlessly sizzling together.

I actually enjoy this drama very much despite its not really my favorite genre. The costume are literally the best and I actually enjoy watching the chemistry between Ren Jialun & Li Qin surprisingly. This drama actually one of iQiyi hit dramas for year 2022. Somehow Ren Jialun & republican dramas always works.

I think for most Cdramas fans, this drama is a must watch since it really show what Cdramas are really good at which is showing intense & deep love even without being physical. And its gonna crush you but fear not as you have Forever & Ever to heal after that. Highly recommended. This drama and Forever & Ever is my favorite love story of all time.

One of the most beautiful and heartbreaking love story. Ren Jialun & Bai Lu did so well. You can feel their love from every longing look, small loving gestures and stealing glances. Truly a wonderful story that is poignant and will linger for years to come.
