The thing is, I'll probably really like this drama, but I can clearly tell its going to pull on my mental, so I'm just going to avoid it until my heart is ready to take on the pain. Same reason I still haven't watched First Frost. I just can't handle stories that feel too real.
I don't know why I expected anything more when I'm already the biggest hater of transmigration plot. I already knew I'd be dissapointed with the ending, and it surely did dissapoint.
Anyway, the journey through the 33 episodes was an enjoyable ride and I loved Sima Jiao and Liao Tingyan as a couple so this drama also has its positives.
Ep 11, Respect to Caihe man. I think she developed feelings for Qin Chen but despite that, she did not let it cloud her goal of revenge which I do not blame her for at all. Respect. All those years of serving that family day by day just biding her time for the truth to be revealed. Insane level of dedication.
I dont know why after 40 episodes of this my main takeaway is "Zhen Yu....respect " lmao. Like that guy worked so hard for nothing in return just to bring back his master and left with absolutely 0 regrets. Damn. But I'd like to see this actor again though, he was so cool despite being a villain.
Tired of the fucking secrets. Like 17 episodes in, we are still in freaking Beixuan, the FL and ML have have slept together and even talked about their stance on kids yet we're still keeping secrets?? and the FL is so fucking closed off oh my Lord. I can't stand this shit no more.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking... She definitely has the charisma for her modern badass roles, but idk about…
Yesss this is what my similar post was trying to convey. She didn’t give the dignified graceful look we've come to associate with being a queen in historical kdramas. But maybe that's a plot twist? Maybe her character is actually a badass in disguise but she fell upon the role of Queen and now has to "play" it while keeping her badassery(?) underneath? Which would then justify why her aura as Queen looks off (intentional or not).
Idk man, I'm not liking Jung Seo's look as Queen here. On first impressions alone, she just isn't selling it for me. Her look in the gold costume in the trailer just doesnt seem right.
Just did a rewatch in anticipation of S2 coming out!! Sad to see there's only going to be 30 eps, but I hope they're able to conclude the entire story in S2. I don't think I have it in me to wait another 100 years for a potential S3 😩
He Lan Dou's (Yang Ying) acting truly blew me away. I personally feel her and Alen were the standout acts in this drama. They really pulled off the emotional and heavy scenes extremely well.
Anyway, the journey through the 33 episodes was an enjoyable ride and I loved Sima Jiao and Liao Tingyan as a couple so this drama also has its positives.
