How is the abuse/trauma victim more antagonistic than the person with anger management issues, how does that work? Seems like the only way for women to stand up for themselves in these dramas is to manipulate, bully, or physically hurt others. The ML is written to be the good guy in pretty much every situation compared to the girl. Also you could remove the mental illness from this drama and it wouldn't affect the plot much.
Drama was fine after Ep 4, my main gripe is the usual "toxic women" tropes and stereotyping of women. Came for a crazy romcom and stayed for Sang Yeop. I didn't have a problem with the ending, very little happened in this drama tbh lol.
I mean yeah the plot/characters in these are always bad and weird because they make everything exactly like the comic, but I enjoyed this more than other smut adapted to jdrama series. It was goofy but like, most of the the love scenes were still hot. 🤷 Male actor was pretty expressive too, well, at least a little more expressive compared to how the actors in these "smut" jdramas usually are.
Over halfway done (ep16), I personally don't have any glaring issues with the ML, though him falling for the FL felt unconvincing. There's a scene that was kinda hyped up in the first ep but when it actually happened it felt a bit out of nowhere. Writing is a little off in some parts but I'm having fun, no annoying characters (even the purposely annoying characters are likeable), haven't had to skip a single scene which is crazy. Very cute + funny show so far.
I forgot to mention there's so many side love interests for the FL. Very goofy and unnecessary lol
Well the actors were incredible of course but the characters were not great to say the least, weird misogyny plotline + manipulation. Feel like the writers didn't know how to properly move on from that and just neatly brush things under the rug to get to the romance plot, which really is just "you're different from other girls". Unrelated - Mi Ran's martial arts, INSANELY cool 🤌
It's bad, I'm not going to continue. Genuinely makes me ill how women are portrayed in asian media sometimes where the female lead is this "ill-mannered, immature brat" who is always in the wrong, even though at the same time the male lead is being manipulative and possessive towards her.
Actually fun looking plot and probably enjoyable mid way through the show but so far filled to the brim with pretty unnecessary stereotypes.
Only on ep 4 but just wanted to say fl is not annoying, she's just spunky. She's even able to stand up for herself in a fight without having to depend on other characters which was a shock. Comments had me scared and honestly ep 1 was boring but it's good so far. Funny enough the ml was the one I found annoying at first.
The comments are accurate. Watched up to ep 7 or 8 then skipped everything that wasn't main couple, their chemistry kept me watching. Enjoyably goofy show, remove the side characters and it's a great watch.
