I agree with you. If a tv show or movie storyline falls in a certain direction base what they reveal to us in the beginning of a show, what is use of cliffhangers or a surprise twist. Do we remember exactly everything in our history when we are younger than 4 or 5 years old? I know for a fact I don’t remember everything. It was very hazy before 4 years of age. I can remember at 5 years old attending my first day of kindergarten and my teacher. Mari’s memory could be distorted due to this traumatic event. Or she could be thinking of what would had happened if HW was still with them and playing in the HS and JT. The first time we saw that scene the oldest child was not in that memory. However, the second time, he was in her memory. I feel there is more going on with the mystery of Mari that we do not know at this point. Judging by JT response when she questioned him concerning HW biological father, he seemed confused. Yes. I understand your frustration and confusion but there a many different hidden secrets in this story. We have to wait and see. She knows she did something bad to SJ and SY. If not, why block SJ’s father from telling her the truth. She attempts to downplay her bad deeds to avoid repercussions for her actions. Her husband and MIL always forgives her when she wines about her own woes. Na Young and her mom has never really suffered any traumatic experience in life. They floated by in high style why SJ and SY was abused. They have never been on the receiving end, so they have no empathy for others. Na Young has always been taught to take and abuse those around her due her mother’s selfish mentality. Remember how she stole the dress and was angry because Doo-Ri questioned her.
