"especially knowing they are friends in real life" okay and? they chose this. first and khaotung are adults and professionals, they make their own decisions especially when it comes to acting. they wouldn't have picked these roles if they found this uncomfortable for them. in fact, they repeatedly said how they where able to play those kind of sinces /because/ they are best friends irl and trust each other so much.
about the story, it's supposed to feel rushed and way-to-fast when it comes to kantbison. it's only episode 3, you think that's gonna be it? it was made clear in the very first episode how it's gonna be about betrayal for both couples but mostly for kantbison, so I really don't get the "I want more plot" it's the beginning?? no one is in love yet??? which character has his development in the first 3 episodes of a series???? come on
just watch something else, it's not like slowburn soft bl are hard to find
I'm gonna be honest here, I couldn't watch the "Rise Up" scene at all, as soon as Style sat down and it became clear that he was going to talk bullshit, the second-hand embarrassment but also the genuine frustration became too much to handle... I had to skip the whole scene

the ex could still be a problem for both Sand and Top if the theory about Top and Sand being brothers turns out to be true; because Sand said he knows who his father is but maybe he doesn't know that he is also Top's father - and I'm thinking maybe they could find out the truth around the same time the ex comes back? in that case it would bring back everything full force with an added layer…

Just thinking about the fact that we only saw 1/3 of the series and yet so much has already happened – my theory is that all the things they put in the trailer (or almost all of them) are from the first half of the season; in fact, if we don't count the scenes we're gonna have in episode 5, there are very few scenes left we haven't seen yet, and that leaves us in the dark for the second half of the season.
I'm thinking maybe the first peak of the series, as Khaotung said, could be reached when the truth about Top and Boston sleeping together comes out? Will Ray fight with Boston in episode 5 for that reason? And will Sand realize Ray is in love with Mew following that argument? Maybe that's why/when SandRay's "Focus on me for once, will you? / What are we to each other?" fight happens... I'm also thinking about the fact Mew will probably fully sleep with Top in episode 5 or 6 and if soon after that he learns the truth we could also have the "Why do I have to learn about this shit on the day I already love you and gave you everything?" scene.
