Staring 15 episode is the best episode after that ML become side character ML was a general but he just sit on…
I didn't felt it here as much as I felt it in Legend of the Female General. But I agree sometimes it feels like they want to give "women empowerment" vibes so much that some scenes, context and history wise, become, at best confusing, at worst ridiculous. I'm not gonna lie I'm one of those who like strong FL so I kind of asked for it and participated in this trend, but while loving it, I feel like there should be some balance, female power doesn't mean weak male. and vice versa.

considering all the issues you've mentioned, an 8/10 is too high of a rating for a drama you wanted to drop
I see that now and I’m sorry, I wrote this directly after finishing it so I was still disappointed and talked only about bad things. But there was some good things about it, like the acting, the romance « enemy to lover » trope (at least at first), rewriting the history (the drama’s based on), the creation of dishes.
The fact that it just was good enough of a drama for the first half, I genuinely thought it was at 8,5 level.
It’s only 2/3 into it that I found it a wee bit boring and the plot didn’t have so much substance. Finally, I had too much of it on episode 11 and that’s when I wanted to drop but with 1 episode left, I decided to finish it.

I feel betrayed by the final
What do you mean "it's a secret" how he traveled 500 years into the futur? wdym you "don't care how because you're now together"??
It gives lazy writing vibes... and that's really not ok at this point.
Maybe it's a way to tell us "ok, dramas are not logical most of the time and you, viewers, often disregard logic and consistency because you want a happy ending... So here it is because that's what you care for the most, isn't it?"
No, sometimes I care as much about the journey as the outcomes. Some silliness is tolerable but I like my dramas the most consistent possible.
I'm reconsidering the 8.5 rate I gave and finally give it a 8/10 because even if it feels like a 8.5, the fact that I wanted to drop it, that I barely finished it by "chance" make it not worthy of a 8.5.
Plus, considering that even if the actors were great, I didn't feel like the overall chemistry was THAT good. I feel like ML felt more emotion eating his food than sharing some time with FL.
Looking back, it's not a feeling, it literally what happened all along : big, great, ecstatic reactions when eating, but a fish kiss when together...

I don't expect realisticness, just as you said from the moment she went into the past the first time we knew to…
I don't know what to think of it. I agree the back and forth was confusing at some point.
And I know her decision were not the best and knowing what I know I'm obviously sure that I will have chose other options if it were me.
But first time she time travelled, she wasn't aware she was the cause of his death and thought it was just depression, so by giving him a different path she thought he will not have to bear that.
Only after her kidnapping did she understood she was the reason SunJae got involved. She then tried to distance herself from him, which is not so illogical. She rejected his feelings, she rejected him. At that time, she still didn't know he was so deeply in love he will never really let her go.
So SunJae being SunJae, he was not willing to give up on her. And her being so in love with him, her willpower ended up breaking. Not the best situation but nothing abnormal in human behavior.
When she stayed behind in the village it was exactly that : she knew there was something bad coming and made sure SunJae was not there. Knowing he will never let her behind alone, no matter what, she made up a plan. She litterally made sure he boarded the train to go back home and she herself exited it last minute so he wasn't able to follow. She made sure he understood that she was a different person (playing her 19yo self) so he has no reason to go after her. Of course nothing dramatic would have happened if she had stayed in that train, but again, it's because we know what we know and she didn't have that knowledge at that time. Yet again, the decision was stupid but her plan was not so illogical.
Finally, I don't think she took the time travel for granted, the last time she did it with her watch, she litterally said "This is the last time for real" (ep.9 - 22'37). Then, she was absolutly sure SunJae's death was link to her and that it was her last chance, so maybe that's why she made such drastic plan later, ensuring he was in the other side of the country when the bad things she saw coming happened.
So for sure I do not agree with a lot of her decisions but I understood them to some extent, for me it was bad and probably stupid but not contextually illogical .
PS : so sorry for the bad grammar/errors, english is not my native language <3

I understand what you mean and yes some decision she made seems stupid but on that I feel like I can't question others behavior because everyone react in their own way with whatever tools they have and can use at that moment. It's a psychology fact and it's profusely used in movies and dramas to support the plot. I feel like sometime it's just laziness from directors and producers but if I have to question every stupid action I saw in a movie/serie, I will stop watching everything alltogether...

seeing how this drama has so many haters but still has a 9/10 rating makes me feel good.
Giving it less than a 7 or 7.5 means it’s given by no-arguments haters living only for the sake of hating.
Of course it has some flaws and it’s a fluffy rom-com using classic kdramas codes so, for some, I understand that it can feel like deja vu or cheesy but I loved it and always felt emptiness when it ends even when I rewatched it.
The drama in itself is kind of binge worthy, the OST is really good, the chemistry is fire, it’s totally fictional but it makes sense enough, and finally I loved that the drama focus on the love story and the dedication of the leads to save each other no matter what.
It makes me forget about the little «plot holes » some critics bring up.
Like how the time machine works (sorry but as soon as she time travelled for the first time, I decided to not try to find a logical explanation because we’re obviously in a supernatural world that doesn’t use our real world rules).
Or like why the villain is villain (some perverts psycho choose a victim and don’t let go of her until they do what they want to do to her, there is no explanations to seek as they are just psycho who do evil things because they enjoy it. To be noted that often in kdrama, rap¡st are not named directly, it’s often implied by the character’s behavior to keep the drama out of dark sides and keep it fluffy, but I definitely think that the villain here is that type of psycho stalker, and do we really need an explanation for this type of behavior in a rom-com?)

Indeed, I saw Zhang Linghe in her in some angles. She really look like ZL. And hoping they will have drama together,…
I would love to see them both in the same drama too!!

She really was perfect in the role of He Yan (Legend of Female General), but anyone noticed that she looks like Zhang Linghe? It feels like a female version of him. Or he is a male version of her. Anyway, I was so much taken aback by their ressemblance all throughout LOTFG and thought how can she be so feminine while convincingly impersonating a male general??

Review Kill Me Love Me Spoiler
About Red flag ML, yes it would have been great to have a red flag, that's the trend. But it was obvious from the start that he wasn't a red flag, he was just wrongly accused. He was the good brother, never hurting innocents, etc... so I don't know where we can be desapointed. If anything, we were promised a crazy and insane ML (as in a not sane and mentally deranged ML) but I'm not into that for romance stuff so I was glad it didn't take this path.
If you want one, the brother was the true red flag, burning everything and being mean to everyone except 2FL. And he died a red flag in her arms... So what we were promised was what we ot.
Like you, I noticed the badass female who ended up protected by ML because she can't fight. It usually irks me but here it didn't bother me. First, she stayed a badass for the most part of the show. Second, she fought more than ML and her battles were as decisive as ML's. Third, they take her martial art away from her with poison but she still found herself in a few dangerous situations, held on and fought until ML came. For me, even if she lost her physical strength, she never lost her fighting spirit.
The ennemies to lover was respected in my opinion. Even if they played lovers really quick, we could feel that it was a forced collaboration for both, they didn't enjoy their time together at first. They didn't fall for each other until past episode 12, became real companions on episode 14 and lovers on episode 18. That's a good enough pace for me (who's not watching a romance to see the leads hold hands 2 episodes before the last...). Plus, he was the reason for her disease and the origin of her death and until last episode, we could not forget about that.
To some extent, I accept those critics and I understand where it comes from but I can't totally agree with it.
The craziness happening between episodes 27 and 29 was for sure some crazy crazy stuff. Nonetheless, I decided to forgive that because I really enjoyed my time there and I think I can enjoy it again (almost as much) when I decide to rewatch this drama later. Because I do want to rewatch it.

The first time I'm watching a drama not totally released but I want to show all my support
Those first 3 episodes are sooooo great, so much emotions in them I'm still processing and can't wait for the next 13 episodes...

Ok so the drama is completed and it's the best rom com drama ever.
It's sweet, it's fun, it's all second hand embarrassment but never ever cringy, it's all well executed.
The leads are perfect in their roles. Once you see them together, you'll never be able to see any other actor playing the role. It's like they were born to be Im Sol and SunJae.
The final is perfect and not at all boring even if it re-use classic kdrama final episodes codes. There is no deja-vu sensations but only sweet longing. It's hard to accept that it's now finished and, at the same time, it brings us a beautiful closure to the story.
And last but not least, the entire OST is one of the best. I listen to it in loops and I keep playing it in my car...
I'm supposed to be a grown woman and whatever but how many time Did I find myself clapping like a crazy girl with a big fat smile on my face when ML and FL reunite? How many times did I act like a stan for the leads and fangirling on every plateform existing?
(By the way vote for Kim Hye Yoon and support her on https://www.polltab.com/ORR7qvWo1Orw )
4 Days have passed and I'm still not able to concentrate properly on any other drama because I unvoluntarily daydream about Lovely Runner so many times that I need to go back and rewatch the scenes trying to move on...
This drama is going directly into my to-rewatch list.
