I have a different interpretation of this drama. I do not think the message was that you should keep living for other people's sake. For me, the main message was that there are always reasons to fight and you never know what the future brings. There are bad days and good days, but with the help of others, working together you can always find a solution. In life, the most precious things are family, friends, and love. It also showed that you never know 100% what is going on in someone else's life. That is why you should pay attention to and help those close to you. Sometimes you just need to observe things from a distance to not be caught up in them. Different perspectives can help you realise that your life is meaningful. You should help those in need (that is also a great purpose in life). Of course, it is easier said than done, that is why the ML had to go through all those events. He learned his lesson that life is everything, and nothing *is* the alternative. Also, yes, it does not really give concrete solutions to real-life problems.. It talks about ideals. But honestly, I think that even this is good in some sense because it makes people think about these topics and hopefully take action. Otherwise, I agree that there was so much potential in this drama, I wish they developed some parts in more detail..
Wow, the 11th life!! I wish they made it a bit more dramatic.. Or did the ML go through so much that it barely affected him? Honestly, it felt a bit weird that he did not have a stronger reaction (however, he did not have too deep emotions at other times either..)
I rarely watch dramas of this genre, but I love it so far!
Also, the high school scenes in my op are a good idea, not only because of the storyline, but to contrast the characters' lives in the present as well.
My biggest problem with this drama is that I'm so annoyed by the 'academy system'.. I would be 100% on the school teachers' side if they weren't portrayed in a bad way..
I wish they did not make the 'brother' the culprit! I was hoping for an ending similar to Rookie Historian's.. (Well, we kind of got it, but not with the brother, but with the secretary guy..) Making the brother/stepmother to be evil is nothing new.. I was expecting a little twist there.. Like the 'brother' protecting his mom, but in the end, it could have turned out that he was wrong and the mom is innocent.. and actually, the father is guilty... (also btw if the brother hadn't killed their father (and ML's mother - someone else could've been the culprit) then he would've just become the CEO as the ML would have stepped down and the brother was very well qualified.. I'm so angry about this)
I think 8.1 is a bit too low for this drama, 8.3 would be more accurate compared to the other ratings on this site. I did not quite like ep 1 (and 2), but later on I liked the dynamics of the Mom-Daughter. Its a good slice of life drama!
