About Phaya there are two probabilities- 1. The amulet he had (wansarut's soul), it saved him and made him land to safe place. 2. In the last scene, Saint appears as Phaya's older brother. So it can happen that he saved him (we can also see the yellow light when Phaya was falling down)
About Tharn, then most probably Chalothorn took him there to see Phaya for the last time before taking him away.
