The main couple should have been Korn and Ton Kla
4 Minutes is okay but it got me so confused of what is really happening that I don’t think that the show really worked. The story is about this rich kid and a doctor that got entangled in this crazy family drama but it is also about a character named Great, rich kid, who got the ability to see 4 minutes to the future. Now, I will have to say that the premise is good and that the premise is strong. We have a good set of characters here and they are put in the story so well that I think they were able to serve their purpose. The love story of Great and Tyme felt more secondary to the story which I won’t mind but their love story is not even as interesting as the love story of the secondary couple of the show – Korn and Ton Kla. The time travel aspect of the show is where things got a bit trippy and I feel like the execution I confusing. The story on its own is pretty good already. The story is interesting because we have a strong family drama with the story of Ton Kla and Korn. Bas as Korn is just really good. The character had a good character development and we got to see him try both options that he was put in and it is actually sad to see how his character ended because we got such a good portrayal and a good contrast to what is happening to him mentally. It must have been hard for him to be in such position where he cannot do so much but had to so many things. His relationship with Ton Kla took a very tragic turn considering that they are both cheating on each other for different reasons but they died together. They are in a very sexual relationship and we got to see the naked body of Bas in this show and I will never complain. I feel like the love story of Korn and Ton Kla had so many good scenes and the story is just more interesting. There was a point in the show that I was wishing that they could have been the leads and the show will focus more on their perspective. Compared to them, the love story of Great and Tyme fails to deliver that and the time changes were just pretty much confusing that everything that happened in the first five episodes were erased in the sixth episode as they go back to the timeline. Basically, what they did is to show how things will actually happen if the four minutes thing will not occur and the way it changed the story is not even that drastic. Therefore, the entire phenomena felt very much unnecessary as the events will all still be the same. This is what is disappointing because this just says that everything that we watched so far were erased and that we just wasted our time. It is just bad storytelling and writing in the main storyline and I feel like I invested in the wrong story considering how slow things were in the first few episodes and how quick it is for the sixth episode to catch us all up to what happened. This is all a miss and I am a bit disappointed. I also would have wanted to see more of them together because the interest with their love story never really picked up. They have few good scene here and there but they have spent most of their times apart and the romantic relationship was never really or strongly established. This is where my dismay is and I feel like the concept that we got introduced to at the beginning really meant nothing to the main story line since we just got to hear it again in the last episodes in a few seconds before the end but, other than that, there is nothing there. The story is basically just 3 episodes long and that is it. It could have been so much shorter but this could still be so much better considering that Bible and Jes have good chemistry when they are together but they failed to use this in the show to its full potential. They are also very hot individuals and we got to see it. I am thankful for that. For the story, it could have been handled and executed for so much better. Was this review helpful to you?

I am IN LOVE
I would like to thank Tiktok for introducing this show to me because I have seen multitudes of spoilers of the show but watching it is a really different experience as I soon got the experience to really understand the context behind those clips. To be honest, I know no one who is watching this show so I am entering this with no recommendations except the ones from Tiktok. I am glad that I did tho because Yumi’s Cells is just really at the top tier of the Korean series that I got to watch because it is so freaking relatable. I have mentioned a lot that South Korea do know how to create the best love stories because they go deep into the psyche of the characters instead of just focusing on the idea of them being in love to each other. I think this is where Yumi’s Cells is winning because they managed to combine the character-driven story that we usually see in Korean series and love stories with the more romantic-centric Western movies. The result is one heart fluttering show that just made my heart melt whenever they focus on love and breaks it when the character is experiencing the same thing. I have read online that this is focused on the relationships that Yumi will be having so I am kinda digging the idea that there might be a second season. The story is about Yumi. I think that is a really good synopsis for the show because it is truly about her. We got to see how her mind works as we meet these animated characters who play vital roles in making decisions about her but one thing that I would command is the portrayal of Kim Go-eun. She is doing a lot of facial expressions because there are a lot of internal dialogues played by the voices in her head. She is not crazy. The idea is that we have these cells-type individual living inside us participating in different decisions that we commit creating one hell of a person. This may not sound so original since we watched something like this in Cells at Work or Inside Out but what really elevated this story is that it is not really focused on being criminally accurate like Cells at Work or as deep as Inside Out but what it is trying to do is to just introduce us to Yumi. We are shown as to how she thinks and we got to see how her mind works through these cells. Kim Go-eun is what helping all of this because she is really nailing the facial expressions of the internal monologues while keeping a very strong presence in the show. She is the main character and she is giving us what she is being asked for. It is a very cerebral performance and she is giving us that. It is also a romantic comedy and the way that her character Yumi is written is a bit different because she feels like someone that we can all relate to. Honestly speaking, I see myself in different characters so that is something that I really enjoy. I feel like Yumi is someone that I know or is me. Go-eun really brings life to her. Yumi, on the other hand, is a good character to follow because she is a complicated female character in a romantic comedy. I know that we do not usually get this kind of words for a romantic comedy but Yumi’s Cells captured that thought process that everyone has and they kept on going for it. They are committed making this show such a lovable one to watch. She is also the titular character. I like that she is not the typical female Korean character because she objectifies Goo Woong too. I am not saying that objectifying is good but it is a difference that I am actually interested in. Her story is more matured than what we usually see and this is a perfect character study of who she is and how one’s mind works. The scene where she had to call it off with Goo Woong in the 13th episode of Season 1 made me cry. It is such an overwhelming scene because I spent most of my time falling in love with the love. My heart flutters whenever I see them together and them breaking up is something that I expected and knew of but the execution is impeccable. Go-eun’s facial expression and the way Yu-mi’s mind worked in that particular moment is amazing. I love how that sequence was made because we got to see a side of her that is a bit different. We saw a version of her that we did not want to see because we all have been in that situation and we knew how heartbreaking it would all feel. This is a genius moment of the show and I approve what they did.
For the first season, we focused not really on her first love but the love after she got dumped. The interesting thing about this love story is that the way it started is really good. She met Goo Woong when she was set up for a blind date by Chae U-gi who is the guy that he actually wants to be with. Side note, before I talk more about Goo Woong, Chae U-gi is played by Choi Min-ho. His character is actually gay and I am quite surprised with this twist since that is something that we do not usually see in a Korean series. We have a very handsome character who is gay and I am in love with this idea. I wish to see more of who he is as well. Now, let us go back to Goo Woong. He is played Ahn Bo-hyun. He is a game developer who happened to be insanely ripped and one of the hottest Korean actors that I know but his character seemed very reserved with his emotions except when he first met her. I love their first meetup because we got to see another character’s village of cells and how they work. The good thing about this is that they really followed a strong narrative with this character by really building his character as this slightly shady character who is also very sweet with Yumi. There was this scene when they fought during Yumi’s birthday that is resolved by a very romantic exchange. This is something that I enjoyed in this show. The relationship of Yumi and Goo Woong is almost an ideal type of relationship that I am really digging it to a point that I want them to be the endgame and I kinda hated Sae-yi. I love their banters tho. Again, Ahn Bo-hyun is such a hot man and I loved the scenes where Yumi imagined him taking a shower when she first came in his house or the one where she booked the glass wall. Those are really sexy. I love Ahn Bo-hyun and I love Goo Woong but we have to admit that he is also a very complicated guy and we got to see a lot of different sides of him. I felt like he is a very sweet guy but at the end of the day, we got to see that he is still a man that we all know. He still got his pride and his extreme self-love became a hindrance for him to go through with what he wanted to say and do. We can all agree with that. We all have that voices in our heads and we can all agree that being in a relationship is hard because of it. Nevertheless, the relationship that he and Yu-mi had is such a beautiful experience that one can only hope for. It is beautiful. It is real and the ending where they met for the last time in the front of the fountain where they first met is such a nostalgic moment that gave us the same level of emotions but with different emotions with the characters. At the end of the day, we have to choose ourselves and be happy with the decisions that we make even though we know the pain that it will cause us. This is an amazing example of what love can be. It will not always be nice and beautiful. We have to face the reality for it will not always be what we expect. I truly commend the writers of this series because they knew what they were doing and they did an amazing job in highlighting this aspect of the story.
I also enjoyed seeing Jinyoung in the show. He is so handsome and I feel that he will be YHu-mi's next boyfriend and I love that they started as work friends and not romantically involved immediately.

SEASON 2 is a MUST.
The On1y One is a BL series from Taiwan and they really make good ones. I will be honest and be straight that this is such a good series and my only ick is that ending. I know that they are trying to set up a second season for this show but I am not sure if there will be one so I am a bit scared that this might be where things will be going. Anyways, before we start with the talks of the second season, let us first talk about the first one. The story is about Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian who are now forced to be siblings because Sheng Wang’s father and Jiang Tian’s mother are now a couple and they are now starting to live together. We have seen this kind of siblings to lover’s storyline but what makes this so good are the characters. I want to highlight that the relationship may have started as this cliché storyline that we have seen where they are fighting but end up together. I think you can say that it is in a way like that but what makes this so good is that the characters are amazing not just the lead characters but everyone in the story. It is important in making a good show and they were able to cast amazing actors here. On top of that, we also have an amazing writer and director that did not really let the story stale. It is flowing seamlessly and they really focused on letting the relationship between the lead characters grew so naturally that it convinces me why they are so close together. Sheng Wang is played by Liu Dong Qin who resembles New so much from Thailand and is the other half of my favorite love team in Thailand so I am immediately drawn to him. He is so cute and I think what really made this character so attractive is that he is smart and acts so cute. I will have to say that I even fell in love with how the character is portrayed. He is also very nuanced as we got a side story of a kid who really loves his mother who died so the fact that a new woman is taking in that position from her deceased mother is a bit hard for him and that is understandable but they did not play on the character recklessly. Instead, he is a very kind person who accepted her as part of his family but not a replacement of his mother but an addition to his family and that really is such a mature thing to do. I feel like we do not always get that kind of representation onscreen so that is much appreciated. We also have Jiang Tian who is played by Benjamin Tsang. The character is more reserved and is the top student. He is very stereotypical smart kid but what him so interesting to watch is how his character evolved from being someone who easily moves from one place to another to someone who have found his own place. I feel like he had to play a much darker character with all the trauma that he had to go through when he was younger. I think it was believed that his father is abusive but little did we know is that there is so much to the story. This is a miss for the show and I hope something that they will tackle more about because this is a good storyline and to leave it like that is just bad. Jiang Tian had more of the opening up to do here because he is the more reserve character but we also got amazing Jiang Tian moments at the end where he is showing so much concern for him and I love those moments regardless of how small they may all have been. It is such a sweet story to see Jiang Tian and Sheng Wang really have this connection that is just getting stronger as the story progress. Actually, the small details that they were able to put in is really highlighting how this relationship went pass being brothers and into lovers already because they are so romantic to each other already. They had so many good scenes together where they are so sweet but I would understand if they will take their time thinking about it considering how Jiang Tian first saw something like it and how they are still very young kids. I mean, just look at Xi and Linzi who are adults already and are still confused with it. I think I will forgive them if they are just letting the characters have some time to figure things out. I think that is okay and they are still young. I just want to make sure that we will have a second season and get a happy ending because the ending we got here is not really sad but they are apart. I think it will be not the best way to end such story considering how they are really pushing for it. Anyways, I just want to give a special shoutout to their friend group. I think they were really able to establish a good set of characters to be their friends here. They are so fun but Andy Chen as Gao Tian Yang is just criminally hot. He is the hottest and funniest boy in their class and I just instantly fell in love with this guy. He is so cute and the muscles are insane. INSANE. He is so hot. I wish we got to see his shirt off but we did not. He is so nice to everyone to and he had this storyline of him being into Little Pepper but she is interested in Sheng Wang. Now, this is another storyline that I wish they are trying to explore in the second season. We really need a second season for this show because there are so many loose ends in the story and I wish they release it now. I love and enjoyed this show so much that I am wishing to see more of it as soon as possible. Was this review helpful to you?

Sometimes, what we need is to repeat things before we fully understand them
Now, this is how you do a decent love story. The Blue Skies at Your Feet is not the best love story out there but it is a really good watch. One of the things that I look for in a love story is a good chemistry and that is what they have here. I really did enjoy the story of Miyu and Shuya. Well, it is basically a romance version of Groundhog day where we kept on repeating the same day that Shuya died but what made the movie so good are the characters. Why? Because they are so good. The romance aspect of the movie is just the same as any new love stories out there. It is about a young love face adversity but what it did so well is to make us slowly invested with the relationship by putting them in a fictional setup where they had to repeat things and the same results kept on happening. These moments established not just the story or the climax of the film but it brought the audience to fully invest with the relationship. We are invested in the relationship that we are not a part of becauae we are slowly falling for the characters. We are slowly seeing who these characters are within this relationship and outside the relationship. My favorite scene, and not surprisingly, is the final loop that she was in. The reason why I thought of that loop as the strongest is because we finally get to see Miyu fully commit to how she feels. This is a more mature version of the character. This is, in a sense, when she learned that what she really needed to do is to fully be honest with herself and be vocal about it. She also trusted him more in that scene and we even got a really romantic moment. I live for these moments and to see it there is just everything that one could hope for. This may not be breaking barriers or anything but I like the idea and the concept. Plus the execution is pretty good. This would surely be targeting the right audience and the performances by its cast is really good. I just really want to commend that too because they really nailed it with the sweetness and the more dramatic scenes. I really enjoyed watching this movie and I don't mind watching it again.

It is surprisingly enjoyable.
Bad Guy My Boss is a BL series from Thailand and it has 12 episodes and 1 special episode where only good things happened. In reality, this is just what I want to have literally in every show. Unfortunately, this is not what I can say about the entire show. It is not the most inventive story but it is pretty decent. I actually enjoyed watching these stories be revealed to us. The story follows a CEO and his long-term secretary that he is trusting everything to but, of course, there are some hesitations as he is someone who is known for having multiple sex partners. I am not sure how he is getting so much time to have sex with people since they are always busy but here, he is having sex with so many people but he has one person that is like a regular and he already formed a friendship with him. This will set the conflict in the story and a lot more will be happening as some past relationships might come into play. So, yes, this is a vey stereotypical love story from BL storylines with possible unnecessary storylines in between but I am a bit surprised with myself because I feel like I am enjoying the show. I am really liking what I am seeing here and I do think that the characters are actually interesting. There is something about James Prescott’s Elyes that just makes me fall in love with the character. I think it is the charm. The acting is not superb but the acting is okay. He does not have the typical six-pack toned abs that we see on tops in BL series but I feel like he is still so hot. The confidence and the dominating feel to his character is so sexy that I wanted a man like him ASAP. Like seriously, he was hot and there are so many times in the show where what he is doing is not okay or supposed to not be okay like tailing Pat when he is out with his ex-girlfriend, power tripping, or having extremely personal relationship with his employee but it somehow felt okay for the character because they have known each other for a very long time and they have shared so much space together that there is a certain level of comfortability that is unknowingly established between the two of them and I respect that. I mean, we all have been like Pat with our work but we did not get the handsome CEO or the other perks of the job. I also felt like Pat is a part of how the company was built already. He is a workaholic and they always have things to talk about despite having been together the entire day. I am seriously not mad and I so in love with the love story of these two. I know that there are some red flags here and there especially him having other affairs that he knows but he they were not together at the time and he did not have sexual relationship with Kim anymore when he decided to pursue Pat. He showed that he is serious but he had a hard time committing which is surprisingly more normal now than before but I get that. I don’t think that it is a bad thing as long as they are on the same page about it. Again, respect begets respect. If what they want is different or none would like to adjust theirs, they don’t have to be together. I think that in this one, they decided that the relationship that they have would be more important than anything else and that they decided to be together and I don’t see a problem in that. There are other hindrances like the corporate fight but that added to more scenes for them to be together and it is not a well-written storyline but it is not too bad at all. It is watchable at the very least. Again, I actually enjoyed watching the show. James Prescott is hot. The love story of Elyes and Pat is pretty sweet now. The special episode was necessary for me.Was this review helpful to you?

Must Watch
Triage is a BL that I did not really watch a trailer for but the first episode of the show is an amazing introduction to what the show is about. Triage is like a BL version of Happy Death Day and the Groundhog Day. The first episode is where we got to see what will happen but there is whole mystery as to what is really happening and what he needs to do. He just knows that he needs to be able to save Tol but he is unsure what it is that he needs to do. Now, I did not expect this and I was just expecting a show where Doctors will be lovey-dovey so seeing that we are going to see more of a serious storyline balanced with a really cute love story is more than satisfying for me. Basically, the story is about a doctor who is put into this time loop after a patient of his died. He, initially, did not want to save him because he smelled alcohol in him and we are introduced to what happened to him in the past where his sister was in an accident with another driver who is under the influence of alcohol. He, then, got into a loop that soon led to him trying to understand the person more. As mentioned earlier, I know nothing about this show when I decided to watch it but what really surprised me most about it is how well-made this is. It is literally one of the best BLs I got to watch mainly because of the concept and how they were able to weave all of the stories of the characters and build on them to create this surprisingly enjoyable piece of work. This is hard to do considering that they are following this loop. There is no tomorrow but what they did is to give the characters interesting storylines still that they were able to close flawlessly at the end. Usually, I tend to hate BL endings with how they are forcing emotional connection but this one is different. It is logical despite having a fantasy theme to it. I really commend the writers of this show. It is not an easy thing to do but they were able to successfully do it. I think it is important to really highlight this aspect of the show because this is not an easy thing to do. Tae and Tee plays Tin and Tol, respectively, and they brought these characters to life in the best possible ways. I am not forced to like them because they are already likable and their performances are more than enough to make me fall harder with them. Tae had to manage most of the episodes since he is the focal character who is working in the loop. He is the one with the memories of all of Tol’s death and he is the one to fall in love first with Tol. This is why I was a bit hesitant with Tee’s Tol but the last few episodes came in and we shifted perspective from Tin to Tol and Tee ate it up. He was a really good actor and I am super surprised with how well he was performing in this series because he manages to handle different emotions of the character while leading him to grow to be a much better character that is multi-faceted and well-rounded. I liked his portrayal so much because they are both eating it up and giving us what is needed from them. I would love to watch more shows from them but I would not want a second season for this show. They were able to wrap it all up with a beautiful bow at the end that really works well with all the active characters that we have. Sing and Gap are also a really good secondary couple. We had hints of them at the beginning and they were just suddenly together in the last loop but I am not even disappointed because they had so much good chemistry that it felt fine and natural. The story also talked about illegal harvesting of organs that is and should be illegal. It tackles a really dark story that they may not have fully handled well but given what they did, I think it is still good. I think what I love about this show that I am raving about it so much is that they are so damn respectful of the storyline and the characters as if they are actual people that I would love to meet. There is character development. There are cliches but this is not even as important as the main story. The moments that Tol and Tin are trying to make each other remember that they are actually in love are the best scenes of the series because the chemistry works so damn well. I think this is may be because they work together a lot and that these characters are simple enough to understand but complex enough to build an entertaining and serious story. It works also because the actors are really good. They have started showing us different storylines but they made sure that everything still made sense. I think that the writer and the director had a really tough job but they created a masterpiece here. Lastly, let us not forget that Manner of Death cameo of Tan and Bun. I mean, I will watch anything with Max and Tul.Was this review helpful to you?

I LOVE THIS SHOW
Love is Better The Second Time Around is a Japanese BL and, as the title suggests, this is not starting at the beginning but it is starting when two people who were former lovers were forced to meet again by the circumstances. Miyata is working as an editor in a news journal and they have a new writer that they like before he is a professor and he is providing good rates for them. He met him and he learned that it is Takashi who broke his heart when they were younger. He was in love with him but the story was short lived because he learned that Takashi had a bet with one of his closest friend that he will elope with him and he was hurt by this so he decided to not elope with him. This misunderstanding ruined their relationship and they finally got to speak about it when they were adult and this is where their new story begins. This is a good story but it had some interesting choices in between that might not have resulted to a strong finale for story. We got to see them already in love with each other but Miyata is fighting hard to not fall in love with him because he was extremely heartbroken with what happened and he is truly hurt. His main storyline is focused on not falling in love while the main storyline of Takashi is finally facing his mother who did not really accepted who he is. I actually like the stories of these characters because what they are facing are things that we can easily relate to and familiar with. There are so many people who are experiencing the same things that they are experiencing so seeing that it will soon be okay or that it might not never be can still be comforting because they can at least see that you will still find a way to fall in love with someone who will actually love you no matter what. The greatest flaw of the show is that it felt it ended when it is peaking which is what is my problem with Japanese BLs. They are changing the game but they are still quite short and they do not always get to tell the entire story that they want to be. There is so much potential for these two characters because they are so lovable. Personally, I understand the pain of Miyata especially knowing how he really put himself in this relationship and the fact that he might experience that kind of heartbreak again can truly be scary. I get why he is so afraid. At the same time, I get why he is so in love with him. Takashi is super handsome. I will admit that when that guy smiles, my heart flutters. He is a good partner. They are actually good partners here and they did not try to overcomplicate things and faced them up front so we got a really good story out of it which is truly beautiful to see. I wished that there could be so much more of these two but I am still happy with what we got.Was this review helpful to you?

Simple but really good
My Personal Weatherman is a Japanese BL about two people living together. They are not just roommates because they had an agreement when they were still in university that Segasaki will work hard so that Yoh can continue creating a manga and to live with him. This set up of theirs led to them having a sexual relationship where Yoh thinks that he is just there to be Segasaki’ housemate and sex partner but Segasaki thinks that Yoh is there because he is also in love with him and wants them to be more. This kind of romance is a bit different and I don’t think that it will be for a lot of people because they tend to be a bit more physical with each other and I feel like this is a bit kinkier than I would expect it to be. I truly feel that there is so much here than meets the eye. To be honest, I was initially unsure where the relationship is going or what nature it actually is considering that there might be so much more between them than meets the eye. The relationship felt a bit toxic at the beginning but this is more or less because there is so much misunderstanding between the two of them that when they actually started talking is when the story actually got better and it led to something more interesting which is surprisingly good. I really enjoyed so much of the story and how they are handling the narrative here. I think it is good that we got episodes that comes from different perspectives because it showed us that there is actually something good about this relationship and I slowly liked the show. I am slowly seeing the kind of story that they are telling and it is very much appreciated to see the characters have such amazing rapport and chemistry especially when they are being more truthful with each other which is a big part of the growth in this relationship. This is one of those shows that if they could have just talked more, everything will be better and I am happy that it did.Was this review helpful to you?

It is sweet.
At 25.00 in Akasaka is a BL from Japan. It is about two actors falling in love in the set of their new show. Basically, they are hired to play lovers in the show but emotions tend to be a bit more than what they expected as they learn that it really takes more to be in this industry. Asami is a more experienced actor who is known for his looks and Shirasaki is around the same age as him but he is a new actor. He is struggling to get roles so he is super thankful when he booked this one and wanted to give an authentic experience so he agreed with Asami to be his boyfriend. Little did he know is that Asami have been pining for him ever since they were in college and this will be the journey of them starting a more romantic relationship. This is a simple BL story and I am a sucker for a well-made BL from Japan. They are seriously giving us concepts here and there but this one is a bit simpler in terms of the story but what I like about this story is that the chemistry of the actors really is evident. This is a full-blown romance story and that is the focus here. They are so good together and it worked out just fine. They are creating a BL series within a BL series which is interesting for me because we are seeing the behind the scenes and the way that they made this series is interesting for me. The look is simple. You will be able to see when they are watching scenes from the BL that they are doing and the scenes that they are doing as the actors because of the cinematography. The more realistic tone is when they are just being themselves around each other and the BL scenes that they are doing in the show have more light in it. It had a more romanticized feel to it which is a good way to represent some BL series nowadays. It is surely an interesting journey between these two characters as they are trying to navigate how to admit to each other that they are interested. It is not irritating. It is actually quite romantic to watch the push and pull. Shirasaki is, obviously struggling with his emotions but they addressed it well. The addition of Nagumo Shoma as Yamase Kazuma is pretty entertaining too. He is such a strong guy and the abs is ridiculous. He is a fun character but he did not go much storywise. The romantic scenes are good. The ending is sweet and it is surely a feel-good show that I just enjoyed watching. Was this review helpful to you?

Simple, Lovely, Sweet
Naked Diner is a series that I have been meaning to watch because of its unique concept. I am not sure if I just read Naked and said to myself, I NEED TO WATCH THAT NOW, but what I am treated to is a really good love story and understanding who you are. Our lead character is Ichijo Sota who is a busy everyday working man. He is good at his job and he is very dedicated but he has one Quirk. He likes to eat naked because it is what he considers to be his liberation from the world and I do think that it does makes sense. Personally, I see the appeal of that and that is where the title came from. It is just a really simple concept and this is what this working man is following. He is also very handsome and the scenes where he is taking his clothes of are always the hottest, I must say. It is not the body that I would hope for but I do think that it is very sexy. Then, he received a letter from his grandmother who is already dead. She gave him the keys to her house and I feel like she is now giving it to him but this is where he met Mahiro who is this guy of the same age as his and the person who helped his grandmother when she decided to learn cooking cuisine in different countries. This is where the relationship started. Now, I want to start with the subplot about the grandmother because that is such a beautiful story between a grandmother and her grandson. It is simple but the way that the story is presented really highlights that bond and connection that will truly make you miss your grandmother. It reminded Ichijo that he had been so busy with work that he somehow forgotten why he is working for and this is such a common concept in Japanese shows but I feel like we need to still hear it more often than not because we are all so busy with our lives. It is sad. Then, we have the relationship with Ichijo and Mahiro. I, actually, understand both of them and their hesitations. This is why I feel like this is so good because the characters are both so relatable in terms of the push and pull that is happening. Mahiro is in love with him for a very long time now so it is understandable how afraid he is kissing him again because there are two options to it. One is that Ichijo actually likes him now but there is this other answer where he might not like him and that uncertainty of the situation that really scares him. Me too, I would be scared to be in that position if that will happen because that is such a real thing to happen. Ichijo is confused with his sexuality and is still unsure with how he really felt. This is why Komachi is such a good addition to the cast because she gave Ichijo a different side to the coin. They tried to be together but saw how he reacted. He gave us the female intuition that Ichijo needed so that he can fully understand what he is feeling and that is hard for Komachi but it is what Ichijo needed. I know that it sounds very selfish but I am glad that Komachi was such a professional about what happened. She is such an amazing female character too. She just fell in love with someone who is already in love with another person and he just does not know it yet. I understand the confusion that Ichijo is feeling and he may have never really liked or cared for someone like this before. He was really jealous of Kosuke that he admitted to liking Mahiro when he thought that he will be losing him. This is such a funny scene in the show and it was really romantic to see them finally admit to their feelings. This is a good show because it is challenging the viewers to challenge what they believe and understand. It is not asking them to take a side but instead is asking them to give these characters a chance to grow and they did. The ending is just a beautiful and lovely way to end the story. They are just together and accepting each other regardless of their weird quirk. Was this review helpful to you?

Perfect Propose is a BL from Japan. The story follows Hiro as he is visited by Kai who is his childhood friend that promised to marry him once they are older. This meeting le to them to reconnect with one another and to slowly learn more about who they are to each other. This is a short BL series with only six episodes and I feel like you will slowly fall in love with these characters as they are slowly falling in love with each other too which does not sound so bad at all. I think that it is a pretty cute story and it had some good ups and downs. The main story is focused of Hiro who is this overly worked employee. I don’t think that he is a workaholic but his job is taking away time from him to do anything else but the job and I feel like it is a relatable scenario to be in and there was this scene where he felt that he is not good enough to be with someone because he is just focused on really working which is quite sad but I felt that too when I was overly worked too. He is such a character that I can relate too and as much as I wanna say that his boss does not exist in the world, that is so not true. There are so many people who are forced to work their asses off for very little support from people around them and it is quite sad to see how universal this issue can be. On top of this, we have the love story with Kai which the storyline that is more focused on Kai and how he developed a sense of accepting bad things happen to him because they always do and that he does not want to be a burden to other people. There is that learned helplessness and not expecting things from people around him that is sad. This is something that they worked together to overcome and I think that is a good part of a relationship. I think that a good relationship is about finding a way to compromise for the things that we do instead of just accepting everything as is and this is what I enjoyed most about this BL, they are trying to be of support to each other and I think that is a nice thing to have. It is not one of those stories that will blow you away but it is simply a story that will make you think twice of how you live your life and decide whether it is good for you or not. I loved it.Was this review helpful to you?

Cooking Crush is another OffGun series and these two will always serve the chemistry because this is just really nice and sweet. The story follows a medical student who wanted to learn how to cook from someone he just met because it resembled the taste of the food that he liked when he was younger and when his mother was still alive. Little did he know is that this kid that he met is a culinary student who is the grandson of the owner of the restaurant that he loves. This is when things will get a bit more interesting as they try to navigate their feelings toward each other and learn that they are actually more than what they expected to be. They are actually in love. I think what we can say is that this follows the very standard rules of creating BL stories as it is very focused on giving us a romantic couple and sweet moments in between but what made me so invested with this story is the execution of the show. They did not try to make it overly complicated but instead made the characters pretty interesting by making them really focus on their ideologies. We got to see a really good shift with Ten’s character when he fell in love. You can see him clearly smitten with Prem and what is so good about this chemistry is that they are consistent. Again, they did not try to overly complicate the story and the main obstacle for the relationship is Ten’s dad and I understand why. The chemistry of Gun’s Prem and Off’s Ten is really good. I will be a sucker for a strong relationship and the fact that we got to slowly feel for these characters is interesting enough for me. They are in love with each other and they are showing us that by really working well with each other. It is a pretty good progression and it worked so well. It is like watching these two really play well alongside each other that everything felt effortless which is so simple to watch that I just really wanted to root for them and I think that is such a nice thing to have. They are a professional love team by now and it worked. The secondary couple as well is good. It had a more dramatic setup with Fire and Dynamite but they are okay. To be honest, I was more invested with Samsi and Metha. I am seriously rooting for these two together because their banter is so natural and was really funny if you will ask me. They have so much chemistry too but they were more a comedic partner here than anything else as Samsi ended up with Pang, Prem’s sister. I am a bit disappointed with that but who cares. I still think that the show delivered what it needed and the episode titles being different Thai dishes is just so smart to have. I really enjoyed how their culture was really highlighted with the food that they were making while presenting such a sweet love story. It is a good show. Was this review helpful to you?

Senpai, This Cant Be Love is a Japanese BL with 8 episodes. The story is about Yanase and Kaneda who have this mentor and mentee relationship. Yanase is an accomplished CG artist and Kaneda is this rookie who is working under him. He is his mentor and he is secretly a big fan of his to some weird extent and I am glad that they did not really went into this direction because the stalker vibe was something that would be a bit off. Also, they did not immediately have a relationship instead, things went a bit awkward with them and things got a bit off actually. I am not sure how to describe it but there are some moments at the beginning when the vibe was off but it was later explained as Kaneda being extremely shy about working with Yanase that he is completely unsure how to handle the emotions he had for him. I think it is quite understandable but I like how they are slowly being kind towards each other despite seeing semblance of a relationship starting with the two. I think it is a pretty standard story but what it lacks is something that would really pull you in to their story. There is a bit of a mixed bag here. I liked the idea of it being simple but I am a bit wishing that they added more to the story. I just really feel like the story flowed really well and I am waiting for a good climax but it did not really happen. It is not bad. It is just uneventful and I was kind of waiting for it. I think the time that they tried to separate for some time and things did not go back as planned was interesting enough to watch. The cuteness is there. Well, the chemistry is pretty good. I think that is something that I would like to commend because the chemistry is really strong. This is maybe the reason why I am really wanting to see more of their story together. The constant push and pull had its moment but it got a bit repetitive at some point which usually makes me mad but I am not hating this one. I think, at this point, you can sense my confusion but yeah, I would actually watch this show again because the chemistry is cute and it had sweet moments. I even think that the ending is pretty sweet but it just took a weird amount of time to go there without anything happening. I think that’s it. I don’t know what else to say.Was this review helpful to you?

It is okay and I enjoyed it.
I just finished watching To Be Continued. This is a Thai BL series and a partnership between Channel 3 and Netflix. I think I liked this show but not as much as you’d thought to be. I know that it is interesting and it is mature as we have two different timelines that are working to show us the love story of Ji and Achi. Ji is now a doctor and Achi is now a superstar but they have not met for ten years because of things that happened in their past. I think you can say that it was something that they had to deal emotionally and there is a good chance that a lot of the conflict in this show would not have happened if they could have just talked. This is a cliché that we have seen so many times in BL series now that I am wishing that there is still something else that is happening that would be more engaging than this but I will have to give it to the execution of the show because despite falling into a familiar territory, they still did a good job with the execution of the events that led to the finale. Yes, I am disappointed with the finale but I am not disappointed with the show entirely because they were still able to do as much as they could and it resulted to something that is actually quite enjoyable to watch. The relationship of Ji and Achi is separated into two storylines. We have the story of the past that is dealing with how it started and how it ended while the present is now dealing with a more mature Ji and Achi as they are now dealing with Achi trying to reconnect and rekindle his former relationship with Ji who is still broken by the past. I think I understand Ji in this situation the most as he is the one that Achi left heartbroken. The story of him pursuing him is actually kinda cute and I think the explanation did not seem as big or as deep as they initially have made it to be. I know that coming out is a hard story because I am gay, myself, but the way that they handled it in the finale could have been much better to make the inciting incident that broke them apart to make much sense. Luckily, we had pretty cute and fun 7 episodes prior to that reveal and I enjoyed it too. The secondary couple of Ki and Kambee felt more of a mishandled situation too. I feel like they are a cute couple but had so little scenes together that I did not even care about them. They could have had more scenes together to make it a tighter narrative. The family story of Ji and Ki is not too bad but I am not sure why the father is acting that way considering the promise he made to his wife. Anyways, the relationships in this show okay. There is nothing that is completely striking about them but I feel like there is potential here if they could have explored the storylines much better. It is a cute show though. I feel like if I want to watch something light and bubbly, I would certainly watch this.
It is a pretty good show. It is not as remarkable as I would have expected it to be but it is not bad at all. It is pretty cute.
