i agree with you diana. that's how i saw it too.
i was bawling my eyes out at the end when kang pae smiled at su ta through the police car window. that smile conveyed so much. kang pae had come to accept his life as "filthy" gangster and wanted to show su ta the real side of him - the dark side. they were friends. they understood each other. and in that last shot, the pain in both of their eyes' just killed me.
also, i think kang pae knew he wouldnt be safe outside since he isnt being backed up by the big boss anymore and is wanted by that little snitch and probably thought jail might be a safer place to live out the rest of his life.
kang pae's character was so complex that i might have to watch the movie again.
Never forget the epic frenemy, bromance of kang pae and su ta. them two are my fav korean actors and i was ecstatic when i found they did a movie together.
hmm, i think biscuit teacher came from her na bo ri and all the students used to call her biscuit teacher, while she used to refer to the main guy as star student
