I just read this somewhere but it was in chinese so don't mind if there are a few mistakes in translation, but here is the main idea. SF reveals that he is a demon bird during the next "Can hua da hui" and XJ realises that SF father killed her mother. Therefore XJ super powers comes in as she tries to kill SF father. SF is stuck inbetween not knowing what to do considering how XJ was so in pain shouting at SF "why did you lie to me"

Actually, XJ is both. It's kinda complicated. You would understand if you keep watching it.
To add to your explanation, the god of war( recreation= XJ) was banished to the mortal realm because she realised That Hao Chen was using her as a killing machine to kill her own people which are the demons. Therefore she rebelled against the di jun/Hao Chen and got banished to the mortal realm to go through tribulation.
