BRO, in most parts of the world, you can marry your cousin. You can marry your cousins in Middle East, South Asia…
fiction is entertainment and can be used as escapism but it will always have an impact, even if it's not it's direct intention. im saying we should be wary of what is normalized by the media we consume and yes encourage critical thinking first and foremost (every depiction isn't noralizing for example)
and we are the one that decide what agenda is acceptable, queer activist fought (and still are) for queer media not to be censored, anti-pedophilia activists fought for it to be ban etc. through activism you fight for what you think is right and try to convince others with your arguments
i don't like censorship either but i also don't like harmful representation

yeah i know that the laws applies to blood relations only which is what i don't agree with
i agree with your reflexions on these types of relationships dynamics too
i don't get parasocial about fictional characters either, but im a firm believer that fiction does in fact impact real life (otherwise why protest censorship of media if it has no impact on us anyways?). so i care about what messages fictional works are giving

life itself is about morals. what's good and what's bad is decided by your own moral compass. so everything is seen through the lense of morality including cousin marriage, which in my opinion is immoral

i actually don't agree that it's the blood related connection that matters, because your concerns would be that if they have a child it's complicated right?
what i think matters even more is the psychological effects of incest. a father that grooms his adopted daughter for example is as traumatic as with his biological daughter for the child.
now in this case it's cousins, i don't know their backstory and how/if they grew up together etc but i guess it's already less problematic than direct blood links. however it's completely normal for some of us (not enough in my opinion) to be weirded out by it

it applies to now too. laws don't dictate morals. if im not from a country where it's legal, then what now? if marrital rape is still legal in my country, then it makes it ok? smh

child marriage was legal a century ago, means it's fine right? idk about you but my morals aren't based on what's legal, especially since laws depend country to country or even within the country so it can't even be a standard across the board
It's perfectly legal in my country and I simply don't have that hang up *shrug*

sO MANY PEOPLE DON'T CARE AND IT BLOWS MY MIND LKIE IM SO DISGUSTED WHAT THE FUCK
i was going insane lmaoo. i just re-read the convo and i told one of them to d!e LMAOOO. shit just pissed me off like why tf are you arguing in favor of a 25 yr old dating a high schooler? insane hill to die on
sO MANY PEOPLE DON'T CARE AND IT BLOWS MY MIND LKIE IM SO DISGUSTED WHAT THE FUCK
PLS people are arguing with the fact that it's gross and grooming... so many people are weirdos and predators and idc if it's fictional those same arguments will end up being used in real life and harm minors
I’m actually surprised that there’s very few mentions about the age gap in the comments…
thanks i will happily take the title 👑 and i never said you magically become mature at 18 lmaooo i actually think quite the opposite. it needs to be set at a certain age legally and most country choose 18 that's it
I’m actually surprised that there’s very few mentions about the age gap in the comments…
yeah black people used to be slaves so it's normal they are still discriminated today right? since you're telling me minors have married adults since forever it must be ok? pls d!e soon you're a danger to society and stay away from kids. minors falling in love with minors is ok, they are kids growing and discovering life. however grown ass adults dating them back is weirdo behavior, why are you in love with someone still in highchool, still legally under their parents care, can't legally drink and more. mind u the brain front lobe isn't full développed until your 20s so teh argument that 17 yrs old know what they want is fcking false
I’m actually surprised that there’s very few mentions about the age gap in the comments…
no you don't at 17 wtf, you're still in highschool and there is a reason you are legally a minor and not an adult. bro someone need to call the police on you you're a weirdo im not joking
Damn I didn't even know there was 'that' kind of age gap in here. While reading the synopsis, I thought by student…
i almost started too i didn't know either 💀 i saw edits and it looked good and the reviews were all positive so imagine my surprise when i read a comment saying one of them is in hs and the other 25 😨
I’m actually surprised that there’s very few mentions about the age gap in the comments…
my bad if a 12 year old flirt with me it's ok if i flirt back because he wasn't forced! like wtf he's a kid ofc he's gonna look up to older people and it's any responsible adult's job to decline. See how the age of consent is different in every country? then why on earth would it be a moral metric in any way? it could 12 for all i care it's disgusting the only difference is he can't go to jail
I’m actually surprised that there’s very few mentions about the age gap in the comments…
i personally do care because i don't think normalising these types of relationships is ok. a minor has nothing to do with a 25 yrs old. but those are my own moral values.
I’m actually surprised that there’s very few mentions about the age gap in the comments…
so many people don't care... apparently he even go see him at his highschool 💀💀 and people are saying they have incredible chemistry etc as if it's not grooming
