fiction is entertainment and can be used as escapism but it will always have an impact, even if it's not it's direct intention. im saying we should be wary of what is normalized by the media we consume and yes encourage critical thinking first and foremost (every depiction isn't noralizing for example)

and we are the one that decide what agenda is acceptable, queer activist fought (and still are) for queer media not to be censored, anti-pedophilia activists fought for it to be ban etc. through activism you fight for what you think is right and try to convince others with your arguments

life itself is about morals. what's good and what's bad is decided by your own moral compass. so everything is seen through the lense of morality including cousin marriage, which in my opinion is immoral

what i think matters even more is the psychological effects of incest. a father that grooms his adopted daughter for example is as traumatic as with his biological daughter for the child.

now in this case it's cousins, i don't know their backstory and how/if they grew up together etc but i guess it's already less problematic than direct blood links. however it's completely normal for some of us (not enough in my opinion) to be weirded out by it
