I don't think Special Infectees can become Neo Humans. Special Infectees create more of a symbiotic relationship…
I think they implied even if NeoHumans get attacked while in the cocoon, they can still come back. Just may take a while to fully recover. Which is why Sang Uk had to repeatedly kill them.
As for the fear, perhaps it's more of an instinctual thing.
Since NeoHumans are supposed to be the final evolution of monsters, after they have died and cocooned themselves.
But Special Infectees have resisted this evolution, in favor of staying "human" with a monster body. Perhaps it is this resistance that makes them wary? Just two different routes of evolution.
Tho I think in the series there really only are 2 real special infectees: Hyun Soo and Sang Uk. The rest were created with Sang Uk's blood so not considered natural...

But NeoHumans seem to lose the ability to transform their bodies.
Special Infecties can manipulate their bodies to do some sort of transformation, have superhuman strength and speed, plus super regeneration.
NeoHumans appear to have similarly superhuman strength and speed but lack the ability to transform their bodies. Instead, they have super intelligence which allows them to learn quickly but lack of emotions. They also have a regenerative factor but likely not as strong as normal special infectees. But they can fully recover from death by re-coccooning themselves, effectively making them immortal.
what is neohuman now?? because i know one thing and that was sang uk calling hyun su a neohuman.
NeoHumans as Eun Hyuk explains it are the final stage of monsterization. The way he explains it, the monsterization process is:
1. Symptomatic 2. Monsterization 3. Cocoon (Triggered by death usually) 4. NeoHuman (Basically immortal. Stronger and faster than humans and can regenerate)
Curious if Special Infectees like Cha Hyun Soo are stronger... or NeoHumans like Lee Eun Hyuk... Can Special Infectees become NeoHumans? Or an even stronger version of them?
I'm still confused what happened to Yi-Su, did she come back to life? It kinda briefly shows it. But then there's also some older woman with similar line tattoos on her arms. Is that her after another session of rapid aging?

Yi-Su is something else entirely...
