So halfway through the story, my established ideas: - GYY loves being a soldier and has a goal to upgrade military via science. Nerdy and arrogant about military science which alienates him because not everyone understands science at that time. Kinda hard about himself, a perfectionist in his own way. However, he admits when he is wrong. Consistent since day 1. GYY's grief after he lost his brothers at arms is so natural. Liking how his character is being molded so relatable and great portrayal. - GL an orphan who lost his brother due to war(?), initially wanted to stay in military because he doesn't want to be alone and want a big family. After ep 21, he wants to study because he didn't have enough chance before entering the military since he's an orphan. Kinda inconsistent maybe script issue or he just recently liked studying but with his story it was even before joining hmmm... GL's character mold and perf is not enough. Also, his character shows scenes of him finding a martial arts book, reading books even wanting to order a military book from the US. These are great indication that he's growing up however there needs to be a follow up scene where these are all applied. The scriptwriters are building his character but there is a huge disconnect. - JNZ, in the first couple of eps, I really didn't see or feel her drive, one, was about getting a promotion just to be able to have a relationship or maybe because she wanted to find her father? and now she wants to modernize the communication department because of what GYY said to her about technology advancement. Character mold is not that great since most scenes are given to the guys.
I do believe ultimately these 3 character's goal will be the modernization of the military. GYY knows that since ep 1, JNZ just got introduced with the idea however GL needs to have extra work and to prove his hardwork to the audience.
Do anyone know if the eps in iqiyi are cut vs the ones aired in the TV? I noticed some scenes had explainable happenings like Gu Yiye suddenly having injuries out of nowhere?

Excited for the 2nd half of the drama.
