I really wanted to ask, why did the emperor (Li Rong’s father) give her the illusion of choice in whom she wanted to be Prince Consort? There was really only one choice, and if she chose wrongly she would be either married off to a foreign country or sentenced to death
Only watched up to ep 31 -FL and ML promise to be with each other in life and death -They find out ML father was poisoned by digging up his grave -The real villain behind ML current situation was the nice Imperial Concubine lady
In novel terms QM would be called a ‘White Lotus’ (sweet and innocent on the outside, but actually an evil schemer). Have a feeling she might have a tragic ending and the FL ends up adopting her child and pretending it’s hers.
Just stated this drama, loved all the twists and turns so far.
1. FL ‘s gift to the Imperial Concubine was swapped for a rock. I thought it was the FL’s sister who did it 2. The mean servant girl wasn’t responsible for her masters death 3. ML isn’t as cold hearted as he appears 4. The servant girl that was going to be buried alive was an accessory to murder and not as weak and pitiful as she appeared. 5. The FL is closer to her ‘Mother’ (fathers main wife) than she is to her biological mother, who is a concubine
I didn’t like that the evil General wasn’t punished because the ML has future use for him. Hopefully he will get what he deserves later?
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but, according to the tittle screen this is only Season One. Which implies there is a Season Two somewhere along the line. Cliffhanger ending perhaps?
I skipped to the end of the novel. The romance between Gu Xiang and Cao Wei Ning doesn’t end well (in their first lifetime). Wen Kexing apologised to Gu Xiang that he let her killer die so easily.
In the second epilogue Gu Xiang and Cao Wei Ning meet each other again in the underworld and get another chance in another lifetime.
Loved episode 12. The scene where Rong Xia was munching on salad because he didn’t want to eat the meat hunted by his rival was hilarious! There are definitely hints that the most talented lady in the imperial city, Shi Feixian is a two faced “beep”. She was involved with one of FL’s ex fiancé’s, as well as the 2nd prince while at the same time trying to get Rong Xia to marry her. In the novel Shi Feixian ends up getting exiled because the emperor wanted to bring her family down,so he ordered someone to frame her for murder
Knew that deputy Embroidered Guard in ep1 was an idiot Idiots wanna die... Apparently some secrets are better left unknown Lovesick fools apparently don’t deserve to live either
This drama’s logic seems to be: even if the FL doesn’t have half a brain, both the ML and 2nd ML love her because she is the FL. None of the FL’s ideas to save her sister really make sense. Why doesn’t the FL’s sister just say she wants to stay married to the prince, even if he doesn’t like her? She did go on a rant about why she doesn’t like the FL,why can’t she just tell the FL to leave her alone and not interfere with her life anymore?
For example in episode 13, the females lead’s great idea to get transferred to the wine making concubines household is to smash up all the wine containers in the pantry! What the??? How she thinks she won’t get punished for that is beyond me. Wasn’t it perfectly legal to punish servants with beatings and execution back then? Le sigh. I will continue to watch this drama just for the fluff.
After watching 14 eps of this drama,I have to say how can a female character this dumb survive this long??? The male lead is handsome, which kind of makes up for the female lead’s cluelessness. I guess he finds her cluelessness endearing or something.
I did not like Cheng Xiao character’s fur hat, thought that was some aunty-until it is introduced she is one of the young mistress’s of the manor
Wouldn’t Ji Man ang Nie Sangyu be wearing different clothes when they fell into the water?

Really put off by the ML already having a harem and at least two sons.
