Upon reading a few Korean reviews I can tell people aren’t liking the FL’s acting and some are having issues with the direction as well. But most reviews are praising the drama.. so I’m kinda confused why the ratings are low lol
Gosh this is exactly what I’m worried about. I’m afraid with only 6 eps left the writer might mess it up.…
After watching ep 1 most people came with this theory. I mean it could be true since chairman Versace is lacking in the “controlling your desires” department 💀 Or it could just be a mere theory. We can’t be too sure until we find out who TO’s biological father is.
If he’s indeed chairman’s illegitimate son then it’s not looking too good for HJ 😂 and I won’t ever forgive the writer for playing such a nasty trick.
As a crime-thriller watcher I too think this drama has lots of flaws. The writing is all over the place. First…
This is called constructive criticism. The writer wrote something, the director worked on it and now it’s out for the world to see and give their feedback about it. I’m not dictating the story, I’m just highlighting its flaws and what could have been done to prevent them from taking place. This is a high budget drama, they have a talented cast, hiring a better writer or someone to co-write this script would have been better.
The majority is having issues with the script so it doesn’t really matter if some can comprehend the plot. At the end of the day it’s the majority who will give this a bad rating and that won’t look too good for anyone involved in this project.
If you think constructive criticism is childish behaviour then… well 🤷🏻♀️ how would we, as writers, improve?
I don’t hate the love line, but have you wondered why the majority hate it? Maybe.. just maybe because it’s been forced into the plot? I never watch a drama where they don’t have a main Female character in it. But this one, I wish HW’s character didn’t exist because the writer has reduced her as a mere plot device. They didn’t bother giving her backstory the kind of exposition it needed in order for audience to establish some sort of a emotional connection with her. Instead of showing us how HW and TO fell for each other, the writer only gave us bland scenes between the two of them filled with business talk and their ambition of climbing the social hierarchy. How can anyone take this as a “romance”. One might argue it’s not supposed to be a romance well then why is TO so obsessed with his 10 year old infatuation or whatever? If their relationship was explored a bit better we wouldn’t be having these issues.
I don’t dislike the FL. I’m just not too crazy about her. But I’m still rooting for her to become independent somehow and turn out to be the ultimate mastermind or something.
I don’t come here to have meltdowns. As I said earlier I’m a crime-thriller fan so romance, shipping, the number of kisses and love triangles aren’t my cup of tea. I’m not even a fan girl of the two Male actors. I’m only here for the plot, which has been sabotaged badly.

Trial and Error.. makes sense. I don’t watch chaebol dramas so I won’t be able to differentiate between this one or any other one as a matter of fact. But out of everything that horribly went against this drama, the fact this finished filming already, has to be the worst one.
If this was still ongoing I think lot could have been done to cater to the audience. It’s kinda sad that this might go down as a badly rated drama.. unless the writer somehow redeem everything in the second half.
The hate the female actress is receiving is also so messed up. I wonder how it all came down to this.

This should have been a 16 eps drama. They should have added HW’s character somewhere in the high school era part of the plot. Should have added lots of scenes for the trio in between these 15 years so we could actually see their growth and follow along their personal stories and the plans they’ve set for themselves. Also they should have explained the business part because most of the viewers didn’t even know what the corporation stood for, what they do or what the chairman is even trying to do lol.
Tae Oh had a whole characters chart on his window, the international audience couldn’t understand it. He wrote the report for the project but again the international audience was at a disadvantage here as well. Like you can just see the writer brushed off everything when it came to actually explaining the main plot to the audience. You need to give them something to hold onto unless you want them to just give up. Most people still don’t know that Hee Joo isn’t actually unemployed 😂 I keep seeing people referring to her as one. She’s not. But I can’t blame them because the first 4 eps didn’t even go into the depth of her character. Felt like she was just there for her crush scenes. That’s just one example, there’s so many more.
please, go watch cliche romance dramas and leave this drama alone bxkzjxhx yall clearly lack maturity to understand…
As a crime-thriller watcher I too think this drama has lots of flaws. The writing is all over the place. First ep started off so solid and the idea was great, execution not so much. Characters are written so blandly that one cannot even connect to them (doesn’t matter if they’re morally grey/anti-hero they should have some depth). It’s come to a point where I can’t seem to care whatever happens to the trio.. that should not have been the case.
“Stranger” is my all time favourite drama, this plot is nothing in comparison if we’re talking about the complexities. But it always comes down to good writing.
As for others, well I can already see why romcom watchers wouldn’t like this one 😂
Gosh this is exactly what I’m worried about. I’m afraid with only 6 eps left the writer might mess it up.…
Oh yes, chairman Versace 😂 I was thinking if he’s testing HW. That old man is too clever.
Agreed. I need her to be the ultimate mastermind, she gave me nothing throughout the drama at least let me have this. I would be pissed if she turns out to be a damsel in distress and TO has to save her 🙄 and IH is sent to jail or something.
Gosh this is exactly what I’m worried about. I’m afraid with only 6 eps left the writer might mess it up.…
Oh I don’t like that guy one bit. But I guess we’re thinking too much about a side character 😭 our poor HJ wasn’t even on the writer’s mind when they wrote the damn plotline I think.
As for TO, I would love to see him come back to his senses and actually go ahead with a solid plan this time. His motives could change but I feel like for whatever reasons he initiated the plan 15 years ago, those reasons are far too important for him to just give up now. I could be wrong though, but I’d think he would improvise but not lose sight of his goals. The business thing should however take a back seat 😂 it’s poorly written anyways. Although from the trailers it seem IH and HW will take over the business part sooo maybe that could provide more time for TO to carry out his own stuff.
Gosh this is exactly what I’m worried about. I’m afraid with only 6 eps left the writer might mess it up.…
The marriage theory, I don’t really see it happening but if a marriage of convenience is ever brought up as a plausible option I do hope Hee Ju says no to it. I need my girl to pack her bags and move abroad.🚶♂️
But it’s interesting how this option has always been there but Tae Oh never took his chances with it. Maybe he respects HJ’s feelings.. that OR he knows they could be siblings 💀 (or maybe he was never desperate enough to try something like that)
Either way, I’d be up for a “bad” ending since this drama was supposed to have a tragic ending considering it’s genre. Any ending where HJ is safe and sound is a good enough ending to me.
Gosh this is exactly what I’m worried about. I’m afraid with only 6 eps left the writer might mess it up.…
Haha that makes the two of us. But do you think the writer can salvage this by somehow making Hye Won and In Ha the bad guys? I’ve seen bunch of people on Twitter theorising about it. Some even said after getting out of prison, Tae Oh should marry Hee Ju because that’s the only way left for him to get back into the family/business. That is however if he comes back to his senses… which I don’t really see happening anytime soon.
I keep saying in Facebook groups how the writer solution to make the leads looks good is to make In ha and his…
Gosh this is exactly what I’m worried about. I’m afraid with only 6 eps left the writer might mess it up. In order to give Tae Oh and Hye Won a redemption arc, In Ha and Hee Ju might be thrown under the bus 🤡. I feel like Hye Won will try to help Tae Oh get out of prison and she probably will be there for him later on. There’s even a scene in the trailer where she’s sitting beside him in a court room.
Since In Ha has been turned evil, he’d definitely try to hurt or abuse Hye Won (there’s some scenes suggesting that) and that would somehow try to make audience sympathise with her 🙄 oh and of course Tae Oh won’t sit around and let that happen to her :) He loves her so much.
Also a scene where it seemed like In Ha might have some clashes with the law enforcement…
Sooo 😬 if he’s out of the way, and Hee Ju is married off or turned into an evil person… what are we left with? Hye Won and Tae Oh with their unwavering “love” for each other. 😂
I just don’t understand Tae Oh’s obsession with Hye Won. This guy meticulously planned every single step he will take in order to climb the ladder, he’s spent YEARS and now he’s acting so out of character all of a sudden. His actions aren’t even aligning with his personality.
At this point I’d rather watch Hye Won be the ultimate mastermind. I want her to betray the two MLs and jump the ship in the end :)
i saw a spoiler on twt for idk ep 5 or 6 but they aren't released??? the person had korean subs on i just wanna…
I think you’re talking about the video from Disney Plus Korea’s YouTube channel? Yeah it doesn’t have Eng subs. But you can watch the preview and kinda guess what’s coming next.
i think many people said this before, but this show is giving strong Itaewon Class vibes. Except this version…
I have a question, not related to this drama though. Was Kwon Na Ra the FL in Itaewon Class? Because I’ve seen people saying she was, then some saying she wasn’t supposed to be the FL. I’m kinda confused.
I think before we go into the whole hypocrisy thing we really need to clear out some stuff. People are having…
In the parking lot he did tell her let’s get married but he then outlined all the issues he’d have to face and whatnot. You really need to look at things from HJ’s perspective. She makes decisions on the whim, she doesn’t give too much thought to the consequences. (How she immediately told Tae Oh she likes him, made it clear to her mother she’d rather die then get married, goes to the guy and tells him he should tell his parents they cannot get married, tries to damage Tae Oh’s car, tells him she’ll marry him no matter what.)
I am a writer so I like to analyse characters. You’re seeing a spoilt brat who can’t seem to take no for an answer. I’m seeing a female character who has no one in her family that loves or understands her. She’s rebellious and obsessive.
I’m not justifying her actions, it’s just she won’t really consider that Tae Oh doesn’t like her in that sense. Unless he goes ahead and knock it into her. Which we might see happening sometime soon.
Other than that, every single character in this drama is either toxic or obsessive. So, we can’t really expect common sense from her.
If he’s indeed chairman’s illegitimate son then it’s not looking too good for HJ 😂 and I won’t ever forgive the writer for playing such a nasty trick.
