Debut's Plan: NewKids on the Starship

Some great talent, I'm 6 episodes in. I wish them all the very best. A few familiar faces so hopefully they get to debut.

The set is amazing, purpose built with lots of great spaces for them.

Judging is a bit of a concern as well as the pressured setup for the talent, that same older style of ‘give them no time’ painful to watch them crash type of viewing. Chuang Asia 2 took that type of made for tv crap out and they aren’t suffering for it.

Show performance is clunky, you get to see their dress rehearsal, given notes and stress them out severely then they are on, not the greatest tv setup hence 8 from me. It would have been lower but the talent make up for the board/producers old style storytelling.

As a foreigner it’s getting harder to understand what’s happening, there are gaps in the subtitles and some quick scene/story edits so we can’t really follow each storyline easily.

OMG the acting was off the hook great! Now that was a stroke of genius, have given an extra star for that, now it’s staring to get good.

Description of this show from a press release:

21 contestants competing for a spot on 'NewKids'.

The show includes five plans, in which the trainees will compete for seven spots in the newly debuting group. What differentiates 'Debut's Plan' from other shows is that the members selected by viewers and the executive board must align. 'Debut's Plan' explained, "If the 7 NewKids that you (viewer) and the board members choose to end up matching completely, the final debut assessment for the 7 NewKids will be their debut stage. If your choice and the board members' choices differ At least 8 to 16 NewKids will be on the final debut assessment stage."

The board members include Starship Entertainment's executive producer, artist team, performance team, visual team, recruit development team, production team, and professionals who will help the trainees grow.
