ok but why do most people here act as if kiyoi put hira in a dungeon and doesn't feed him for days on end πŸ’€πŸ’€ literally the worst things kiyoi has done so far are boss him around and harshly insult him to his face ?? i'm not saying they're acceptable, but like... y'all cannot be serious

Title 2gether
at this point, i'm convinced the only ones who like this show are bright's fangirls or ones who don't like their food seasoned.

- the two main actors are so emotionally closed off and barely have any chemistry (or at the very least; they've been directed to act distant)
- they only used music as an ornament to make the flirting look more interesting, but you can tell no one literally cares and knows about music except for bright/sarawat
- bland storyline execution, avoids the concept of conflict to make viewers comfortable as possible. repetitive, nothing major to expect for
- main characters don't have any depth or any type of interesting development that can impact the audience

in conclusion: no bl is as painfully boring and distant as this one. i'm not even convinced this one is made on this planet, there's barely any normal human affection displayed for these two who are supposedly '2gether.' there's more chemistry between sarawat and his guitar than him and tine. end.

Title My Beautiful Man Spoiler
is it just me or i just realized that kiyoi could be equally obsessed, but acts cold so he isn't obvious or is simply because he's frustrated with his feelings? like imagining switching their povs, doesn't things start to make so much sense?

he doesn't go on stalking hira, but he intentionally spends most of his time with him. he suggested to have his home as a place for hanging out (highly sus, you either just want to see him or see the things in his home to know what he's interested in *hint: it's u*), he possessively orders him around, and he always subtly asks hira questions no one would bother to ask. that to me is interest.

kiyoi even made a joke that hira should stop taking pictures of him to pleasure himself with, he's testing if his assumptions or fantasies about hira are true. it's so damn sly it hurts. it's like joking around someone you like "oh hahah you like me don't you?" just to catch whether their feelings are reciprocated πŸ’€

their kiss is basically a cowardly confession; kiyoi kisses him to let hira knows he likes him too, and notice how he pushes hira? that must be a sign he's just as frustrated that they will part ways, and not because he 'hates' him and is using him. i think his constant rudeness towards hira is his frustration that he cannot be with him either because they're both destined for 'something' (mind you, something, not someone) else, like career, personality difference, etc. or kiyoi cannot accept the fact that he's an 'idol' who's into a 'weirdo' with zero social life, thus thinking it's not really rewarding to be with hira in the long run even though he's into him and it hurts in some way. or maybe even simpler, maybe he's just rude because he's a stuck up and doesn't want to admit feelings so he doesn't seem vulnerable (he did state clearly he didn't want any form of pity when he lost that contest. makes me think he absolutely hates looking weak and frail)

sorry but this realization got me mindf***ed in some way because it's not obvious, but it's there. kiyoi is so good at acting cold it makes you forget the questionable things he does. the things u do ain't normal anymore, homie, sit tf down because u been caught. hira is just dumb af at this point if he thinks kiyoi just kissed him out of pity or something. kiyoi was so invested in you, idiot. like who even thinks about going to ur house, not even ur parents want to see u πŸ’€

2 episodes in and I'm enjoying it for the unique main character. I find the idea of "slave boys", who must buy…
the idea of "slave boys" is more common than you think actually. it's pretty much to avoid getting physically assault or bullied even more. especially when it's a group of people doing it to you, it would be really hard to defend yourself from any anticipated attack so you just do what they say. obviously beating others is highly frowned upon now, when back then no one bats an eye, so most just resort to bossing others around. to them, they might treat hira like garbage, but in fact, he is very, very useful so they don't go further than verbally bullying/teasing him, and even says 'thank you' at times but in an unconcerned way.

We're just an episode in and this drama is already misunderstood, which is pretty impressive. This will definitely not be your cup of tea if you're into the clichΓ© BL fluff.

By the way, I don't know if I can consider this a spoiler since there's still no significant changes in the story? But I basically observe almost the entirety of episode one and talk about it, so don't read if you don't want to know. You've been warned.

Also, I don't know if I'm reading into this way too much, but this is just the way I interpret the story. Some might not see it the way I do. I am definitely word vomiting.

I can't speak for the other episodes since they're not released yet, but from the first one, the most outstanding thing is that it's only the introduction yet the personalities of the characters are already strong. I got shocked because I anticipated the dynamics would be sweet like Cherry Magic or Kieta Hatsukoi, but boy was I wrong.

First of all, I suspect Hira is autistic. Not only he has a hard time telling social cues (reason why he's being picked on), but he's very obsessive about things and specific ideas. He's into photography because it instantly captures whatever interests him, like the duck no one cares about. The reason why he's so obsessive over Kiyoi is that because he might have been obsessing over the idea that he needed to be noticed in some way, and since Kiyoi saved him from getting ridiculed even further, he couldn't believe someone was 'kind' to have given him that attention even unintentionally. This tells me he might have been deprived of kindness and appreciation that even something so unintentional like that moved him in so many ways.

In situations where you feel like you've been treated so nicely, you want to be closer to that person, and that is exactly what Hira is doing. He's okay being bossed around because he has a chance to be closer to this person he's obsessing over, he's expecting something.

But since I said he might be autistic, he might have not learned how to not overstep boundaries. He stalks Kiyoi because he's intensely curious. He holds a really long eye contact and said he'd rather die than reveal Kiyoi's information (which is something you don't admit to someone you barely know, it's just not normal). He takes a picture of Kiyoi LITERALLY IN FRONT OF HIM WITHOUT ANY SHAME, he is that clueless. As toxic and weird as he is (and I'm not condoning his actions in any way), but this character, in my opinion, is pretty nuanced which really surprised me because I didn't expect much let's be honest I thought it was gonna be another fluff lol

As for Kiyoi, what I like about him is that he doesn't overpower the personality of the protagonist, even if he appears confident, popular and attractive. What I can tell is that he's dependent on superficiality so that he can maintain a good image. On his first day, he lied about not having a hobby, hiding the fact he was actually into dancing. Then he has his own group that don't relate to him at all (probably uses them to feel a fake sense of superiority), and that's where he bosses Hira. The reason why I think he does this is because he wants to be seen as capable and not vulnerable. The possible reason why Kiyoi didn't want to reveal he was taking dancing lessons was because he didn't want to be seen as someone who emotionally invests into things, it might be a vulnerability of his.

This is another reason why I think he might start becoming attached to Hira is because Hira oversteps his boundaries (which no one dares to do because he's cool and all that), therefore he cannot easily hide his vulnerabilities, intrigued by the fact someone has the guts to even do this to him and disrespect his personal space like this, it's out of the ordinary for him because he is used to people faking themselves just to be around him so they can use him and this wimp guy he bosses around just dgaf and is weird around him. I think in some way it impresses him.

Also, It's like someone is using a magnifying glass on things Kiyoi don't want to reveal. "He knows who the real me is, I might as well let him into my life." This tells me he might be emotionally lonely because he doesn't open up to others.

I mean the characterization so far is that good! I am writing a whole a** essay here. I don't know if what I'm speculating is too detailed to be true, but if I watch the following episodes and disappointed by it, I might throw my phone and keep rewatching episode one and think about how good things might have been.

Also, people enjoying a toxic characters β‰  condoning. Have you ever heard of the concept of appreciating a story someone worked on? I know people enjoying Painter of the Night but y'all don't say a word. Some of y'all are just disappointed this isn't some type of romantic fairytale, let's be real.
