Such a moving series
This series is such a beautiful and heartfelt story. I cried and cheered for the Qiao family.Such a powerful portrayal of difficulties and struggles, courage, discovery, success, maturity and growth, devotion, commitment, love, compassion, generosity and freedom, during a time of so much external change between the late 1970s to 2005. Each character goes through such a journey. Bai Yu’s portrayal of Qiao Yicheng and Liu Jun’s portrayal of Qiao Zu Wang are masterful. The entire cast is so talented. This is a series I am sorry to see end. What a wonderfully rich story of family love; it is not always pretty, it is not always what we expect or desire, but the core is an unshakeable bond that is nurturing, empowering and genuine love. It is so relatable on many levels.

Great series!
I love this series. Bravo to Zhang Bin Bin, Jenny Sun, Wang Luo and all the cast. The journeys of each character with their strengths, weaknesses, insight, clarity, courage, determination, resilience, devotion… really well done!A beautiful and heartfelt contemplation and examination of various aspects of humanity, in external relationships and internal discovery and understanding.
There is fun humor, very touching emotion between characters and in what certain characters go through internally.
This series is a fun escape from “current events” (my euphemism for so much going on presently) but it is also one that gives a lot to contemplate about the various realms, about humanity and the capacity for humans to continue in suffering or to facilitate liberation.
