The one main flaw you mentioned is difficult to avoid in a short series especially one of 2-3 minutes. It's not a problem of sloppy editing, with a storyline meant to be told in over 10hrs compressed to about an hour what do you expect. You are expected to use your imagination to fill out the blanks.
I do agree with you that the FL is more interesting, wish the male lead is made more interesting than just working and pinning for the female lead.
But I disagree on the zero chemistry aspect. There definitely is chemistry. Try watching it again without bias in your mind and you will notice it.
I don't agree on your take on the aspect of dumbing down the FL for male lead to appear smart, cause from my point of view whenever emotion gets involved logic diminishes. Though that is my own bias about it.
