I love watching a variety of shows from different genres, but comedies and sitcoms are always my favorites. I also really enjoy slice-of-life stories and family-centered narratives because they give me a sense of warmth and familiarity. Plus, I’m attracted to dramas that are full of mystery, suspense, and investigative elements, especially those that dive into psychological themes and explore emotions and the human mind. Mоreоver, I appreciate shows that are suitable for all ages, as they offer entertaining and wholesome content that everyone can enjoy together.
- About Dramas and Korean Variety/Reality Shows :
I stumbled upon dramas by chance in November 2011, and since then, it has turned into one of my favorite pastimes. I mostly prefer Korean and Japanese series. However, I’m not really into movies, although I do watch them from time to time when I’m in the mood. My ratings for a drama, movie, or show are csolely based on my personal enjoyment. The first J-drama I came across (in 2011) was Nobuta Wo Produce, which had an amazing plot that I really liked. The first K-drama I watched (in 2012) was Boys Over Flowers, a charming and popular drama that I think is definitely worth watching. Later, in 2014, I checked out my first T-drama, Fall in Love With Me.
I’ve been watching Korean variety and reality shows since October 2014, and I truly enjoy them. The very first variety show I watched was Running Man, which remains one of the best shows of all time in my opinion. Over the years, I’ve also come to love other popular programs such as Knowing Bros and 2 Days & 1 Night. In fact, I enjoy most Korean variety shows, especially those directed by Na Young Seok, including New Journey to the West and The Game Caterers. I’m equally fascinated by survival and mystery competition shows, particularly those created by Jung Jong Yeon, such as The Genius, Society Game, The Great Escape, The Devil’s Plan, and High School Mystery Club. Altogether, these shows combine humor, creativity, suspense, and clever puzzles, making them an endless source of entertainment for me.
Watching dramas and Korean variety shows has become more than just entertainment for me, it’s a way to relax, discover new cultures, and connect with different perspectives. Korean and Japanese productions, in particular, have introduced me to unique storytelling styles, creative formats, and unforgettable characters. Each show I finish feels like completing a small journey, and I enjoy keeping track of them as part of my personal archive. As I continue exploring dramas and variety shows, I’m excited to discover new titles, genres, and formats. Whether it’s a mystery drama, a heartfelt family story, or a survival competition full of puzzles, I know there will always be something fresh and inspiring waiting for me.
